Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System-Chapter 111: Experience Points
All the items were transferred to Kai’s inventory, and of course, they didn’t take up any space.
Still, he didn’t focus on that. He turned his attention to the achievement he had just obtained!
"First transaction with the Gene Trader..." Kai repeated softly.
’So I’m the first Foreign Survivor to buy something from this guy? I’m lucky...’
Then, it was followed by another notification and new items appearing in his inventory. Kai’s eyes widened as he checked it.
[ Achievement Unlocked: First Transaction with the Gene Trader ]
[ You have obtained 50% Discount Vouchers x2 and 75% Discount Voucher x1 as a reward. ]
[ Note: Vouchers may be applied to purchases in the Gene Trader’s Store, whether using Survivor Medals or Energy Cores. ]
Kai froze. "Discount vouchers...?!"
Now, this was an incredible reward!
"This is insane. I can actually cut the price of those expensive items... even the replacements!"
He clenched his fists, excitement surging through him. "Two halves and one three-quarters off... this is huge. I like this very much!"
He really felt like celebrating here. After all, he’d save a huge amount of Energy Cores or Survivor Medals if he were careful about this.
Then, it didn’t end there. After confirming that Kai was done with his purchase, the cloaked Gene Trader finally moved.
He put down the crystal, the faint glow faded from his hands.
This time, he turned to the luggage stacked around him.
Kai tilted his head, as he was curious about the situation.
’Is he selling other items aside from system items through the crystal? Or maybe he wanted to give another reward or something?’
In the end, he was right about the first part...
The cloaked trader raised his hand, and with a simple wave, the luggage snapped open. One after another, they unfolded, spilling their contents onto the ground!
"Whoa~"
Kai was basically watching magic! The Gene Trader seemed to have some kind of telekinetic ability!
’I want that too...’ Kai thought. Well, who wouldn’t want to learn telekinesis?
Being able to control objects around you was definitely a sought-after ability.
He would be willing to pay an extra fee for that.
Unfortunately, the items being sold now didn’t seem to be too related to the Genetic Items.
Whoosh~
At this time, the trader spread out a huge mantle. The mantle itself seemed just like a worn fabric, more like a ragged peddler’s cloth than anything refined.
But as he laid it flat across the dirt, the items were carefully arranged on top like magic... It looked so mystical.
Kai’s eyes widened. The scene was surreal. He really wanted to have such an ability.
In any case, the mysterious Gene Trader, who had just shown Kai a system interface filled with impossible items, now looked like a normal street vendor.
He seemed interesting. A cloaked figure crouched over a spread of goods, selling them on the ground.
’Well... I guess he’s a peddler too.’ Kai muttered as he looked at the items.
There were weapons, trinkets, and strange supplies appearing in front of him. Some were crude, others looked really, but all of them were clearly not part of the system store.
Kai muttered, "So he has two ways of selling... system items through the crystal, and some worldly items through his own trade."
He crouched slightly, scanning the displayed items.
Meanwhile, the Gene Trader’s hands were just waving his hands, arranging blades, tools, and odd accessories across the mantle.
As Kai’s eyes roamed across the mantle, he confirmed that they were all items that once belonged to the old world, things that could be rarely found in the A.I. Apocalypse.
There was a gas mask, a pair of protective goggles, a small bottle of perfume, an old laptop, packets of instant coffee powder, a mechanical wristwatch, a steel thermos, a folding knife, a digital camera, a set of cooking utensils, a box of preserved spices, a stack of vinyl music records, a pack of cigarettes, and a rolled scroll.
"Ahh... Wait... What’s that?" Kai muttered as he saw a grenade-like item.
Then, there was a note below it. Apparently, it was a small, cylindrical EMP grenade!
Furthermore, its casing was marked with faded military insignia.
As for the rolled scroll, tied with a strip of leather, it was actually a map based on the notes!
Kai couldn’t see the map inside, but curiosity gnawed at him. It was definitely a great item to have! Perhaps, the map had some notes about the locations of the shelters, the A.I. Cities, or even other Gene Traders!
But then his eyes caught something strange. Beside each item was a number scrawled on a small note.
Aside from the name of the item, there was a number attached to it ranging from 1,000 to 10,000
There was no label, no currency, no explanation. Just numbers.
Kai frowned. "What do these mean? Survivor Medals? Energy Cores? No... the prices are too high. Even the EMP grenade is marked at ten thousand."
As he stared, the Gene Trader finally noticed his interest. The cloaked figure raised a hand, and a system message appeared in front of Kai.
[ Trade Notice: Items outside the system store cannot be purchased with Survivor Medals or Energy Cores. ]
[ Requirement: Experience Points ]
Kai’s eyes widened. "Experience Points...?!"
He was stunned at this discovery!
Then, the Gene Trader lifted a small, glowing purple sphere.
Kai leaned closer as he studied it. After observing for a moment, he confirmed that its surface was swirling with faint specks of light, drifting like stars trapped inside glass.
It was mesmerizing!
"Fine... You can even take Experience Points. That’s... just incredible," Kai whispered as he felt a little bit helpless...
At this point, Kai was convinced the Gene Trader was an extension of the Apocalypse System, a living fragment of its will.
And then another thought struck him. Perhaps the reason the Gene Trader never spoke was deliberate. By remaining silent, it avoided the endless haggling and bargaining that came with human merchants!
Kai smirked to himself. "If this guy could talk, I’d probably have lowered the price by eighty percent already."
