Global Game: I Have Portable Store-Chapter 258 - 257: Victory?
"What is this?"
Zhu Wenwu’s expression of surprise froze on his face. He initially thought Su Changxing had successfully slain the monster, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
The "Dean’s" head split into two, swiftly retreating as the blood in the air condensed around it, filling into its body.
In the hallway, the blood from the bodies of the Hunters was rapidly drawn out, turning into blood mist that dispersed into the air.
Others could also feel an outward pull on their wounds, though the effect was minimal.
"What’s going on, was it not killed?"
Su Changxing watched the bizarre scene unfold before him, his heart sinking as he realized things were likely heading in the worst direction.
He quickly reloaded his magazine, and during this process, the "Dean" made no additional movements, retreating to the end of the hallway before stopping.
Su Changxing followed, maintaining a sufficient distance, and repeatedly pulled the trigger, firing. Four Magnum bullets hit the opponent’s forehead with precision, blasting large craters into the wall.
As each bullet passed through, the surrounding blood mist noticeably stagnated for a moment, but then, it began to coalesce in the "Dean’s" direction again.
In a matter of breaths, many Hunter corpses on the ground became bloodless husks, and half a pair of hands appeared from under the "Dean’s" cloak.
Gradually.
A foot also emerged from beneath the cloak, intertwining and weaving blood and flesh into threads that gathered together.
Meanwhile.
Zhu Wenwu also approached the "Dean," appearing fearless as he thrust a sword toward the opponent’s forehead.
He didn’t think much about it, didn’t consider the consequences, and had no thought of what would happen if he died, so there was no fear.
The blade glimmered with a cold light.
With ease, he pierced the "Dean’s" forehead with a sword, embedding it in the wall.
The blood mist in the surrounding space came to a standstill, accumulating in the air, and appearing particularly damp, causing dewdrops of blood to form on many people’s skin, precipitating from the blood mist.
It actually worked!
Su Changxing didn’t expect Zhu Wenwu’s attack to be so effective, hitting the "Dean’s" vitals.
Demon Hunter!
Zhu Wenwu’s role as a Demon Hunter made him adept at handling these filthy monsters.
The "Dean’s" dazed expression changed again, as if filled with rage. Its eyes suddenly turned, widening as it glared at Zhu Wenwu with furious eyes.
"What are you looking at?"
Zhu Wenwu shouted more viciously, his hands continuing to move. He pulled out a long, dark steel nail from his pocket and stabbed it into the "Dean’s" forehead.
This was the very steel nail that Su Changxing had previously removed, which Zhu Wenwu picked up as a spare weapon.
A ripple spread outward from the steel nail.
The nail pierced firmly into the "Dean’s" half of the forehead, with blood seeping from the gaps between the nail and the flesh.
With a twist of the dagger, Zhu Wenwu’s movements quickened, slashing again at the "Dean’s" arm.
Earlier, he was knocked away entirely due to the opponent’s speed, which he couldn’t match, but now, with the "Dean" standing still for him to attack, the situation was completely different.
Su Changxing reloaded the bullets once more and executed another round of shooting, maxing out his output, though not as effective as Zhu Wenwu’s, his attack on the "Dean" was consistently effective.
The balance of victory seemed to tip in their favor.
The "Dean’s" arms and legs gradually disappeared, possibly due to Zhu Wenwu’s interference, causing it to fall into some sort of stalled state.
"Zhou An, don’t just stand there, attack here where I am!"
Zhu Wenwu continued to shout as he kept moving.
Zhou An quickly reacted, throwing a Flying Saber toward the spot where Zhu Wenwu was attacking; one saber after another followed.
He understood that this was a critical moment and couldn’t afford to hesitate, attacking with full force.
The Flying Saber lightly passed through the "Dean," embedding into the wall. It was somewhat effective, not obviously, but with over ten sabers, the effect was noticeable.
Zhu Wenwu slashed wildly with over ten swords, each stroke slicing through the air and stirring up a gust, each one executed with full strength.
The "Dean’s" cracked face bore several blood marks carved by Zhu Wenwu’s strikes, its limbs completely vanished, its skin turning a rotting shade.
Panting heavily, Zhu Wenwu, with a tinge of madness, struck another slash, feeling that the monster was at its limit and this strike could be the end.
This was the innate instinct of a Demon Hunter—to hunt down demons and filth was their duty.
Su Changxing also felt a glimmer of hope, sensing that the "Dean" might be on the verge of collapse, ceasing his fire to watch the situation unfold.
This might just be the case of one entity countering another, with Zhu Wenwu, a Tier Nine, having the ability to kill a Tier Eight being.
The blade slowly descended, moving closer to the "Dean."
Suddenly.
A ghostly green light flashed by.
"You’re really annoying. Why is there a Power User like you?"
"Tao Yi" quietly appeared in front of Zhu Wenwu, firmly grasping the blade.
Zhu Wenwu’s face changed drastically, feeling that he could no longer move the sword, as the opponent’s Power far exceeded his.
"Tao Yi" showed an intrigued expression toward Zhu Wenwu and continued,
"Logically speaking, a role like yours shouldn’t appear in this world, just like how it’s impossible for something clean to exist in a garbage heap full of filth."
To her, Zhu Wenwu’s Ability was like a clean light, slightly discomforting, but nothing more, though she found it interesting.
Sure enough.
It was "Tao Yi" manipulating this entity. The Evil Spirit Priest could control Evil Spirits, so was this an Evil Spirit?
"Originally, you all could have left."
"But you just had to stir things up," Tao Yi looked at Su Changxing with an irritated smile, "So don’t blame me for being rude."
Zhu Wenwu cursed loudly, "You damn hypocrite, wanting to kill while posturing as a saint, filthy monster!"
He had roughly guessed what kind of existence the opponent was, a being that resurrected from the dead.
Such a thing would have been unbelievable before, but now it seemed quite reasonable.
Su Changxing watched Tao Yi from a high vantage point, feeling uneasy, as he hadn’t even noticed how she appeared.
This person’s strength was definitely above the Tailor’s, and based on her Ability’s nature, she could easily overpower the Tailor.
The Tailor’s Ability was within the realm of understanding, plausible even to a materialist, but Tao Yi was peculiar, able to pass through walls, get pierced by bullets, and appear out of thin air, like an Evil Ghost.
This truly left no chance of victory.
Su Changxing even began to regret not making a deal with that unknown entity before. It didn’t seem extremely malicious. Even if it was, it should have been better than the current situation.
