Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 846: Dinner
That evening, everything seemed peaceful at Yu Mansion. The sky outside was painted a soft purple, and golden lights filled the house. But inside Ruo Lan’s heart, a storm was quietly brewing.
She sat in her room, holding the red marriage certificate like it was a treasure map.
Her eyes sparkled, but not with love.
"This paper... this is my golden ticket," she whispered to herself. "No prenup, no conditions. Once Yu Lin dies, all of this—" she looked around at the fancy walls and glittering lights, "—will belong to me."
With that thought, she smiled sweetly and walked out of the room, heading toward Yu Lin.
She found him sitting on the sofa, looking at a photo of his children.
Ruo Lan leaned down and gave him a soft hug from behind. "Yu Lin," she said gently, "I really love you. And in the future, I’ll love you even more. I promise."
Yu Lin was touched. His eyes warmed. "Ruo Lan... I’m lucky to have you."
Then Ruo Lan stood up and said, "I’ll go prepare everything for your dinner with the children. Did they agree to come?"
Yu Lin nodded slowly. "Yes. After a lot of back and forth... they’re all coming tomorrow evening."
"Perfect," Ruo Lan said with a small smile. "I’ll make sure everything is just right."
But as soon as she returned to her room, her soft smile turned dark.
She shut the door, pulled the curtains closed, and took out a small round mirror from a locked drawer.
The surface was black like ink.
She sat cross-legged on the floor, took a small blade, and made a tiny cut on her finger. Then she let a drop of blood fall onto the mirror.
"Witch," she whispered once.
"Witch," she whispered again.
Suddenly, the mirror shimmered—and a strange, headless figure appeared on the glass.
Its voice was raspy and cold. "You called, sister?"
Ruo Lan bowed her head slightly. "Yes. Everything is ready. The children are coming tomorrow. And soon... Yu Lin will die too. I want you to kill him."
The witch hissed with excitement. "You’ve done well. Truly, I can trust you the most."
Ruo Lan rolled her eyes. "Of course. This whole plan was my idea. But remember—you kill Yu Lin. Not me. I don’t want him to see my true face. Not even at the end."
The witch paused, then nodded. "Smart, as always."
"I have to be," Ruo Lan said coolly.
"Once Yu Lin dies mysteriously, people will blame his ex-wife. Everyone knows she divorced him and left without taking a single penny. I’ll tell them she was bitter, jealous... and that she hated Yu Holea too, since she was born from an affair."
The witch laughed. "And the people will believe you."
"They will," Ruo Lan smiled. "Then everything will be mine."
The witch’s voice grew serious. "Tonight, you must make the summoning circles. If you draw them correctly, I can strike Yu Holea first. One hit. She’ll be gone before sunrise."
Ruo Lan nodded. "Send me the design."
"But listen carefully," the witch warned. "If you make a mistake—if even one line is wrong—it could all backfire."
Ruo Lan rolled her eyes again. "Don’t worry. I know enough witchcraft already. I won’t mess up."
"Good," said the witch. "I’ll send the photo. When the circle fades, our bond will be complete."
That night, after dinner, Yu Lin went to his bedroom.
Ruo Lan waited until she heard the door click shut.
Then, calmly and quietly, she walked to the living room.
She turned off the lights, one by one, until only the moonlight lit the space.
She made sure the servants were gone.
Then she moved the heavy dining table, inch by inch, until the center of the floor was empty.
She reached into a hidden bag and took out a small bowl.
Inside was rice flour, mixed with a few drops of chicken blood.
It smelled strange, but Ruo Lan didn’t flinch.
Kneeling down, she began to draw.
Line by line.
Curve by curve.
Her fingers moved carefully, exactly as the witch had shown her in the picture.
A large circle, with small symbols inside.
Some looked like snakes, others like strange stars.
The floor was cold under her knees, but she didn’t stop.
Just as Ruo Lan was finishing the circle with the rice flour and chicken blood, she suddenly heard a creak from upstairs.
Her heart jumped.
A door had opened.
She cursed in her head. "No, no, not now!"
