Chapter 107 - 107: Battle Against the Ancient Geovishap

With a casual motion, Bai Luo stowed away the Juvenile Jade and nimbly dodged the creature's claws.

"Roar—"

The Ancient Geovishap's crimson eyes seemed to blaze with fire. Its flaming claws slashed straight for Bai Luo's head. If it landed a solid blow, Bai Luo's head might burst like a watermelon.

Bai Luo moved slightly, his dagger already flying out, its steel wire embedding into the nearby rock wall. Using the mechanism attached to the dagger, he narrowly avoided the claw strike.

Once free, Bai Luo yanked the dagger from the rock wall. He crouched, then sprang upward with explosive force from his legs and waist. His leap propelled him high into the air.

Previously, he would have needed the steel wire's assistance to jump so high, but the One-Winged Angel's costume enhancements had improved his jumping ability, allowing him to rival even the Yasha who consumed two of his Sunset Fruits.

As he leapt, the Ancient Geovishap's second attack came swiftly. Without his timely evasion, he might have been shredded. The deep claw marks left on the rock wall were enough to show just how sharp its claws were.

In truth, Bai Luo wouldn't have been shredded; with his Quantumization skill, he wasn't afraid of attacks. However, this ability had a five-second cooldown, so he saved it for critical moments.

Otherwise... the consequences could be dire.

As for the time against Raiden Shogun, that was unavoidable.

The Seven Archons' combat prowess was undoubtedly the pinnacle of Teyvat. Hiding his abilities at that moment would have been suicidal.

Raiden Shogun's unparalleled martial skills and exceptional combat intuition allowed her to quickly discern the cooldown interval of his Quantumization. Without activating the Battousai Class, Bai Luo could never have fought her so effortlessly.

The dagger strike didn't result in a critical hit, but it still pierced deeply into the Ancient Geovishap's thick carapace.

The Assassin class was straightforward—its specialty lay in killing with a single blow.

All of his skills were either critical-hit boosters or armor-piercing abilities, with passives for triple damage and instant kills.

Unfortunately, he hadn't acquired the relevant equipment yet. Otherwise, with stacked critical hits, each strike would paralyze the enemy, leaving them unable to move.

Gripping the steel wire, Bai Luo landed on the Ancient Geovishap's back and swiftly delivered another strike. The One-Winged Angel's costume bonus to his falling attack helped him break through the creature's carapace.

The Ancient Geovishap roared in pain, its back glowing red with its embedded crystals.

Not all crystals would develop into Juvenile Jade. Those that didn't would instead be infused with elemental energy, transforming into Pyro Elemental-Infused Stones.

When these Elemental-Infused Stones exploded, they unleashed magma and scorching flames. While the Ancient Geovishap could withstand such heat, Bai Luo couldn't.

He had no choice but to abandon its back, where its claws couldn't reach, and somersaulted to the ground.

The creature's wounded back bled slightly, and the pain seemed to awaken its primal instincts.

Its fiery eyes locked onto Bai Luo as its fire-infused energy surged.

Its heavy claws pressed into the ground, leaving scorched scratches on the rocky surface.

Boom—

The Ancient Geovishap lunged like an enraged bull, shattering the ground beneath its feet. The flying rock shards narrowly missed Qiqi above.

Bai Luo held his dagger steadily, his expression calm as he watched the massive figure approach. Beneath his mask, his eyes focused on the Ancient Geovishap's eyes.

His damage output was indeed high, but taking down the creature with just a small dagger was a fool's dream. He had to locate the creature's weak point and deliver a decisive strike.

Drawn-out battles weren't his style.

As soon as the Ancient Geovishap entered his attack range, Bai Luo struck.

His dagger flew straight into the creature's eye. As a Geo-elemental being, its eyes were gem-like in structure and should have been impervious to human weapons. Yet the seemingly ordinary dagger effortlessly pierced its eye.

Crack—

The sound of shattering glass echoed as crimson gem fragments scattered to the ground. The Ancient Geovishap howled in agony and charged at Bai Luo like a speeding truck.

Bai Luo finally activated his Quantumization.

A pale blue glow enveloped him as the creature's massive body collided with him, scattering his form into particles that dispersed into the nearby rock wall.

The scattered light quickly reformed, restoring Bai Luo's original appearance.

Despite its incredible impact, the Ancient Geovishap remained unshaken, merely shaking its head before fixing its murderous gaze on Bai Luo.

Its shattered eye leaked magma, and the remaining eye radiated an intense killing intent that sent chills down Bai Luo's spine.

Unexpectedly, the creature didn't charge. Instead, it used its Geo-elemental nature to burrow into the ground, vanishing from sight.

Once underground, Geo-elemental creatures could move freely, like fish in water. The tremors in the ground revealed its proximity, hinting that it might emerge beneath Bai Luo at any moment for a devastating attack.

Unfazed, Bai Luo used his Shadow Step skill, which had just cooled down.

His figure disappeared from the cave, leaving behind only the rumbling of the Ancient Geovishap moving underground.

Soon, the Ancient Geovishap emerged from the ground, seemingly confused. It sniffed the air.

Had that person fled?

Its sense of smell wasn't sharp, but its connection to the earth told it no other humans were nearby—apart from the herbalist child.

"Roar—"

The Ancient Geovishap roared toward the ceiling, venting its frustration and unwillingness. After its outburst, it returned to its spot, lying down to slowly recover its injuries using the earth's energy.

It didn't notice the black shadow, now tinged with crimson, that had silently locked onto it.

Just as it opened its mouth, a small Sunset Fruit dropped inside.

"???"

By the time it realized something was wrong, it was too late. A strange power immobilized it, preventing even a retreat underground.

"Whimper—"

The Ancient Geovishap let out a mournful cry, a mix of pleading and lamentation.

Perhaps—just perhaps—it was the sourness it had never tasted in its life that made it cry out.

No matter the reason, Bai Luo was ready. His body lowered to an extreme degree, his face barely a fist's height from the ground.

"Hiten Mitsurugi Style: Kuzu-Ryu-Sen!"

A flash of sword light broke through the Ancient Geovishap's sturdy carapace, striking its only weak point—its heart.
