Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world-Chapter 451: Anomalies?
Brandon leaned back slightly on his hands and took a moment to gather his thoughts, "Okay. First... how does the Divine Realm actually look? You said it’s beautiful but boring. Is it like... endless clouds and golden palaces? Or something else?"
Rheanne smiled and drew her knees up slightly, resting her arms on them as she gazed upward as "It is beautiful in the way a perfect painting is beautiful," she said softly.
"Endless skies of shifting colors... violet at dawn, gold at noon, deepest indigo at night. Crystal spires. Rivers of light flow between floating islands. Gardens where flowers bloom in every color imaginable."
She paused "But it is static. Nothing changes unless a god wills it. No seasons. No decay. No surprises. The same perfect view for eternity. After a few centuries... perfection becomes predictable. Predictable becomes dull." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Brandon nodded slowly "So gods just... sit there? Watching worlds?"
"Mostly," she said. "We observe. We listen to prayers. We debate in the Court, with endless arguments over domains, followers, and influence."
"Some scheme alliances, but there is no urgency and no real risk. Time moves slowly. Nothing feels... final."
She glanced at him sideways "What else do you want to know?"
He rubbed the back of his neck "How do gods... make more gods? Or is it just belief? Like you said yesterday, faith shapes reality?"
Rheanne nodded "Belief is the foundation," she confirmed.
"When enough mortals believe in a being... truly, that belief becomes a force. It reaches the world’s consciousness. If the being is worthy and if their essence aligns with the collective will, they ascend. They cross the veil and become divine."
Upon hearing this, Brandon nodded in understanding.
"But there are some anomalies."
Hm? He raised an eyebrow curiously "Anomalies?"
Leaning backward, Rheanne began to spoke "There are some people who can overthrow the restrictions set by the world consciousness."
"Like... you know how in this world the highest level you can reach is SSS rank."
"No matter how hard you cultivate, you cannot bypass that limit. The world itself enforces it and locks the ceiling at SSS to prevent any single mortal from becoming too powerful and disrupting the balance."
With a soft sigh, she continued "But there are some people who can bypass that and become a god themselves without the world’s permission. They are called anomalies..."
"And the people in the Divine realm mostly hate these ’anomalies’ because they think these ’anomalies’ became gods without working hard."
"Most gods ascend the ’proper’ way with centuries of worship, careful cultivation of faith, and slow accumulation of belief. They earn their place through patience and politics."
"Anomalies... they simply take it. They tear through the restrictions and seize divinity by force or accident or destiny."
She glanced at him and muttered "To the rest of us, it looks like cheating. That’s why they are hated."
Upon hearing this, Brandon frowned slightly "I see... Anomalies, huh."
With a faint giggle, she spoke "Don’t worry, you won’t become one."
He just smiled wryly and she spoke, "Keep asking. I have all the time in the world to answer."
Brandon nodded "Good. Because I’ve got a lot more questions."
Rheanne laughed softly and settled more comfortably on the step beside him.
"Then ask, my Herald. I’m listening."
---
It was already evening.
The sky had turned a deep purple, streaked with the last threads of orange along the horizon.
Snow fell slowly, and the flakes drifted lazily to the ground below.
The balcony overlooked the winter garden and Brandon stood at the railing with a steaming mug of tea between his palms.
Callista was standing beside him holding her own mug with both hands.
They stood in comfortable silence for a while, just watching the flakes drift, listening to the faint whisper of wind through the bare trees.
Taking a sip, Brandon spoke "Callista."
She turned her head to him "My Lord..."
"You are now at SSS rank, right?" he asked quietly. "Have you ever thought of surpassing that level?"
Callista blinked, surprised by the question "Yes, My Lord. I have tried a lot... but it always feels like I have hit a wall, and I can’t move past the wall."
"Like... this is my limit."
Brandon’s gaze condensed slightly "I see..."
Looking at him, she spoke "I think that is what others also feel who can’t reach S rank or SS rank... so I am quite proud of myself that I reached the pinnacle a mortal could achieve."
A soft smile appeared on his lips "Yeah, you must have worked hard to reach this place. It’s very admirable."
Hearing his compliment, she smiled gently. "Thank you, My Lord."
Taking another sip of her tea, she asked "How long will you be staying this time?"
"I will leave tomorrow."
She gave a slow nod "I see. I will take care of things here as usual."
His gaze softened "Thank you as always, Callista."
---
Brandon was lying on his back in the bed with one arm loosely draped over Seonhwa’s lower back while she rested naked on top of him.
He held his phone in his free hand, scrolling lazily through messages.
Dhayun’s message popped up first.
Dhayun: [Woonie, you remember that we are going to Korea tomorrow to meet my mom, right?]
Brandon’s lips curved into a small smile.
Brandon: [Yeah, I do.]
A moment later her reply came through, followed by a string of stickers, first a cute bear waving excitedly, then a little heart exploding into sparkles.
Dhayun: [Yes!! I’m so nervous omg. Mom’s been asking about you non stop. She wants to make sure you’re eating enough Korean food and not just living on coffee lol]
Brandon: [Tell her I’ve been practicing with kimchi jjigae.]
Dhayun: [You better. She’s already planning to stuff you full of japchae and bulgogi. And she bought a new hanbok for me to wear when we arrive. She said it’s "traditional welcome" 😭]
Brandon chuckled under his breath.
Brandon: [She’s gonna make me wear one too, isn’t she]
Dhayun: [100%. Prepare your dignity. I already told her you look good in traditional clothes. She’s very excited.]
Brandon: [Great. My dignity’s been on vacation since I met you anyway.]
A flood of laughing emojis poured in.
Dhayun: [Love you, idiot. Get some sleep. Don’t stay up texting your other women all night.]
Brandon: [Love you too. Night.]
He set the phone on the nightstand and let his hand slide back to Seonhwa’s bare back, his fingers tracing lazy circles along her spine.
With that, he closed his eyes, drifting to sleep.
