Chapter 706: Chapter 401: Netherworld Engine, Demon King Terramus?

Gurgle~

The sickening smell of blood wafts through the air. As sunlight pierces through, the mist hovering in the sky turns a blood-red color. The once immaculate lawn now lies drenched in gore, and stepping on it causes bubbles to gurgle up, sticky and cloying.

The city garden, once resplendent with flowers and fragrant with their scent, has now become a bloody battlefield strewn with limbs, mounds of corpses towering high. Blood turns into streams that flow warmly to the touch.

Despite the horrifically bloody scene, the surrounding residents show little fear on their faces. Instead, they converse cheerfully, and laughter rings out from time to time amidst the piles of bodies.

The gruesome, unimaginably ugly corpses with their twisted forms are nothing more than heaps of achievements and wealth delivered to the hard-working Dragon-men who clear the battlefield.

Even though the weapons and armor of these sudden foes do not match the stature of the Dragon-men, the material is quite valuable, and disassembling them yields a considerable income.

"Ha, I am the unbreakable Holy Dragon Shield! Pseudo-god heresy, prepare to face the judgment of the Holy Dragon Emperor!"

"Bah, if you’re the Holy Dragon Shield, then I’m the invincible Forbidden Army!"

A group of children, half-grown at most, picked up enemy flags and weapons, playing among the bodies and gore. The Dragon-men tidying up the battlefield only watched on with smiles, finding nothing amiss.

As a people who have lived in Elisium for generations, the Dragon-men have biologically diverged from the species of humans, effectively becoming a new race derived from the Dragonization Domain of the Holy Dragon Noah.

Of course, as a Dragon-man race that has only existed for a few hundred years since its inception, there are still risks of bloodline degeneration or even degradation. However, none of the Dragon-men are currently worried about this because they believe the great Holy Dragon Noah is an Eternal and Immortal being.

"Father, I wish to lead this counterattack in the war!"

Atop the tower, the Golden Dragon Great Lord, who rules the endless Dark Territory, proactively requested from his father.

An invasion war that erupted suddenly, though concluded swiftly, is understood by all—even the children—as but a prelude to a grand war.

Vengeance is the consensus of all under the current order led by the Holy Dragon. No one dares to voice differing opinions because since the establishment and till now, in nearly three hundred years of history, it is the first time a hostile army has set foot in Elisium.

Even though they did not breach the very outskirts of the city suburbs, it is an intolerable provocation and humiliation to the Holy Dragon’s dignity and order.

"It’s good that you have such thoughts, but do you have the power to confront the Divine incarnations?"

Noah first expressed appreciation for his second son’s proactive desire to fight but then changed his tone.

Terramus’s power now is not weak at all; he himself has been promoted to Legend status. More importantly, he has created thirteen mechanical undead equipped with legendary might, possessing independent thought and transcendent wisdom.

It could be said that Terramus could crown himself as King in any Material Realm, but given his special powers, he is more suited to becoming an Undying King.

"I have already consulted with Wayne. If you allow me to lead this war, he will return to Elisium to assist me."

"Wayne? Assist you?"

Noah’s expression became somewhat amused.

Constrained by the threat of Hell’s will, this grandnephew, after completing the race transformation to become a Great Duke of Eternal Night, has seen his power skyrocket; in some respects, he has also reached the pinnacle of the Material Realm.

However, he is neither an Ascender nor a Demigod, but due to the uniqueness of his race, he is capable of confronting these two types of beings. Therefore, to some extent, he has the qualification to battle Divine incarnations.

However, after uprooting the foundations of the Elf Court and leading the Blood Elves transformed by his power, along with a slew of low and mid-tier Elf Tribes that followed him, he went to the Third World gifted by Noah to establish a settlement.

With world conquest as his goal, even a Great Duke of Eternal Night should find himself too stretched to offer further help to a second world.

"Does he have excess power to assist?"

"I don’t know, but he has already promised. I think he has no reason to deceive his uncle."

"That’s not a sufficient reason."

Noah shook his head, gazing at his offspring.

"You can seek my help, but if I enter the battlefield, then the control of the war will not be in your hands. This isn’t what you desire, so if you wish to become the Commander, you must demonstrate to me your means of confronting Divine incarnations."

"Father, do you remember the goblins’ Giant God Weapon?"

Terramus fell silent for a while, then spoke.

"What, have you repaired it? Although the goblins’ Giant God Weapon is powerful, the kind capable of fighting Divine incarnations—let alone manufacturing—even the blueprints of such a weapon seem beyond goblins’ reach?"

"I did not create a true Giant God Weapon. In fact, from the beginning, I did not pursue research in that direction; rather, I combined the technologies I excel in to create the Netherworld Divine Weapon!"
