God of Money: Reincarnated as the Weakest SSS Rank-Chapter 52: Bet?
Chapter 52: Bet?
As he planned to move, a woman in a rather revealing clinging dress who worked for the Casino approached him.
"Young Sir, welcome to our Casino. Would you like to play a game? Card Games and Billiards are especially active lately."
Louis looked her up and down. ’One of the people trained to make you bet.’ He thought.
He had to praise whoever picked her and all the ones working here. Not only did they pick them with pretty and remarkable faces, but they all have great attributes and a perfect waistline.
Few men who like to gamble could resist wanting to please these women when they ask them to bet more.
He didn’t care, though.
"Take me to play pool. I feel like having a few games." He spoke.
The woman smiled tenderly. "Follow me, please. Our casino has the fairest games of Billiards in the whole City."
Though inside she was thinking, ’A small fry again... Looks like I’ll have good winnings this month. Always the young ones think they know how to play something and bet big...’ A chuckle escaped her lips, though no one heard it.
She was planning the downfall of a new customer in her mind.
Several people were playing in the Billiards area, almost the same as in the card area, which was the busiest today.
There were enough tables, and gamblers were waiting for an opponent, with money to bet on the tables. Some were making bets of thousands; they were the poorest.
The richer ones were betting in the hundreds of thousands, and one person was attracting a lot of attention, as he was betting 3 million against another old man, who was a bad omen but very good.
Louis didn’t bet in the first instance. He looked at the level of all these players and the possible places where they might cheat.
Then he looked at the two players who were betting the most.
’The one who has taken the lead works for the Casino.’ He thought. He could tell by the furtive glances he was throwing at some guards and the local ladies.
This was common in these parts. Almost always, a very good gambler works for the casino and helps them make a lot of money in exchange for a very good percentage of each game.
He didn’t know how this world worked in these circumstances, but one thing he was sure of was that human behavior would always be the same, here and on earth.
Everyone wants profit, over ’real fun’, which is how they seek to sell these places.
While he was studying these people, the lady who was attending to him looked furious.
’Shit, so he’s just a peeping tom. Why are so many rich young men lately the same? This doesn’t guarantee me any profits!’ She was angry, as were many of her companions, but she couldn’t leave by house rules.
Even though their clients weren’t doing anything, they had to stay behind them in case they felt like playing.
Ninety percent of them wouldn’t. The other 10% would maybe be scared when the old local at this table won and would go to post on the thousands.
’Well... I just hope he’s part of that 10%.’ She sighed and planned to go get water. She had a feeling it would be a long wait.
But just then...
Louis held up his left hand with a money card.
"Fifty million in chips. Bring them now." He said, smiling.
The game in front of him was over.
The man the house player was betting against was stunned, watching his 3 million go just like that.
It was hard to process.
He is also a very good gambler and has a very good MMR in this game, having played in many Casinos. He was a veteran.
But he had still lost very easily. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
And what’s worse is that he couldn’t do anything about it. He missed a few times, just like his opponent, but from one moment to the next, his opponent started to put everything in without stopping.
When this happened, what everyone expected happened. Many people put their heads down and ran off to other lower-level tables to compete.
The others turned a blind eye.
It seemed that none of the people present intended to bet with this person.
It made sense. He was so superior to his opponent, who was not bad, that he left them in no mood for anything.
The man with a neatly trimmed beard looked them over one by one. When he saw that no one planned to bet, he leaned against the wall.
"The table is..." He was about to declare that he was clear, he had done his job, but just then someone stepped in front of him and grabbed the cue that had been placed on the table.
’A kid?’ He frowned.
After looking at the cue, he looked at the man leaning against the wall.
"Can I use my cue?" He asked.
The man frowned. "The table isn’t free yet. Go find another one."
"Why would I need to find another one? I’ve arrived at just the table I wanted."
"You want to play then?" He stood up and put several chips on the table. "Five million. If you don’t have that, then go somewhere else to bother. I don’t want to compete with spoiled children." He said, clearly with an intimidating tone.
He wanted to browbeat him into leaving.
But Louis smiled.
"Five?" He asked, almost mockingly.
Then he pulled out his chips and placed them on the table.
"10." His look said either you move forward, or you’ll just be another braggart.
But such a firm stance and the fact that he pulled 10 million in chips out of nowhere stunned the gambling man and everyone in general.
But looking at the woman behind him, still stunned, he had to believe it.
’10 million...’ He frowned.
It was a rather large amount, but he couldn’t be embarrassed.
People to the side were already talking about him. Would he gamble? Or would he back down?
But he smiled.
"Kid, I’ll give you a chance to back off what you said. You should know I’m one of the best players in Velfast." He spoke.
Louis nodded at him. "Yes. Only the best tends to fall into those hands." He smiled.
"If you don’t want 10..." He put other chips on the table. "Twenty will be fine." But his smile became even more evident as he pulled out another one.
In the end...
"50 million. Can you match it? I can still return to the first chips, if you like."
