Grand Return System-Chapter 76: Kings Collide Beneath a Burning Sky
Kings Collide Beneath a Burning Sky
"Three against one... how shameless."
Without another word—
Harrier Taylor lifted his broadsword.
The blade cleaved through the air in a blazing arc, its edge humming as Mana roared through the steel. The swing was simple—no flourish, no wasted movement—just pure killing intent.
Clint Zain met it head-on.
Boom!
The collision shook the entire street of Ashford City.
Shockwaves burst outward like ripples from a shattered mirror. Tiles shattered. Wooden signboards exploded into splinters. The stone pavement beneath their feet cracked in a web of fractures that raced down the long market road.
Bystanders screamed and scattered. Doors slammed shut. Windows shattered inward from the pressure alone.
Both men were King Realm experts of the same generation.
Rivals for decades.
Neither had ever truly surpassed the other.
But today—
Harrier’s fury burned like wildfire.
Clint steadied his stance, his heavy iron hammer rising in a brutal upward sweep. Mana condensed around it in dark-gold spirals.
"Mountain Quake Descent!"
He slammed the hammer downward.
The air compressed violently. The street beneath Harrier’s feet sank several inches as the force crashed down like a falling peak.
Harrier twisted his body mid-strike, cloak whipping violently behind him. He stepped into the blow instead of retreating.
"Blazing Tide Severance!"
His broadsword cut diagonally upward, flame-like Mana erupting along the blade’s spine. The two techniques collided again—
BOOM!
A burst of fire and shattered stone erupted skyward.
The storefront of a spice merchant collapsed instantly. Jars exploded. The scent of crushed herbs mixed with dust and smoke.
Harry shielded his face as debris rained down.
Rias narrowed her crimson eyes.
Selena’s white-silver hair whipped around her face, frost crystallizing instinctively in the air to block stray fragments.
This... was the power of King Realm.
Not daily.
Not common.
When two Kings fought, the city itself paid the price.
Clint gritted his teeth, veins bulging at his temples.
"You’ve grown stronger, Harrier!"
Harrier’s expression remained cold.
"You’ve grown complacent."
Clint roared and leapt high into the air. His hammer spun, gathering Mana like a vortex.
"Crimson Earth Collapse!"
He descended like a meteor.
Harrier did not dodge.
He inhaled slowly.
Then exhaled.
Mana surged from his spiritual core in a blazing column.
"Solar Dominion Break!"
His broadsword erupted in golden-red radiance.
When hammer and blade met—
The sky dimmed.
A pillar of force blasted upward, splitting clouds apart.
The ground beneath them gave way entirely.
A crater formed in the center of the street.
Nearby houses trembled violently; one two-story building collapsed inward with a deafening crash.
Inside Whitelist Restaurant—
Cavir Walton stood by the window, gray robes unmoving despite the violent wind outside.
His black eyes narrowed slightly.
"King Realm against King Realm... truly rare."
Below, Elder Black lay against a broken wall, coughing blood but still conscious.
Harry clenched his fists.
This is what Father carries every day...
The weight of a household.
The weight of pride.
Clint landed heavily, boots cracking stone.
His breathing grew heavier.
Harrier stepped forward.
Each step deliberate.
Each step cracking the earth.
"Yang—"
He corrected himself coldly.
"Clint Zain. You dared raise your hand against my son."
Clint spat blood to the side.
"Your son interfered in my affairs!"
Harrier’s eyes flashed.
"And you thought that gave you the right to strike him?"
Without waiting for an answer—
He disappeared.
For a split second—
Silence.
Then—
A horizontal slash tore across the battlefield.
"Flame Horizon Cleave!"
The arc of Mana stretched nearly thirty meters, carving through the remains of a market stall and splitting the street in two.
Clint roared and raised his hammer vertically.
"Titan Guard Resonance!"
A shield of dense Mana erupted around him.
The flaming arc struck—
Cracks spread across the barrier like shattered glass.
Clint’s knees bent.
He slid backward ten meters before stabilizing.
Shock flashed across his face.
Harrier had always been strong.
But today—
He was overwhelming.
Around them, the remaining Zain experts dared not approach.
Elder White—who had just arrived earlier to stand beside Harry—watched calmly, not interfering.
The battle’s outcome depended entirely on the two above.
Clint suddenly laughed harshly.
"Decades! We’ve fought for decades! And you still think you can crush me?"
He slammed his hammer against the ground.
The impact sent a ring of compressed Mana outward.
"Ruinous Iron Domain!"
The air within a fifty-meter radius thickened violently. Gravity seemed to increase. Loose stones hovered, trembling in midair.
Harrier’s boots sank slightly.
So you’ve learned something new.
Good.
He adjusted his grip.
His broadsword hummed deeply.
"Then let’s end this properly."
Mana surged again.
Not wild this time.
Controlled.
Refined.
The blade glowed brighter—almost white-hot at its edge.
"Ember Sovereign’s Last Cry!"
He stepped forward into the oppressive field.
Each step shattered the pressure Clint created.
Then—
He swung.
The strike was neither fast nor flashy.
But it carried absolute dominance.
Clint’s pupils shrank.
He raised his hammer instinctively—
The broadsword struck.
BOOM!!!
The explosion flattened the surrounding debris completely.
Windows shattered three streets away.
Clint’s hammer was knocked from his hand.
His body flew backward like a broken arrow, smashing through the outer wall of a tea house.
Dust rose.
Silence followed.
The oppressive domain vanished instantly.
Harrier stood at the center of the ruined street, breathing heavily but upright.
The crowd watching from cracks in their doors stared in awe.
Inside the collapsed structure, Clint slowly pushed aside rubble, blood dripping from his mouth.
His arm trembled.
His chest heaved.
Harrier pointed his broadsword toward him.
"Clint—"
He smirked faintly.
"It’s been decades. Is this all you’ve got?" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
