Gourmet: From a Stall in Northern Europe-Chapter 127 - 113: Hand-Caught Seafood Banquet
"Who is it, are you talking about Anthony?"
The only male who could be wandering around near Dreya's practice room would be Anthony, the bodyguard.
Joel nodded with a face full of fear: "Yeah, that guy feels odd. Last time he even touched my chest..."
"?"
"?"
Dreya and Anna both widened their eyes.
"What the hell??"
"Touched your chest? Who, Anthony??"
Anthony had no enmity with Joel and didn't know him, so the latter had no reason to lie and slander him.
Dreya blinked and tried hard to recall each day she'd spent.
"Now that you mention it, it really happened!!"
Anna seemed to remember something and tapped Dreya's arm several times.
"Remember when Anthony first arrived, and you protested to the manager?"
"Indeed, I was puzzled too. We clearly agreed not to have a male bodyguard, yet Anthony was selected, and the manager assured me it was fine. Now it seems like nothing ever happened."
"Let me tell you, every time we go out for a show, aren't we always wearing sexy lingerie? The eyes of the men under the stage are all green with jealousy. But Anthony, hiding in the dark corner, never shows any emotional fluctuation. I've noticed it several times."
Anna got more and more excited, like a weasel running wild in a melon field.
"It's one thing if he's not interested in me, but it's impossible for any man not to be interested in you, right? Didn't a male celebrity once want to keep you as a mistress? If Anthony's orientation was normal, he'd definitely try to take advantage of you secretly!"
Joel listened and felt increasingly apprehensive, cold sweat dripping on his forehead and his back chilled, as if a pair of wolf-like eyes were staring at him from the dark.
He instinctively stepped back a half step, his voice flustered.
"Uh, I-I better get going first. After all, your practice room should not be entered by outsiders randomly; it wouldn't be good if someone sees me!"
"Oh, you already know that? If I had known, I wouldn't have given you the password then."
Anna hadn't even finished talking before Joel disappeared like the wind down the hallway.
"You really dared to tell him?"
Dreya silently gave her a 'I knew it' look, while Anna laughed awkwardly.
"He feels different from other black guys, after all, he has stayed in Great Xia and speaks quite interestingly."
"So, you two went on a date last Sunday?"
"No!!! I went with my sister!"
"Oh~ you ran into him at the amusement park, got it."
"It's really not true!!!"
Joel swiftly rushed downstairs, pushed open the glass door, and tried to bolt outside. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Ahem, ahem."
Two coughs suddenly sounded from beside him.
His steps faltered.
Anthony leaned quietly against the wall, eyelids lowered, his voice thick and deep.
"Commercial property, entry prohibited without the manager's permission. Can't you see the big sign?"
"Uh... I got Anna's permission!"
"Anna is not the manager. Only what the manager says counts. Her behavior is a serious violation of the rules, and allowing a male to come and go in Dreya's private practice room could result in a pay cut at the lightest, or being blacklisted at worst."
"It's this serious??"
Joel looked a bit dumbfounded, not knowing what to do for a moment.
"However."
Anthony's lips curved upward as he stepped towards him.
"I'm the only bodyguard here, and I handle the monitoring. As long as I don't say anything, no one will know."
"Uh, well, thank you, big brother. I'll treat you to milk tea another day! I have something to do, so I'll leave first!"
"Stop right there!"
A shadow flickered before Joel, and before he could react, he felt his buttocks clench as if caught in a steel grip.
"Mother!!"
He couldn't care less, knowing Anthony's extraordinary skills. He stomped hard, using his weight advantage to accelerate instantly and disappeared around the corner.
Hearing Joel's shout from downstairs, Anna quickly ran to the window, looking out, just in time to see his familiar figure vanish at the street's corner. By the gate stood Anthony, fingers forming claws, making a grabbing motion mid-air with a bizarre smile on his face.
Her face went pale, her little head quickly ducking back inside.
"Amen, poor Joel, God will protect you..."
The sun set in the west.
Dais and Elsa, carrying three large bags and completely drenched, arrived at the yard next to the restaurant.
"I'll call chef and ask if he's free now. Do you want to take a shower first?"
"It's okay, I'll wait for you."
"Alright."
Dais picked up her phone and dialed Lin Chen.
Lin Chen had just returned the food cart to the hotel and was about to go back to his room for a rest when he received Dais's call.
Looking at the time, it was only half-past six, which was over half an hour earlier than he had expected to come back.
Fortunately, he was cautious and liked to leave room for time for everything; otherwise, he would have had trouble finding an excuse.
He decided not to return to his room and headed straight to the restaurant.
"Wow, not bad, a fruitful afternoon indeed. How was the sea, did you have fun?"
Without any pretense, he walked up and bent down to inspect the food in the bags.
Two big lobsters, about a dozen sea urchins, plus palm-sized crabs and several colorful, unknown fish that looked like they had been pierced through the heart by fish spears, and quite a bit of shellfish too.
He only glanced over and didn't look closely; he planned to identify them carefully after dumping them into the sink in the kitchen.
"It was pretty good, really fun. I didn't expect the underwater world to be even more beautiful than on TV."
"That farm is quite large. You have to take a medium-to-large yacht or fishing boat to get there, and the variety of seafood is enormous, simply countless."
Speaking of their diving experience, the two women's faces visibly brimmed with excitement, clearly showing they hadn't had enough fun.
