Goodbye, Ex-husband! I'm Pregnant with Your Uncle's Child!-Chapter 56 - Gently Oh
56: Chapter 56 Gently Oh
56 -56 Gently Oh
Thomas Sullivan, “Firing you, Director Quarter promised to cut ten percent of the profits from the new project.”
Reading this message, Julia Land replied with only one sentence, “I must be really valuable.”
She suspected something had happened that made Noah Quarter suddenly want to get rid of her from Dunmore City.
As for what it was, Julia had no idea.
On the other side, Thomas Sullivan looked at Julia’s reply and smirked at Noah Quarter, “I’ll think about it and get back to you.”
He pocketed his phone, stood up, and glanced sideways at Noah, “Julia knows you, that’s really her bad luck.”
Noah’s expression remained unchanged, his demeanor cool.
Thomas Sullivan left the private room with a sneer.
After Thomas left, Noah stood up, grabbed a cup from the table, and smashed it to the ground.
The cup shattered into pieces in an instant.
Alexander Strong came in through the door and, seeing the broken cup on the floor, said, “Chairman, Miss Shaw called for you.”
Noah rubbed his temples and said coldly, “Tell her, I won’t be returning home tonight.”
“Did you find out who sent that letter to the Quarter Family?”
“Not yet.”
Noah left the private room with a cold face, and Alexander hurried to follow.
Alexander didn’t know the content of the letter received this morning, but it was clear that Noah was very angry.
As he got into the car, Noah pursed his lips and hung up on another call from Arabella Shaw.
At that moment, Alexander conveyed the boss’s intention to Arabella.
Frowning, Noah wondered who had sent him the letter, and whether Julia knew anything about it.
The letter included a photo of a young Arabella standing next to the drunk driver.
The driver who had tried to kill Julia.
Noah didn’t want to believe the authenticity of the photo.
Why would Arabella try to have someone kill Julia?
It was absurd.
He couldn’t let Julia stay in Dunmore City any longer; if she regained her memory and found out about the photo, she’d surely seek revenge for Violet.
She’d target both Arabella and his daughter.
Noah didn’t know why he was feeling so restless; in the past, if someone threatened someone close to him, his method would have been to eradicate the problem completely.
But with Julia, he just couldn’t bring himself to act.
Meanwhile, Arabella Shaw, who had just finished an event, got into her car, staring fixedly at the disconnected call.
Was Noah now busy?
She consoled herself not to overthink and then sent a message to Noah.
Arabella Shaw: “Honey, remember to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to pick up our marriage certificate tomorrow.”
Tomorrow was an auspicious day.
She had it picked out by a fortune-teller.
Noah looked coldly at the message and typed out a line with his slender fingers.
“Cancel tomorrow.”
No further explanation, just those two words.
Arabella Shaw’s face turned pale with a hint of panic, “Quick, head back to Imperial View Gardens.”
“Sister Arabella, there’s another event later,” said the new assistant assigned to Arabella.
“I said we’re going back; just tell them I’m sick and cancel the event.”
Arabella’s angry appearance was different from her usual gentle and joking demeanor.
The assistant didn’t dare to dissent.
Back at Imperial View Gardens, Arabella asked the butler, “Has Noah come back?”
The butler respectfully replied, “No.”
Arabella leaned on the sofa, deep in thought.
What on earth had happened that they had to cancel picking up the certificate tomorrow?
James Thompson leaned back in his chair, his head propped lazily on his hand.
Jasper Winters came into the room and reported respectfully, “The photo was sent to Noah Quarter; he went to find Miss Land, intending to get her to leave Dunmore City.”
“She’s in love with that sort of man?

Lost her memory; now she’s an idiot,” James mumbled a cold smile, still looking lazily disinterested.
Jasper didn’t know how to respond to that.
“Miss Sullivan is outside.
She’s suggesting you join her at the music festival.”
The music festival was an event held in Dunmore City, once every three years.
Chloe had never attended such an event as she was previously abroad but planned to check it out after some friends in a group chat mentioned it.
Sophia Hart and Julia Land were also at the music festival.
Two women with plum deer hairbands moved through the crowd.
“Julia, this is livelier than a bar, right?”
Sophia Hart had to speak loudly so Julia Land could hear her.
“Yeah, pretty lively.”
“I’m telling you, there will even be a fireworks event at the end.”
Julia swept her gaze across and suddenly stopped in her tracks.
In the crowd,
James Thompson stood beside the striking Chloe Sullivan.
Chloe, quite bold, laughed as she tried to put a hairband on his head.
He turned his head away, and she didn’t succeed.
Chloe loudly said, “Brother Thompson, you should wear one too, look, other guys are wearing them.”
James Thompson’s eyebrows lifted slightly, “No.”
He lifted his eyes, and his gaze unintentionally swept across Julia, not far away, before turning back.
Blind fool.
Julia pulled Sophia Hart in another direction.
The music festival was scheduled to last until half-past five in the morning, and Sophia Hart wanted to stay until the end.
Julia could only last until three before she couldn’t take it anymore, yawning continuously.
Sophia Hart told her to go home first.
Julia checked the time, yawned, “Just two more hours to go, I’ll wait for you in the car and we’ll head back together.”
“Okay.”
Julia walked back to the car, took a jacket, covered herself with it, and dozed off.
She didn’t know how much time had passed when the car door opened.
James Thompson bent down to enter, sat down leaning against the seatback.
He gazed down at her.
She slept soundly, unaware.
James Thompson unbuttoned his shirt, sitting in a relaxed posture.
The time reached half-past four.
James Thompson leaned over, his burning thin lips brushing against her pale ear.
Gently.
He quietly exited the car.
Julia heard Sophia Hart’s voice from outside the car, woke up, and noticed a faint smell of cedar in the car.
She rubbed her nose, puzzled.
Sophia Hart happily opened the car door, got in, “Julia, we can head home now.”
She turned to speak to James Thompson and Chloe Sullivan standing outside the car, “Brother Thompson, I’m leaving now.
Miss Sullivan, goodbye.”
Julia looked outside and realized that James Thompson and Chloe Sullivan were standing there.
“Sophia, are you really not waiting for the fireworks show?” Chloe asked with a smile.
“No, it’s no fun to watch the fireworks alone.
Let’s go.”
Sophia Hart closed the car door.
Julia yawned, her beautiful eyes hazy, sitting sluggishly.
Watching fireworks together would have been quite romantic.

In the morning, Arabella Shaw went straight to the Quarter Family to find Noah Quarter.
Alexander Strong opened the office door for her, Arabella walked in, and he closed the door.
Inside the office, Noah Quarter worked without looking at Arabella.
“Noah, tell me why you canceled our plan to get married today?”
Arabella’s eyes brimmed with tears.
“Do you have regrets?”
Arabella’s suppressed sobs were the only sounds heard in the office.
Noah Quarter stopped his work, opened a drawer, and took out a photograph.
“Do you recognize this man?”
Arabella, puzzled, walked over and took the photograph to look.
Who took this photo?
Her fingers trembled slightly holding the photograph.
The girl in the picture looked to be about 16, and the middle-aged man beside her appeared to be in his forties.
Arabella looked down, then lifted her head, “I don’t know him, who is this man?
I do, however, remember this place quite well.”
She looked at the photo nostalgically, “I went there once to buy a gift for you, that violin.”