Quickly, she grabbed the bowl and shoved it behind the curtains. She rushed to the living room door and gently pulled it shut.
She took a deep breath and walked toward the stairs, pretending to be calm.
Yu Lin was already halfway down.
"Oh, you’re still awake?" she asked sweetly.
Yu Lin rubbed his eyes and said, "Yeah... I was just feeling thirsty."
Ruo Lan gave a nervous laugh and replied, "Oh no, I just realized the kitchen sink isn’t working. Something must be wrong with the pipe. Don’t worry—I’ll get you water from the jug in my room."
Yu Lin nodded, touched by her care. "You’re always so thoughtful."
Ruo Lan smiled awkwardly. "I couldn’t sleep either, so I was just walking around. Maybe fresh air would help."
She walked back up, filled the jar with water, and handed it to Yu Lin. "Here. Drink this, and try to get some rest, okay?"
Yu Lin smiled softly. "Thank you. Goodnight."
He walked back to his room.
Once Ruo Lan was sure the door had closed and he wouldn’t come out again, she tiptoed back downstairs.
This time, she didn’t turn on any lights. She worked in the dark, using just the soft glow from the moon.
Her fingers moved slowly, carefully finishing the magic symbols.
But... something was wrong.
Ruo Lan didn’t know that in her hurry, she had drawn the wrong design. In fact, when she had heard the sound of the door opening, she had mistakenly rubbed off one of the lines from the design.
She looked at the glowing pattern and smiled, satisfied.
Then she covered it again with the dining table, washed her hands, and went back to sleep like nothing had happened.
The next morning, the mansion was filled with a warm smell of spices and sweet bread.
Ruo Lan woke up early and told the servants to stand back.
She wanted to make everything herself—to look like the perfect, gentle wife.
She cooked and decorated the table by hand.
Yu Lin walked into the dining room and saw her carefully arranging the chopsticks.
His heart felt soft.
Maybe she wasn’t rich like his ex-wife. Maybe she didn’t fit in with the high-class women in the business world. But she was gentle. She was trying.
"Thank you," he said quietly.
Ruo Lan turned and smiled, wiping her hands on her apron. "I want your family to see how well I can take care of you."
Later that evening, the house was cleaned and ready.
Ruo Lan stayed in the guest room, just like she promised, to keep things peaceful.
Yu Lin stood near the entrance, dressed neatly, waiting.
The doorbell rang.
He opened it and saw his children—Yu Sicong, Yu Shuchang, Yu Sile, and Yu Holea—standing there.
None of them smiled.
They simply walked past him into the living room.
Yu Lin followed them, clearing his throat. "I know this is awkward... but thank you for coming."
They all sat on the couch.
Yu Lin stayed standing.
He looked at them seriously. "I know... I’ve made mistakes. But my life hasn’t been easy either."
There was a pause.
Then Yu Sile let out a laugh.
He looked up at Yu Lin and said, "Do your lies not hurt your face, or have you just gotten used to lying like that?"
Yu Lin frowned. "Sile, don’t talk like that. You’re crossing the line."
Yu Sile stood up, his face cold. "You crossed the line when you betrayed Mom. You slept with someone else. You tricked her. And now you want us to feel sorry for you?"
Yu Lin’s eyes darkened. "It wasn’t like that. Back then... the company was in danger. The Yu Corporation almost collapsed. We were about to lose everything."
He took a deep breath and added, "I didn’t want to do it. But it was the only way to get help. If I didn’t do it, all of you would’ve lost your comfortable life. I sacrificed... so you could have a future."
Yu Sicong narrowed his eyes. "So you’re saying we should thank you for cheating on our mom?"
Yu Lin’s hands tightened into fists. "That’s not what I meant. I just want you to understand... I did what I had to do."
Yu Holea, who had stayed quiet the whole time, looked up slowly. Her voice was cold and calm. "You didn’t do it for us. You did it for yourself."
Yu Lin was furious, hearing Yu Holea’s words, and shouted,
"You don’t understand anything! At least hear about my struggles before making any decisions."
