Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 270: Amusement Park
Even his own son, whom Lana had saved, had never spoken a word about it.
That very ignorance was what allowed the mastermind to act so recklessly.
The misunderstanding became painfully clear.
Ian quickly composed himself and looked back at Lana, sincerity written plainly across his face.
"This time, I was wrong. I ask for your forgiveness. I’ll personally ensure that all the resources you need are gathered."
Hearing that, Lana finally relaxed.
She let out a quiet breath and smiled. Just as she was about to close the matter, Ian continued,
"Since we already have a connection, it would be best if we exchanged numbers. If either of us needs help in the future, we can contact each other."
It was an indirect olive branch.
Lana observed the faint white aura surrounding Ian Rivers, then smiled. "That would be good."
She flicked a glance toward Lucian.
He gave a subtle nod. Lana took out her phone, and the numbers were exchanged swiftly.
Once it was done, Lana smiled again. "Would you like to stay for lunch?"
Ian glanced at the time and shook his head.
"I still have important meetings. I’ll take my leave first. Rest assured, once I catch the mastermind, I’ll give you a proper explanation."
This time, Ian’s expression was genuinely serious.
Lana nodded calmly, watching as he prepared to depart.
Once Ian was gone, the room felt noticeably emptier.
Lucian turned toward Lana, his gaze sharp yet composed.
"In the future, don’t reveal your true identity as a mystic cultivator so casually, especially not in front of people like Ian."
Lana tilted her head slightly.
"But Ian has a white aura. He’s definitely a good person."
The moment the words slipped out, she froze. ’Ah... that was careless.’
She nearly bit her lip, regret flashing through her eyes.
Lucian narrowed his gaze, studying her intently.
"Do you have the third eye?"
Silence followed.
Lana didn’t answer, but she didn’t deny it either. Her stillness was confirmation enough.
Lucian exhaled slowly, understanding settling in his eyes.
For a fleeting moment, even he felt overwhelmed.
’A silver cat who can glimpse the future. A mystic cultivator. A talisman practitioner. And now... the third eye,’ he thought grimly. ’Just how many secrets does this girl hold?’
If there was ever an example of someone bordering on omnipotence, Lana fit it disturbingly well.
The Almond family would definitely regret their decision once they knew the truth.
Of course, he was the one who would be telling them everything at the right moment.
Suppressing the shock in his heart, Lucian smiled faintly.
"You need to be careful with that as well."
He paused before continuing, his tone turning instructive.
"Even if someone has a white aura, it only means they’re kind now. It doesn’t guarantee they’ll remain that way forever."
Lana listened carefully, understanding dawning in her eyes.
"I understand."
She nodded earnestly.
Lucian gave her a few more reminders before driving her back to the university.
Life settled into a steady rhythm over the next few days, days passing one after another without incident.
Then, on the third day of that week, remembering Lucian’s request, Lana cleared her schedule and returned to the mansion.
The day began as ordinarily as possible.
Sunlight filtered through the curtains, warm and gentle.
Lana was in the middle of getting ready when a knock echoed softly against her door.
When she opened it, Lucy stood outside, holding a neatly arranged box on a plate.
The moment Lana noticed it, her brows furrowed slightly.
"These are the clothes Mr. Lucian asked you to wear," Lucy said with a polite smile.
Lana didn’t question it. She accepted the box and closed the door.
After changing, she paused in front of the mirror.
It was a beautiful off-shoulder floral one-piece that fell gracefully to her knees, hugging her waist in a way that made her figure look even slimmer.
She turned slightly, examining the details, and couldn’t help smiling.
’Not bad at all.’
She styled her hair carefully, then applied light makeup.
Since her silver hair was concealed beneath a large black wig, no one would recognize her.
Once satisfied, she stepped out.
Lucy was waiting, her smile widening the moment she saw Lana.
Today, Lana looked like a young woman waiting to bloom. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Confused but amused, Lana smiled back. Lucy led her through the halls until they reached Lucian.
That was when Lana noticed he was dressed casually as well.
’That’s unusual. Weren’t we supposed to go for some cocktail party?’
Before she could ask, Lucian smiled. "I have a surprise for you. Let’s go."
Lana nodded, then hesitated.
"Wait... I haven’t seen Mr. Crow since morning."
Concern flickered in her eyes.
Mr. Crow had mentioned he had business to attend to yesterday and would leave first, but she’d expected him to return by now.
Lucian’s smile remained calm.
"I’ve already spoken with him. There’s nothing for you to worry about. He will join us later."
He extended his hand.
Lana hesitated, then asked again, her voice soft but serious. "You’re sure?"
Lucian nodded.
Only then did Lana relax. She placed her hand in his, her heart suddenly racing.
’Why is it beating so fast?’ she wondered nervously. ’What if he hears it?’
With a quick glance in Lucian’ direction she felt assured. He didn’t notice.
They stepped outside the mansion, where a car was already waiting.
Once inside, Lucian entered from the other side, and the vehicle soon set off.
When Lana realized where they were heading, her eyes widened.
An amusement park.
It wasn’t that she had never been to one, but those memories were always incomplete.
She remembered visiting with the Almond family, only for everyone to leave early each time due to their own affairs.
In the end, she would wait alone, realize no one was coming back, and quietly leave.
Every single time.
As if they were cursed to never enjoy a full day together.
Lost in those thoughts, Lana didn’t notice the door open until she heard it.
Lucian had already stepped out.
