Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 986 - 540: Shattered World, Savior’s Intent_2
When the meteors crashed to the ground, the wails of despair were sucked into nothingness amid the thunderous roar as if the heavens and the earth collided. It wasn't that the mighty didn't try to save the world, at least to protect some living creatures.
Not to mention the local strong, even those from beyond the heavens also descended with divine power, revealing divine incarnations, hoping to shield their followers from disaster.
But the falling meteor was not a single one; it was a meteor shower. Could a legend block one from falling from the sky, but could they block ten or a hundred? Could they withstand the star fragments crashing down like mountains?
It's not even a legend. Even a Divine can't hold on because the expenditure of divine power is too great, and besides, the Divine finds it difficult to protect everything comprehensively.
As more and more meteors crashed down and the followers were wiped out in large numbers, the original power of divine power from the Divine weakened, until eventually, weighing the advantages and disadvantages, the Divine would choose to abandon.
In just less than half a day, a thriving Material World was shrouded in the shadow of despair and death, with no hope remaining.
All this was just because a few Eternal Immortal beings waged war in the Void Realm where their Material World was located.
"Bastard!"
The mass extinction of species in the Material World naturally affected the state of the World's Garment, and therefore, Noah quickly noticed the anomaly of this Material World and understood why there was such an anomaly in this world.
It's impossible to call for a cessation of the fight, as a character like the Mother of Ten Thousand Snakes, while not actively destroying the world, cannot be expected to actively save the world either.
This Snake Mother walks a uniquely special Epic Path, always striving to expand her lineage in various Material Worlds.
As long as there are enough offspring, naturally, there will be a voice in the matter.
Because of this, she covets various special bloodlines. When Noah was merely an Ancestor Dragon, she took notice of him because he was already different from other Dragon Species at that time. A union with him was bound to create a new snake species that had never appeared for the Mother of Ten Thousand Snakes.
Now that Noah has ascended to Dragon King, he naturally made the Mother of Ten Thousand Snakes even more envious. If she could get the support of a Dragon King, her authority and the Laws she understood and controlled would inevitably advance by leaps and bounds. Unfortunately, this was nothing but her own unrealistic dream.
"Alas!"
A sigh, Noah couldn't bear to have a formerly vibrant Material World destroyed before his eyes, especially since this war involved him.
Noah is not the merciful type. There are countless worlds being created and destroyed in the Void. Noah himself has heard and learned about many, but he rarely extends a helping hand.
He only focuses on the Material Worlds under his dominion. As for worlds outside the Golden Order, they are beyond his help.
"God, what did we do wrong? Why do you abandon us?"
A legend, covered in flowing blood, walked upon the shattered mountains, lost and disheartened, shouting in anger to the being he had admired with utmost respect in days of yore.
He questioned, but sadly, the Divines would no longer answer him. A nearly destroyed ecosystem and a devastated Material World had no value. Even if the Divine exhausted all their powers, they couldn't repair such a world. Even Strong Divine Power wouldn't suffice because it's not their job to do so.
Crack—
After the apocalypse meteors descended, the colors in the sky darkened further. As the surviving legend shouted in anger, a crisp shattering sound rang out, and true silence descended.
The World's Garment shattered. That thin membrane, which formed the sky's boundary in the eyes of Material Realm's creatures, was also the world's strongest barrier.
When this barrier shattered, it signaled the complete destruction of the world. A Material Realm without the World's Garment was like a body stripped of all clothing, defenseless.
Even if vitality still lingered within, it was meaningless, for under the successive assaults of the Void, even legends could not survive long.
"You did nothing wrong. If you must speak of a mistake, it's that your luck wasn't particularly good."
Beside the legendary figure bleeding from the eyes, a figure gave a response.
"Who?"
The legend filled with grief and rage, with disheveled hair, suddenly raised his head, looking at the being that approached without him noticing.
In the past, he would've been full of vigilance, but now that the world is doomed, he didn't care anymore. What difference does living or dying make? To him, none.
"Do you think there's still hope for your world?"
A being whose appearance seemed no different from this lost legend stood before him. Yet, in the eyes of this legend, the unnamed being appeared as high as a mountain and as distant as the sky.
That ethereal yet majestic and sacred aura compelled a sense of worship from within, reminiscent of the idols enshrined in temples. But such a presence and demeanor were far beyond the lifeless idols inside temples.
"Save? How could it be saved?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Hearing Noah's inquiry, the blood-soaked legend couldn't help but burst into laughter.
For when the sky completely shattered and disappeared, the scenes occurring in the Void also presented themselves vividly to the survivors' eyes.
Giant Dragons of unimaginable scale coiled atop the Sky Dome. Staring down imperiously, they collapsed the Void beneath their gaze, igniting all tangible matter into flames.
Seductive-looking Snake-man spiraled on snake balls akin to celestial bodies. Moreover, formless void snakes segmented and snuffed out sea of flames.
The truth of the world's end had manifested before us. The reasons for the world's destruction were now plain as day. Yet, even after witnessing the truth, even the staunchest of minds couldn't help but fall into despair.
"I think there's a chance to salvage it."
Although in common knowledge, once the World's Garment shatters, the world's life begins a countdown, and it's basically irrecoverable.
But from Noah's understanding, this isn't a big deal. Nowadays, the Space-Time Realm governed by Odin is composed of hundreds of broken Material Realms.
This proves that, even though the situation has reached this stage, the World's Garment rules collapse due to the lack of sufficient collective wills, such worlds still can be salvaged.
"What did you say?"
The legend, unable to cope with the immense changes occurring in a short time, his spirit and will heavily impacted, stared fixedly at Noah.
"Don't worry, and don't fear. It's all over now. You must live on, carrying your world's bloodline forward. You are not merely representing yourself now."
After giving some advice, the projection of Noah's will collapsed, transforming into a rain of light rising against the darkening sky dome. Then points of light connected in a web, transforming into a dome of light, once more isolating the shattered world from the Void.
"Do you intend to save the world?"
Noah's actions naturally did not escape the notice of the other few epics present. Noah's intentions were also apparent. Puzzled and incomprehensible gazes were cast toward Noah; they couldn't understand.
Because such a world no longer held the value of salvation, even if it was prevented from collapsing into the Void, what of it? Such a world lacked extra Source Power.
This was the pitiful situation of small-scale Material Realms. Though, for an Epic, destroying such a world posed no difficulty; what comes after its destruction?
Nothing more than a bunch of remnants, therefore, even the World Destroyer is unwilling to waste effort.
"What? Do you still wish to block me?"
Scintillating suns emerged in the Void as Noah summoned more suns, or perhaps the main body. Already immensely powerful, the Dragon King's form continued expanding, imposing a majesty that quieted the worlds, almost freezing time in respect.
