Chapter 205: Chapter 201: Endless Vitality

Blaze looked down, seeing the mortal body he had possessed.

He remembered everyone who had ever received his ’blessings’, and the individual he possessed was one of the first outsiders to get it. π‘“π˜³π‘’π‘’π“Œπ˜¦π˜£π˜―β„΄π‘£π˜¦π‘™.π˜€π‘œπ‘š

The boy wasn’t strong, nor did he have any traits separating him from the torrent of endless fanatics Blaze had. Yet, he chose the boy because... he had something the others lacked.

Endless vitality.

The boy’s body could heal itself at a rate that almost rivaled Blaze from back when he was on Earth. Hence, Blaze experimented on him and made him a strong vessel to possess.

He turned a body capable of acting only as a punching bag and turned it into an impenetrable wall.

That’s why Blaze’s current body was practically invincible. He could take all the time to learn, overpower his enemies mentally or physically, without the risk of losing.

But there was one problem. If he were to lift his possessions, then the body might break irreversibly. Only the Deca tribe’s newborns were immune to such a disastrous result.

Blaze still had no clue why it was like that. That’s why he didn’t usually possess outsiders to execute his will.

This case was an exception, since he needed to defeat Kais, and for that, he needed a body overflowing with vitality.

Kais wasn’t much different.

He, too, had similar vitality, but he also had everything that Blaze desired. With the correct blessings, he was confident he could turn Kais into a body that might even rival Anur’s advanced body.

In other words, Kais was the key to Blaze’s next evolution.

That was also the reason he wanted to capture Kais alive.

But the latter had no such reservations.

Kais lunged at him, hysterically throwing punches. Blaze knew what he was trying to do, but no matter what, his body wouldn’t break so easily.

Blaze retaliated in kind. At first, he wanted to preserve Kais’s body in perfect condition, but it would all work as long as his heart was beating.

Hence, Blaze stopped being on defense and struck Kais back with the same intensity. The only difference was that Blaze’s attacks actually did damage to Kais.

Well, not visible damage.

To him, it felt like Blaze was merely touching various points on his body. In reality, all those points were the pressure points Blaze had uncovered after chopping apart various alien bodies on Sadarla.

Sure enough, as Kais kept fighting, he suddenly felt something was wrong. His heart began beating erratically, and his breathing grew irregular. That too, just after Blaze had hit him thrice on the chest.

"What have..."

Before Kais could complete his words, he fell flat on his face, completely losing control of his body. He was still alive, but his mind couldn’t lift a single finger anymore.

"Since you didn’t want to give up your body, I made your body give up on you," Blaze smiled as he squatted next to the man. "Forget about getting you, you can’t even move a muscle without my permission."

Kais tried to curse Blaze, but it was just as he said, he couldn’t even move his lips anymore. In the end, he just glared at Blaze without all the anger he had, but such emotions triggered nothing in the latter.

As someone who heartlessly killed people of his own species, the anger of aliens brought him nothing but pleasure.

"It was fun," Blaze said, patting Kais’s cheek. "I must say I almost forgot about the rush of fighting someone. Thanks for reminding me of it."

Blaze got up and began preparing for Kais to be transported to his ’temple’. But just then, something miraculous happened.

Kais... stood up.

Not just that, he had a strange glow surrounding his body. It was as if the gods he had prayed to actually listened. Only Blaze knew it wasn’t a god’s doing, but the Collective’s.

These fuckers just won’t let me rule in peace, would they?

Blaze clicked his tongue in annoyance. That was exactly how he felt. As the years had passed, the divine regard Blaze held the Collective in also faded away.

Now, to him, they were nothing more than annoying beasts capable of killing him with some effort. But that was the thing. He knew the Collective would never put ’effort’ before ’entertainment’.

Blaze looked up.

He couldn’t see any ships hovering over the planet, but he knew there had to be an observer ship there. The fools aboard the ship must have decided to intervene in the matter on their own.

"Why are you interfering when I haven’t gaslighted you to?"

The Deca tribesmen immediately imagined that their god had said those words to the other gods who helped the traitor. Well, they weren’t really wrong. Although the correct analogy would be more like a demigod talking to sovereigns among the gods.

Kais got up, glaring at Blaze.

"The gods... listened to my prayers!" he exclaimed, smirking. "It’s time for your demise!"

Blaze took one look at him and sighed.

There was no way the people aboard an observer ship had the authority to reverse all the injuries Blaze had caused. At most, they had made Kais numb to his internal injuries.

But if this idiot keeps moving, he’d cause irreversible damage to his internal organs!

Blaze gritted his teeth in frustration. It was as if the Collective hadn’t intervened for mere entertainment, but to deliberately ruin his plans.

Kais saw it and mistook his actions for something else. Something akin to fear mixed with anger. But a moment later, he smiled.

"Laughing at the end of your life?" Kais asked.

"Not at all," Blaze replied, still smiling. "It’s just that your value in my eyes just increased tenfold."

Kais was excellent, as he had been before. But if he indeed got something from the Collective, then it made him more valuable. Not to mention, not just anybody would be capable of fighting with multiple ruptured organs.

All the facts combined, Kais had just become an invaluable treasure in Blaze’s eyes.
