Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 692: Five Days
Chapter 692: Five Days
The cold breeze passed through the corridors of the remaining Blood Talon Shelter…
It was a stronghold carved partially into the mountainside. This was all done thanks to the various Survivors on their clan who had talents related to handling earth, rock, or even tunneling itself.
At this time, only two Turrets are working within their shelter. Although they have a few more boxes of ammunition, it wouldn’t mean a lot if most of their Turrets weren’t even working.
Aside from that, most of the lights flickered as backup power cells strained to sustain even minimal functionality… They do not have enough Power Cores as well, since they have already used too many for their barriers.
Inside the central operations hall—once a place of war councils and celebration—was now eerily silent.
There was only some soft hum of working terminals, the occasional crackle of a damaged screen, and some coughs of exhausted survivors could be heard.
Reylin, the last standing commander of the Blood Talon Clan, sat at her desk while one leg crossed over the other…
The fatigue could be easily seen on her face, but she was trying to remain strong, not just for her sake but for her whole Clan.
She had just been rejected by multiple clans within the Alliance.
“Those damn bastards…” She couldn’t help but curse the Clan Leaders of the Alliance, especially the representatives of the Overlord Clan. It was infuriating.
Even if they were willing to accept the survivors of their Clan, they were only willing to take about 30 to 50 talented people. Those without decent Talent, the elderly, children, and other injured would have to fend for themselves.
It was similar to the condition of others. They would have to split apart, and no one was willing to take the young or the elderly.
“Haa~”
Her long hair was tied back in a tight braid, and as she felt that she was being stifled, she decided to untie her hair as it might make her feel better…
At this time, her once-pristine uniform was worn and patched, but she didn’t give up… She continued sending messages in the Chat Board, and soon, Shane noticed her message and asked for more information.
She knew about Shane and his Clan through the Alliance. Shane was also known as the Shadow Strider and the Rank 1 Survivor. He had created the Eclipse Revenant Clan and had multiple Shelters under his control.
After some time, the two of them exchanged messages…
Soon, she leaned forward as she saw another message from Shane.
‘Please…’ She thought as she opened it.
[ Shane: Alright… These are the terms…
As soon as she saw the first part of the message, she was excited…
The message unfolded on the screen, line by line.
Reylin’s eyes darted quickly, absorbing every condition, every demand, every declaration of authority.
For a moment, she didn’t speak. She was actually looking for a demand telling her to only send Survivors with good talents…
However, she didn’t find such a thing in the terms that Shane provided…
Then… she exhaled.
A long, slow breath.
And she smiled.
Not the cold, calculated smile of a commander keeping morale up. But the real one—the kind she hadn’t worn for some time…
“…We made it,” she whispered…
After a few moments, she sent a message to all important staff or members of the Shelter or the Clan itself.
She wanted them to visit her immediately.
Within moments, the command room began to fill.
There were only four of them, but they were key members of their organization.
Captain Duran, a towering man with a prosthetic leg, was the first to enter. He was one of their strongest Survivors who had led their charge during the defense of Shelter Three… He was able to hold the line until the infection wave breached the inner ring. Half his left arm was synthetic now, the result of emergency battlefield surgery. Still, it was a good thing he survived and reached Shelter Two.
Next came Maria, their top engineer and the reason the mountain shelter still had functioning defenses. She also looked very tired, and she was even wearing grease-stained gloves and a wrench like it was a security blanket, as soon as she arrived.
Then there was Torren, a pale-skinned medic who’d stayed awake during the wave. He also looked very tired, but he was hoping that their Clan Leader would give them some good news.
And finally, there was Maz, their best scout.
All stood around the central chair now, forming a half-circle in front of Reylin.
She then rose from her seat.
“The Eclipse Revenant under Shane’s control accepted our merging conditions…” she said clearly.
For a second, no one moved.
Then Duran’s eyes widened. “You mean…”
“Yes… We’re merging with Eclipse Revenant. Shane accepted our terms. We’ll be absorbed, and we’ll work under their banner. Loyalty will be tested, ranks will reset—but we’ll be able to survive and perhaps live a better life under his leadership.” Reylin replied.
To be honest, she was also really tired after acting like a great leader for almost a year now. It was just too difficult…
She was only a high school teacher and had a bit of training since she was also a leader in the Girl Scouts.
Because of her leadership qualities, she naturally became a leader, and it was very difficult to pull out of the task after being responsible for many lives.
Now, she believed that her leadership role would no longer pressure her with Shane’s assistance.
Maria’s wrench clattered to the floor as she heard the great news. “We… we’re having a new place and that will be the Rank 1 Clan?! Isn’t that amazing? I read from the chat that their members eat healthy foods every day. I’ve been reading those chats from those lucky members.”
“It must be a marketing strategy to get more visitors or members, but that’s not too surprising for a rank 1, I guess.”
Maz looked down, emotion flickering across her typically unreadable face. “We really made a bad decision joining the Alliance… I hope that Shane or his people wouldn’t mistreat us there.”
Torren slumped onto a nearby chair and gave a breathless laugh. “This is good news… I don’t have to ration anesthesia again. I also found a few Tokens they were selling in the Marketplace. They have this amazing Token that heals other people with almost no side effects. I hope we’ll get some access to that as well.”
Duran chuckled gruffly, then thumped his synthetic arm against his chest. “Right… This is good… To hell with the Overlord Clan. This might be better for us, Leader…”
“That’s true… He’s also not afraid of us causing trouble. I guess he’s confident with his Shelter…” Reylin said as she certainly liked Shane’s confidence. She liked how he seemed unworried about their number, the food they to use, or even a possible conflict of interest to arise…
Although she had no plans of causing trouble, it was quite fascinating to feel how Shane trusted her.
“Even knowing our pride… our strength… our danger. He took us in…”
She then opened the map on the main console in front of her. It showed their broken region, their dying supplies, and then pinged a projected area where Eclipse guards, engineers, and medics would soon arrive.
To be exact, it would take these people about five days to arrive. They just have to hold on during that time…
“Shane said that he planned to establish a portal here instead…” Reylin said. This topic about the Portal had certainly caught everyone’s interest.
They didn’t even know something like that existed.
“A portal…” Maria blinked. “That’s… that’s possible?”
“It is,” Reylin said. “He has tech we’ve never seen. We just have to hold out five more days.”
Then she glanced toward them all.
“Let’s protect the shelter as much as we can until they arrive.”

Five days later, a low rumble echoed through the mountains as armored wheels crunched against the uneven road leading to the remaining shelter of the Blood Talon Clan.
The residents of Blood Talon Shelter were excited as soon as they arrived.
Reylin stood at the observation deck, gripping the rusty rail as she saw the first signs of movement beyond the canyon entrance.
From the area on the cliffside, about forty figures emerged out of the armored vehicles…
At the head was Tundra. According to the message sent by Shane, he was one of the Eclipse Revenant’s Enforcers.
Behind him came ten Super Soldiers, and she knew about their existence since they also managed to find Super Soldier Serums before. If she knew how great these Super Soldiers were before, she wouldn’t have sold them for food and zombie cores before.
“Amazing…” She muttered after seeing how some of them were augmented with exosuits and armed with hybrid rifles, they scanned the terrain carefully as they approached their shelter.
Well, it was normal to be cautious…
However, what really surprised her and the others was the existence of mystical beings…
Just behind Tundra, they saw the beautiful Elves, garbed in scale-leather armor and wielding what seemed like Epic-Grade Crossbows!
“Elves!”
