Chapter 2763: Draw

Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Outside the Demon Suppressing Temple’s square, despite several hours having passed, the square remained crowded with a large number of Holy Realm guards and priests.

Not only had the number of people not decreased, but it was actually growing.

Many curious followers, having somehow heard about the events, had secretly come to watch.

The inheritor of the Great Sage.

Many followers wanted to witness this moment firsthand.

Had it not been for the entire God Pillar domain being under a state of martial law, even more followers would have gathered.

...

Hain, however, had no time to pay attention to these followers. His stress was overwhelming.

It had already been over three hours.

His unease was growing stronger.

What if Fang Heng had encountered some kind of problem? What should he do then?

He would inevitably be held responsible.

But if he interrupted the trial now, wouldn’t that interfere with Fang Heng’s advancement to the Great Sage level? Wouldn’t that make him an even greater sinner?

He decided to wait a little longer.

If there was still no sign of progress after five hours, he would have no choice but to forcibly end the trial.

Hain set a time limit for himself.

As he anxiously waited, a priest hurriedly approached from the crowd and whispered something into the ear of the High Priest, who was in charge of the Demon Suppressing Temple.

“Why are you speaking in such a secretive manner?” Hain’s mood was already terrible. He glared at the priest and barked, “What’s going on? Speak!”

The priest, caught under Hain’s intense gaze, trembled slightly and quickly lowered his head, saying, “Report, Army Commander, High Priestess, just now there was an anomaly in the energy flow within the Demon Suppressing Temple.”

Hain’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately let out a sigh of relief.

Good!

News had arrived!

No matter what, as long as there was news, it was good news!

This meant that Fang Heng was at least still alive and still attempting the trial!

Hain’s mood had gone through a rollercoaster of emotions, but his face revealed no trace of his inner feelings. He turned toward the High Priest, who was in charge of the temple, and coldly asked, “High Priest, what does he mean by that?”

The High Priest, listening to the report from his subordinate, wore a puzzled expression and replied, “I’m not sure, but I can confirm that the energy fluctuations are not an issue within the Demon Suppressing Temple. It’s most likely that someone has interfered with the magic array.”

“Could it be Fang Bai?”

“Most likely. Otherwise, it would be too much of a coincidence. After all, in all these years, there has never been a precedent for demons damaging the magic array.” The High Priest thought for a moment and continued, “In this case, we could consider temporarily opening the entrance of the Demon Suppressing Temple to investigate and ensure the magic array is secure.”

“No need,” Hain interrupted, raising his hand. “This could very well be part of the Great Sage’s inheritance trial. We should not interfere.”

“You’re right.” The High Priest nodded and signaled his subordinate. “Continue to monitor closely. Report any anomalies within the Demon Suppressing Temple immediately.”

“Understood!”

Meanwhile, Fang Heng once again stepped into the seventh basement of the Demon Suppressing Temple, where the Wrath demonic seed was sealed.

The Wrath Carlyle, affected by the power of the Demon Suppressing Temple, was sitting cross-legged at the center of the sealed space, surrounded by a holy barrier.

“Eh?”

Carlyle sensed the approaching presence, his eyes snapping open. Upon seeing Fang Heng once again, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.

“Interesting, a defeated subordinate, and you still dare to come back.”

Fang Heng stepped out of the teleportation magic array domain, gazing at Carlyle with no sign of hesitation. With a provocative tone, he retorted, “Defeated subordinate? Who are you calling that? I just happened to encounter some urgent matters outside, so that doesn’t count as a loss for me. Let’s go again.”

“Hahahaha! Good! This time, I’ll tear you apart!”

Carlyle laughed with rage, his aura and strength erupting, as a holy barrier that had been enveloping the central space of the Demon Suppressing Temple shattered with a thunderous boom!

“Whoosh!!!”

Unlike last time, this time, Fang Heng shot forward first.

Attack!

Carlyle also threw a punch!

“Bang!!”

In mid-air, the two collided, exchanging a fierce blow, and were both sent flying backward!

“Whoosh!”

Huh?

Carlyle let out a slight gasp.

As the battle raged on, thick vines began to surge from the purple teleportation passage behind Fang Heng.

What were those?

Instinctively, Carlyle sensed a threat emanating from the vine creatures.

For a brief moment, Carlyle’s attention wavered, and Fang Heng closed the distance once again.

“Bang!”

Carlyle was sent flying back by Fang Heng’s great sword strike.

Taking advantage of the opening, Fang Heng taunted as he pursued, “Heh! Focus on the fight, will you? Don’t end up kicking the bucket!”

“You brat!”

Carlyle glared fiercely at Fang Heng, his anger rising rapidly. His physical attributes surged once again, and he charged straight at Fang Heng.

“Boom!!!”

The two collided once more, both sent flying backward.

“Come again!”

With the enhancement from the Wrath demonic seed’s talent boost, Carlyle recovered faster than Fang Heng, his feet leaving two shallow craters in the hardened ground as his body stalled for a moment, before launching himself back toward Fang Heng.

Carlyle believed he had figured out Fang Heng’s capabilities.

Indeed, Fang Heng was strong.

But not as strong as his enhancements!

Wait… what?!

Carlyle’s pupils suddenly constricted as he was about to close in on Fang Heng.

He realized that Fang Heng’s aura had suddenly shifted. The holy aura vanished in an instant, replaced by a powerful undead energy wave!

What the hell!

Almost simultaneously, Fang Heng’s holy great sword was switched out for an undead scepter!

“Boom!!!”

The scepter collided heavily with Carlyle’s incoming punch.

Caught off guard, Carlyle was sent flying backward by the blow, immediately feeling his lifeblood surge uncontrollably. He also suffered from additional negative effects of the undead element, including weakness, corrosion, soul freeze, aging, and more.

What was happening?!

It was undead energy?!

Carlyle was slammed hard, his mind full of doubts.

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.

That guy!

Why did his strength suddenly take such a complete and drastic turn?

And after the transformation, his power level seemed to have increased so much?

Wasn’t he from the Holy Court?

How could he wield undead powers so smoothly?

Before Carlyle could process everything, he suddenly felt something controlling his body.

Huh?! Vines?!

Carlyle, who had been sent flying backward, suddenly realized that, without his noticing, the area around him had been completely surrounded by dense vines, forming a giant net that trapped him in the center.

As soon as his body came into contact with the vines, an extremely strange sensation surged through him.

It felt like the weakness of necromancy but with some fundamental difference.

Not good!

A sudden sense of impending danger shot up in Carlyle’s mind.

His strength… was being extracted!

Carlyle immediately realized where this strange sensation was coming from. He was about to try to break free when he looked up again and saw Fang Heng already closing in on him once more.

“Get away!!!”

With a roar, Carlyle swung his fist forward with all his might!
