Chapter 63: Murdered?

In the distance, Jackvin and his group were searching tirelessly for Louis. But they found no trace.

At those moments, someone arrived from another area of the city.

"Nothing?" Jackvin asked.

He shook his head. "Nothing, Mr. Jackvin."

"That bastard." Jackvin clenched his fists and punched a wall in front of him.

But his bones hadn’t finished aching when he saw some figures coming at him, out of the corner of his eye.

Among those was the Lockward’s seventh executioner, who was coming quietly.

"Mr. Lockward." Jackvin immediately greeted him, bowing to him. His subordinates and the rest of the people on the scene did, too.

But he simply shrugged.

"Since the mission was for you guys to kill him, I won’t get into this. But since I see you guys are lost and don’t know what to do, I came to help you find him."

"Do you have any information on him, Mr. Lockward?"

"I know where it is." He shrugged and turned away. "Follow me. Bring explosives. We’re going to blow up part of the city." He said, smiling smugly.

-

A while later, a section of abandoned houses and some with people inside was covered with explosives. They didn’t want to let him get away, but since Lockward didn’t want to fight to make it more fun, they went along with it.

The explosives were concentrated in a small abandoned house.

But that was only part of the attack. They had gathered a lot of people with firearms of different types, even machine guns, to start the onslaught.

The order was missing, and those houses would soon be blown to pieces.

And that order was not long in coming.

"Destroy everything. Create fireworks of our target’s blood, for the enjoyment of Mr. Lockward." Jackvin smiled broadly at the order and suddenly....

The sound of gunfire began to echo through the silent night.

The small abandoned house and those near it fell victim to a deadly onslaught of bullets of all calibers, fired at maximum power. Although they were not magic shots, they still took a terrible toll on the house, which soon became a sieve, even penetrating the walls.

Just then, a chain explosion started.

BOOM*

The front of the most affected house was the first to be blown off, and immediately after that, the whole house.

At one point, the explosion echoed through the entire city, and strange fireworks were created right before them.

Although they were normal attacks, Louis was not at the point where he could resist them. In fact, with his level of strength, even bullets could affect him if he didn’t look for a way to stop them with his pure strength.

Maybe one wouldn’t kill him, but dozens or hundreds of them could. Not to mention the explosions that were so powerful, for these guys didn’t mind killing innocent people for the sake of winning.

All these were the designs of Mr. Lockward present, so no one could object to anything.

And despite the death of innocents, they felt extremely good about doing it. The bastard who had killed the horses of everyone present, who would make them lose billions of dollars just for that, was finally dead.

Could there be anything more pleasurable than that?

With this, the House of Shadows had completed its mission.

The Lockward Executioner beside Jackvin smiled at him and handed him a stack of money cards.

"The mission has been completed. Congratulations."

Jackvin looked at the money cards before putting them away and smiled apologetically at him.

"I’m sorry you had to help us when your time had not yet come. Thank you." He replied.

If the executioner had wanted to, he would not have given him that money, for they did not do the whole job.

But he smiled.

"I was sent here with two missions. The first was to ensure that Louis did not escape, and the second was to help you, " he said, and looked over to where the Ancient Moon people were, a little farther away from him.

They were devastated.

They didn’t know what they were going to do with the race tomorrow. They didn’t have any more horses like that that were as good.

Now that they were dead, they could only race other horses in their places, but then... they’d lose too much.

Billions of Jens. How were they going to recover from that?

The Underworld Princess, despite belonging to the Priestley Family, was trying to make a strange name for herself in the underworld just as a hobby. She wouldn’t stick her hand in for them.

And the Priestleys didn’t really seem to care whether they disappeared or not. Although they support them, the reality is that that support is just words. Just a way for the Priestleys to get in on that side and launder some money.

That desperation was eating away at the hearts of the members of Ancient Moon.

For this, the executioner smiled.

"See? That’s how you can hit three places at the same time. You get rid of a nuisance. You hit the Priestley faction and destroy their minions." Lockward’s executioner patted his shoulder.

"Learn this. It’s Lockward’s style. If you can take control of Ancient Moon with this, it will be up to you."

After that, he walked off in the opposite direction from the fire.

Jackvin was stunned, thinking about what he had just told him.

’They did it to help us too...’ His eyes twinkled. Maybe the Lockwards were starting to look at them with more interest.

Or maybe it was simply a help because they were in the way.

Whatever it was, the current reality was that they had helped him.

Getting rid of Louis seemed to be the least of the issues right now. He hadn’t noticed, but now that they had lost both horses, they could no longer compete.

They had just received a staggering payout, and at dawn, they could still compete with one horse. Although their winnings would decrease, they would still be higher than their direct rivals’.

He couldn’t help but get excited for what was to come.
