Goddess's Yuri harem: Chosing the Empress is hard-Chapter 100: Find the source- Part 1
Chapter 100: 100: Find the source- Part 1
"Leave the guards up to me, Goddess Auriel. I will make sure to get rid of them for us. I recently developed some new magic that would allow me to make people forget what they recently saw and heard. It also makes them lose consciousness for a minute. I just need to remember the spell—"
Sophia sounded excited as she cast the spell, and it made the guards in front of her wobble as they tried their best to keep themselves standing.
But there was no point in them trying to fight against the magic when their bodies were not made to withstand it.
They fell one by one, and Sophia stepped out to check on the humans.
She poked their cheeks to see if the guards would wake up or not and was happy to see that nothing happened even as she did this.
"Phew. Looks like this spell is a success. For a second, I was worried that it would not work. I did come up with this spell on the fly. Indeed, all the theory I put behind this spell seems to be working."
Sophia sounded proud of what she had done, and her happy tone made Auriel hold back from telling her that the spell might have backfired.
As far as Auriel could tell, these guards had suffered some brain damage, and living a normal life would be difficult for them now.
"Lady Sophia, have you ever tested your skill on a human before? What was the outcome?"
Auriel asked as she stepped out of the shadows as well. She tried her hardest not to stare at the bodies surrounding her since it made her feel guilty.
Lady Sophia tilted her head sideways in a way that told Auriel she was comprehending what was being said, but she did not fully understand the words.
"Huh? Why do you ask that? Well, the truth is, this is the first time I’ve used this spell ever since I created it. Whenever I tried to use it before, something happened, so I never got to see it in action until now. I am happy to see that it works just fine." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Sophia told Auriel with a happy expression on her face. She clearly did not seem to care about the mess she had created.
’I don’t think Sophia has any idea what her spell does. Looks like I will need to do some damage control before we head any further.’
Auriel sighed before walking over to one of the unconscious men and placing a hand on his shoulder. Warm golden light surrounded her hand immediately, and the body in front of her absorbed it greedily.
The man groaned as he opened his eyes to look at Auriel. He tried to open his mouth and speak, but he had no energy.
Once that man was taken care of, Auriel worked on the next three as well before she straightened her back and turned to look at Lady Sophia.
"Lady Sophia, maybe it would be for the best if you seal this skill and not use it again. It doesn’t seem to be a good skill to use on people you don’t want to harm."
Auriel told her with as much patience as she could muster.
For her words, she received a tilted head and an almost amused smile from the woman in front of her.
Lady Sophia made a face that said she would think about it, but she never ended up giving Auriel an answer. The goddess had no choice but to believe in Lady Sophia and continue inside the castle with her.

With the guards taken care of, Auriel and Sophia walked further into the castle.
They moved carefully through the dimly lit corridors, aware that any misstep could alert more guards. As they rounded a corner, they came across another guard unit patrolling the area.
Sophia’s eyes lit up with excitement as she whispered."
Alright! Time for round two. Let me just—"
Before she could cast her spell, Auriel firmly grabbed her wrist, stopping her.
"No. Let me handle this it this time. I am afraid that these guards won’t be able to handle what you have to throw their way."
Sophia pouted but ultimately relented.
"You’re no fun. I just wanted to try my ’new and improved’ skill, but I guess I can let it go this time. You will owe me a favor for this."
Ignoring her, Auriel stepped forward and raised her hand, allowing her divine power to flow freely.
A soft golden light spread across the hallway, washing over the guards. One by one, their eyes fluttered shut, and they slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Sophia huffed.
"Mine is more fun. We get to see all these people fall if I take up the mantle. Hey, are you sure I cannot do things my way?"
Auriel shot her a look but didn’t dignify the remark with a response.
Instead, she turned her focus to the large door ahead of them. It loomed ominously, its surface covered in strange markings that pulsed with an unnatural glow.
The sheer weight of dark energy leaking from behind it made the air thick and heavy.
"This must be it."
Auriel murmured.
Sophia, clearly tired of waiting, lifted her hand.
"Great. Let’s get it open."
"Wait—"
Auriel started, but it was too late.
A blast of concentrated magic shot from Sophia’s hand, striking the center of the door.
A deep, echoing boom reverberated through the corridor as the massive structure buckled under the force.
Cracks spread rapidly across its surface before the door shattered completely, the pieces disintegrating into dust.
The instant the barrier was broken, dark energy erupted outward, surging toward them like a living entity. It twisted and lashed out violently, tendrils of shadow stretching forward to consume them.
Auriel reacted immediately, summoning a divine barrier that enveloped them in radiant light. The dark magic recoiled, unable to penetrate the holy protection, but it remained in the air, pulsating angrily.
