Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 695 - 395: Twin Souls Coexist, Protagonist Template, Favored by the Era? (2)
"Absolutely useless!"
After sending off the spellcasters invited from Mage City, Aurora felt somewhat relieved. However, just as she was cursing and preparing to return to the mountain lair, she suddenly paused.
Because she saw a golden dragon figure appear above her Dragon Nest. The majestic dragon head hung low, and the Shining Golden Dragon Pupil was more radiant than the sun in the sky.
Seeing this figure she had dreamed about day and night, the previously irritable and discontented Mother Red Dragon immediately became excited, her body trembling involuntarily, and then she prostrated herself on the ground.
This was precisely the Holy Dragon lord she worshipped with all her heart and was willing to give everything for. Apart from the size being somewhat different from her memory, everything else was exactly the same without any differences.
"Your Highness Noah!"
"It’s been a long time, Aurora. Where is your mate, Bar?"
Noah looked down at the red dragon below, who carried the weight of age and years, and sighed inwardly. The dragon before him could barely be considered one he watched grow up. As time passed, this dragon had stepped into maturity, becoming a Dragon Wife and Dragon Mother, no longer carrying the naiveté and timidity of the past.
It is worth mentioning that this red dragon’s mate was none other than her brother, Bar, who hailed from the same sibling clutch.
In other humanoid races, such affairs would be considered a great violation of ethics, worthy of criticism and moral condemnation, utterly intolerable.
Physiologically speaking, it would also lead to irrevocable tragedies. But for the Dragon Clan, especially the Colorful Dragon Clan, such matters were considered insignificant and were even quite common.
This was mainly because the dragon lineage was strong; compared to many humanoid Wisdom Species, their bloodline was virtually perfect. Thus, even when two bloodlines of the same origin combined, it would not result in deformities, so it didn’t matter in this regard.
Of course, for Dragon Clans closely associated with humanoid civilizations, there were more considerations in this area. Although bloodline levels permitted it, moral codes did not.
"Bar followed your army to another plane."
"I see."
Noah was momentarily taken aback, then immediately understood.
He actually had no strong impression of this pair of red dragons. Even though Red Dragon Bar had shown distinct differences during childhood, its distinction meant nothing under the increasingly dazzling brilliance of Noah. Today, he could only become a part of Noah’s Expeditionary Army, contributing his light and warmth.
For a red dragon eager to release its innate destructive and murderous desires, there was no better choice than Noah’s army—if he dared to escape and live as a wild red dragon, his fate would be utterly miserable.
"No need to be nervous, I just heard that your child showed some anomalies, and my will happened to tour this place. So I came to take a look."
Seeing the fervent and worshipful Mother Red Dragon, Noah explained, it was indeed just his will descending here.
However, he did not just happen to tour here; he specifically came to look. The Golden Tree had warned and fed back to him—a fallen star had plunged into the mountains, merging into a Red Dragon Egg.
Seeing this first-hand through the root network system of the Golden Tree, Noah could not ignore it by any means—besides the feedback from the Golden Tree, he sensed no other abnormalities.
Divine reincarnation.
Noah did not expect that he would witness such a scene, leaving him puzzled yet again: a previously opposing Divine chose to reincarnate in his territory, right under his nose. How confident was this entity in itself?
"Your Highness, please look!"
Upon hearing Noah’s intentions, quite different from her approach towards the spellcasters, Aurora actively presented the Red Dragon Egg with anomalies from her Dragon Nest.
Staring at the Dragon Egg which the Golden Tree had warned about, Noah, unlike the mages who could discover nothing, sensed within the egg, beneath the youthful Dragon Soul, a powerful Divine Soul curled up like a cicada deep underground.
"Interesting."
In the vision of the Ancestral Golden Dragon, now infinitely close to a Dragon King, Noah saw the fragmented Divine Soul closely intertwined with the youthful Dragon Soul, forming a dual soul in perfect harmony.
This method amazed Noah, as it was akin to a six-tusked giant elephant squeezing itself into a cooled, freezing magic-guided box no larger than its fingernail.
Even in today’s spell theory, such matters had no room for operation; it was likely that even proposing such an idea would get rebuked harshly by the most seasoned Legendary Mage. Yet here it was, achieved by a once-fallen Divine, twisting reality.
But that would suffice; Noah’s eyes flickered. If he willed it, even though just his will was present, he could utterly destroy the Red Dragon Egg before him.
This wouldn’t completely sever the rebirth and reincarnation chance of Flame Sun Sovereign Heliers, but it would undoubtedly weaken the already fractured Divine Soul even further.
"Take good care of this Dragon Egg. I have high hopes for it and wish it to become a strong War General in my army someday!"
After pondering for a moment, Noah chose not to violently destroy this Dragon Egg harboring a Divine Soul. Destruction was simple, but he hadn’t thought of a method to imprison the Divine Soul within to extract benefits.
This entity had escaped from the siege of multiple True Gods to reach here; Noah wasn’t confident he could capture it. Since that was the case, it was better to pretend like nothing happened.
"Understood, Your Majesty Noah. I will do my utmost to take care of this Dragon Egg and fulfill my duty as a mother."
Upon hearing Noah’s command, Mother Red Dragon Aurora visibly grew more excited, her scales blazing fiercely as if they were burning, melting the ground beneath her claws into glass-like crystalline.
"No, continue as you were. Do not engage in any abnormal behaviors, and do not spread word of our meeting today!"
Noah glanced once more at the Dragon Egg. The Divine Soul within it was asleep, and unless met with a lethal threat, it would seemingly not awaken.
"Yes."
While Aurora agreed without hesitation, Noah, to ensure everything, invoked the Power of Faith to directly erase the Mother Dragon’s memories of this period.
"What happened?"
Returning to the Dragon Nest in a daze, Aurora glanced at her claw, noticing the Red Dragon Egg she held, enveloped in fiery flames. Her eyes immediately showed disdain, and she tossed it into the corner of the Dragon Nest.
"What a nuisance! If it weren’t for the rewards from the Holy Dragon Lord, I wouldn’t continue raising them—useless wastes, the lot!"
Even while living within the Golden Dragon’s territory, Aurora’s behavior pattern hardly changed. The immersion and influence of the environment couldn’t alter her mindset.
Under her rough ’care,’ out of the four Dragon Eggs laid in the clutch, only two successfully hatched. As two young Red Dragons were born one after another, the remaining two Dragon Eggs showed no signs of hatching, their vitality weakening further. Aurora left the Dragon Nest with two dead eggs.
Crack~ Crunch~
The young Red Dragon, making its eggshell its first meal after birth, chewed quickly on the delicacy before it. When his mother left the Dragon Nest, he sensed danger from his sister born earlier.
"Haven’t you eaten enough? Get lost; these are all mine!"
Leaving behind gnawed bones, the young female dragon fixated on her brother’s eggshell. However, as she leveraged her early advantage to suppress him in the scarce food resources skirmish in the Dragon Nest, an unforeseen event occurred.
Hiss~ Roar~
Originally at a disadvantage and about to lose feeding rights, the young male dragon let out a hiss, and from the depths of his scarlet dragon pupils, a golden gleam burst forth...
