Chapter 731: 728, [Shining New World] Plot Summary_1

“Nemesis, where are we headed to?” Cat Morning Star stood on the windowsill, took a deep breath of the fresh air outside, then turned to look back at Su Yu.

Her fur shimmered with a deep, mystic starlight, flickering and making her look exceptionally mysterious and beautiful.

“We’re of course going to make money.” Su Yu shrugged and replied, “My current level tops at Rank 7, and I still need to burn a heaping amount of resources to peak it.”

“How much do you need?”

“Well…” Su Yu silently estimated in his mind and answered, “Probably around 500 billion! Including the 200 billion I owe Alyssa, we need about 700 billion spiritual energy coins.”

“700 billion…” Cat Morning Star muttered, her mouth twitching slightly.

...

Although she was just a cat who didn’t quite grasp the concept of currency, she was well aware that it wasn’t a small sum.

Even for the Goldfinch Empire, one of the most influential countries in the evolution world, this was a fortune!

“Where do you plan to get these 700 billion?” Sitting upright on the windowsill, Cat Morning Star asked.

“According to my plan,” Su Yu pondered, “a small part can be procured from the United Government. Considering the current financial situation, 200 billion shouldn’t be a problem.”

“However, the United Government can’t afford the full 700 billion. To earn the remaining 500 billion, the only method I can think of — cross-expansion trades!”

Speaking of “cross-expansion trades,” it’s essential to mention the current expansion pack.

The current expansion is called “Shining New World,” it is the 4th expansion since the game’s launch.

The story behind this expansion is as such:

16 years ago, a God Level player of the Ringing Wind Empire — “Star Realm Wanderer Bard” discovered a sub-plane in proximity to the main plane during a space voyage.

This was his very first discovery of a new plane, so he named it the “New World.”

He announced the existence of this New World to the public without a fee.

Following this, 11 God Level uncanny players from the main plane flocked to the New World for amusement.

While they were partly curious about this newly discovered world, they were also looking for potential profits.

However, an accident occurred when the last God Level player —”Elf Queen Kailantrill” arrived at the New World via the space tunnel!

Apparently, the “God Level Carrying Capacity” of the New World was breached. The moment the Elf Queen stepped into the New World, the space tunnel collapsed immediately!

The collapse of the space tunnel meant they were stranded and couldn’t return. None of them wished to see such an incident occur.

In the following 16 years, they actively cooperated to repair the space tunnel.

However, it seemed like the plane rule of this realm was damaged, and thus, the repair progress was slow.

In the last six years of these 16 years, due to the prolonged absence of the 11 God Level uncanny players, ambitious factions in the main plane repeatedly waged major wars.

This was the backdrop for the emergence of the first three expansions.

At the end of the 16th year, things began to turn around.

At the end of this year, the space tunnel was successfully repaired through concerted efforts of the 11 God Level uncanny players.

All of them managed to return to the main plane smoothly via this passage. Every God Level player was thrilled to celebrate!

But the joy was short-lived as the 11 God Level players who returned to the main plane disagreed about the handling of the “New World.”

While repairing the space tunnel during the past 16 years, every God Level player had more or less interacted with some natives in the “New World,” giving them a fair amount of insight into it.

Based on the observation of the God Level players, the main creatures living in the plane of the New World were a type of humanoid intelligent creatures named “Shining Star Spirit”— that’s where the name of the “Shining New World” expansion comes from.

These intelligent creatures, though named Shining Star Spirits, were actually not that smart, averaging the level of Blue Star’s elementary school students.

The lack of intellect restricted the upper limit of their species’ development.

According to actual observations, the spiritual energy resources in the “New World” was approximately 1/3 of the main plane.

Despite such ample resources, the “New World” only bred one God Level and 11 Rank 7 legends, which was far behind the main plane.

If the intelligent creatures of the main plane had access to these resources, it would be enough to breed four God Level players and 40 Rank 7 players.

Given this situation, Alyssa’s ancestor Kevin Forsythia proposed — to occupy this world and seize the spiritual energy, distribute the seized spiritual energy according to each God Level player’s actual power.

If the natives were willing to yield to the pressures, surrendering a large portion of the spiritual energy share of the plane, they would compromise and not disturb the living habitat of the natives here.

If they resisted, it would not be a pleasant sight — they would kill as many as possible!

Doesn’t this idea sound familiar?

Yes, this is precisely what the Skru Stars are doing to Blue Star.

Kevin Forsythia’s suggestion was agreed with by most God Level players. Besides him, seven out of the other ten God Level players agreed.

But there were also objections to his suggestion.

“Star Realm Wanderer Bard,” “Elf Queen Kailantrill,” and “Dwarf King Heraclius” explicitly objected.

According to these three, they should not interfere with the survival and reproduction of creatures in the New World, but rather, communicate amiably.

It’s acceptable to establish trades based on their abilities. However, naked aggressive actions are intolerable!

Both parties insisted on their views, refusing to give in.

After a week of arguing, the two sides completely separated and formed two large camps, each doing their own thing.

And so, the “Shining New World” expansion pack begins under such circumstances.

Players can join one of the two camps based on their preferences.

Actually, under normal circumstances (which are according to Su Yu’s past life’s storyline), Kevin Forsythia’s camp would have won.

After all, the Kevin Forsythia team’s elite combat power was extremely strong. With an 8-to-3 advantage, they had an absolute upper hand!

But in this life of Yu, there was a turn of events.

The reason was simple — players empathized too much with the natives of the New World!

Looking at these pitiful natives of the New World, the players saw their own reflections.

The players of this life had learnt about the Skru Stars four months earlier than the previous life’s players.

Moreover, in these four months, humans had experienced the most brutal massacre — the Gravitational Funnel Massacre.

In this massacre, more than 10 million Blue Star Humans were killed under the Skru’s butcher’s knife, leaving a permanent scar on the heart of the Blue Star People.

Sharing this painful memory, how could the Blue Star players possibly stand with the invaders?

So, shortly after the expansion pack was released, around 85% of the players joined the “Star Realm Wanderer Bard” camp, helping the natives of the New World resist the formidable invaders.

Although the remaining 15% of the players did join the invaders’ camp, there were many who intentionally joined intending to betray them.

Hence, the players intended to rewrite the storyline with their own hands.
