Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 62: Ch : Goddess Medusa’s Heir
"Master, can I ask who this person is you’re looking for?" Ruina asked while carrying Bella through the night sky.
The sky was dark, with a crescent moon hanging high, providing just enough light to illuminate Bella’s tired expression.
At Ruina’s question, Bella displayed a soft smile, as if recalling cherished memories.
"We’re searching for a Skylord named Aegis. And he is also the one I love."
Ruina didn’t understand what love was, but she definitely knew of Aegis. After all, he was the talk of everyone recently.
They continued to fly for hours, encountering many colossal Titans that obstructed their paths.
Sometimes they paused and fought, and other times they fled quickly after sensing Titans that were clearly out of their capabilities.
Bella seemed very tired.
But with her singular goal driving her search, she didn’t care about the exhaustion.
However, this blind search seemed to be leading them nowhere. They searched far and wide, traversing hundreds of miles, and yet there was no sign of Aegis.
But—They didn’t know: Bella and Ruina were unknowingly close. They had already passed the boundaries of the Gravenia Kingdom and were now hovering near the very edge of the territory where Aegis was currently hunting.
However, the darkness of the night sky was suddenly punctuated by an eerie pressure.
Rumble. Rumble.
At that exact moment, several overwhelming silhouettes ascended from their slumber, instantly blocking their path.
Bella signaled Ruina to pause, her eyes narrowing in fierce concentration. Perched atop the silver dragon, she quickly assessed the situation, her vision cutting through the gloom. The numbers were clear and terrifying:
Approximately 100 Earth Titans were slowly closing in from every direction, forming a colossal cage around them. This was no random hunt. Every one of these Titans was ranked above Count Rank, and terrifyingly, a few of them achieved the colossal size and power of Marquis Rank. Their immense, mountainous bodies stretched so high they seemed to graze the low-hanging clouds.
"Master, should we retreat?" Ruina asked, panick raising in her draconic voice.
"It seems we cannot," Bella replied coolly.
Hearing her master, Ruina instinctively tilted her head back and gazed upward, letting out a horrified gasp in return.
Directly over them, obscuring the crescent moon entirely, was a singular, gargantuan Earth Titan. Its body alone seemed to cover the vast expanse of the sky.
Then, the final, terrifying piece of the trap was revealed. Massive, segmented roots, thick as city bridges, protruded from the colossal Titan’s belly and began to quickly burrow into the very Earth beneath them.
It was a perfect, inescapable encirclement, trapping them both on the ground and in the air, just like a spider meticulously sealing its prey.
"What should we do, Master? We’re outnumbered," Ruina pleaded, fear palpable in every scale.
"What else? We fight." Bella stood up abruptly on Ruina’s back.
Raising her silver scepter high above her head, she shouted regally,
"Come out!"
Her words echoed across the silent sky and land.
She spoke not to the Titans, but as if she were already aware of other, hidden lurking presences nearby.
"Hmm, how intriguing!"
The voice belonged to a female, melodic yet mixed with malice.
Stepping out of the shadow and into full view was a woman of striking, if unnerving, beauty, possessing large breasts and other voluptuous assets. On her forehead rested a creepy third eye.
However, what was even more horrifying was her hair. Coiling, dark snakes writhed and hissed, rooting directly from her scalp.
Following her were several naked men, their eyes hollow and vacant, as if their souls had abandoned their bodies.
"Look into my eyes, Bella Sinclair. I’m your beloved!" the woman purred, keeping her eyes fixed onto Bella.
Bella’s mind raced, quickly recalling a legend she had heard from Arlan in the past, who had been a devoted collector of fantastical lore back then.
Medusa, A monstrous gorgon with snakes for hair, whose gaze alone could petrify any living creature into stone.
"Ruina, don’t look into her eyes! Keep your gaze fixed on the Titans," Bella ordered quickly, while she, too, carefully avoided meeting the Gorgon’s petrifying gaze.
