The light lasted only a short while before fading away, and the sky returned once more to pitch-black darkness.

Yang Yi’s attention was quickly drawn to the two mice burrowing homes into the pale grub’s tentacles. Without thinking, he reached back to touch his own back.

The burns hadn’t fully healed yet, and he could still feel some uneven scars.