Seeing this, the woman, known as Medusa frowned deeply.
And yet, a slow, amused smile stretched across her lips, as if the unfolding chaos was merely a predictable act in her grand design.
"Fufu," she cooed. "I confess, I’ve been setting baits for random prey, but I never expected the Ice Goddess’s Heir to personally stroll into my snare. I must say, I am quite a lucky person, aren’t I?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Bella still did not meet her gaze. Her face was the same one she wears in her all battles and before her subjects: Cold, sharp and calculative
"And you must be the Snake Goddess Medusa’s Heir?" Bella said.
Medusa’s lips twisted into a sneer of proud recognition.
"You’re surprisingly well-informed. Did the Ice Goddess Skadi fill you in on everything? The true history of Eternia?"
"You mean about their cowardice? How they abandoned the whole world precisely when it needed them most? Yes. I know everything," Bella admitted, her tone utterly indifferent.
"You don’t look too pleased, Bella. Don’t tell me you harbor soft sentiments like the others?" Medusa mocked, her eyes glinting.
Bella shook her head,
"Not really. It is simply that I believe things could have gone differently. There should have been other solutions. Something that could have save the inhabitants lives.
Anyway, their lives or deaths do not concern me now. All that matters is the survival of myself and my people."
Medusa began to decrease the distance between them, her approach slinking and predatory.
"Then, stand with me, Bella. Together, we can reign over the world. There will be no force capable of stopping us."
Her eyes, full of dark desire, lingered over Bella’s curvaceous figure.
"Do not worry, Bella. I will not cause you harm. I can give you everything you could ever require."
Swoosh!
Just then, a colossal, razor-sharp Ice Sword materialized and shot forward from behind Bella, aiming directly for Medusa’s neck.
Medusa, despite her lightning-quick reflexes, cried out as the blade sliced cleanly through several of her serpentine locks.
She glared down at the falling drops of viscous, dark-green blood, while all the remaining snakes on her head hissed in furious unison.
"Argh! Damn you, bitch!" She lunged forward with a mad and murderous glint in her eyes.
Simultaneously, the enormous Earth Titans and the frenzy of Naked Men moved to attack as well.
Bella faced the incoming onslaught with unnerving composure.
Landing with graceful precision, she plunged the Silver Scepter directly into the earth at her feet.
"Come forth!"
Buzz. Buzz. Buzzz.
Instantly, monumental Colossal Ice Knights erupted from the ground, forming an impenetrable defensive line. They immediately engaged the charging Earth Titans.
Ruina, the silver-scaled dragon, fought alone against the tide of naked men, unleashing her incredible draconic strength and her Innate Ability: Silver Breath.
"Roarrrrr..."
Her breath attack created a blinding silver radiance that instantly transmuted any living creature it struck into a perfect Silver Statue.
The men caught in the brilliant energy became magnificent, frozen metallic figures.
But they were not quite dead yet.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
To make sure they are completely dead, Ruina’s draconic paws descended, shattering the silver statues with cold, contemptuous ease.
Meanwhile, Bella personally clashed with the Medusa’s snakes.
The serpentine locks expanded into Gigantic Serpents that spat torrents of deadly, dark-green poison.
Bella summoned massive, ten-meter-tall Ice Swords and swept them in powerful arcs, intercepting the corrosive strikes.
The lethal poison splashed onto the surrounding ground and rocks, melting them instantly into puffs of noxious vapor.
Medusa’s expression became utterly bloodthirsty. She manipulated the Earth Titans with her creepy third eye, directing them to encircle Bella.
Bella’s Ice Knights defended their mistress with every ounce of elemental power they possessed.
Boom. BOOOM. BOOOM.
Each strike, each violent collision of elemental power, caused the very earth to shudder and crack.
The Ice Knights fractured into countless crystalline fragments, transforming the surrounding battlefield into a harsh, snowy landscape.
It was in that chaotic moment that Aegis finally arrived.
