Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 673: One Minute
In the blink of an eye, four people were dead.
To be specific, four Rank 2 - Mana Liquefaction Magi died in the hands of another Magus who was also at the same level of strength.
This was an outcome that the cultists hadn’t even imagined in their wildest dreams. To be able to take out not one, not two, but four Magi back to back single-handedly, just what sort of bizarre concept was that?
Out of all the Magi present, the most shocked person was none other than Altan Duskfall. After all, he had spent the most time with Adam.
Throughout the entire evening, he had gone around his estate telling everyone how the two were close buddies and whatnot. While all this while, he hadn’t the slightest clue that Adam could have snapped his neck like a twig.
Altan’s back was drenched in a layer of cold sweat and he thought to himself, It is my good fortune that I managed to keep my head intact till now… if it wasn’t because of the mana contract between us, I’m sure he’d kill me!
His eyes suddenly flashed with brilliance. He noticed that all the cultists around him were busy reeling in from the shock of having four of their comrades die in an instant right in front of their eyes.
Now is my chance!! Altan steeled himself as he conjured a magic scroll from his storage ring. While holding onto his wife’s hand, he brought the scroll to his mouth and tore it.
His mana reserves instantly depleted after activating the magic scroll. But it was worth it.
Rank 3 Spell: Lightning Step!
BOOM!!
The spell from the School of Summoning was the advanced version of the Rank 2 Spell: Foggy Step. It allowed the caster to teleport 90 feet away, leaving behind a thunderous boom in their wake that sounded no different from a lightning strike.
Ninety feet was more than enough distance for Altan and Fern to teleport from underground and reach the surface.
Adam coldly watched them disappear. He couldn’t intervene even if he wanted to. He had signed a mana contract with them that stated he could not harm or kill them.
A sacred oath bound my mana was something even the most powerful Magi had to adhere to, let alone him who was only a mere Rank 2 Magus.
However, he wasn’t bothered about the Duskfall couple escaping. He had already made arrangements to capture them.

The sudden sound of lightning and the disappearance of the Duskfall couple snapped the cultists out of their shock.
"Everyone, get your act together!!" The pale-skinned, bald cultist from earlier took command.
Only now was he beginning to realize why Olin Barrett had ordered fourteen of them to take care of the young Magus standing before them.
Only now was he beginning to realize that not even fourteen Magi would be enough to take care of the young Magus. They would need a whole damn army!
"You four, quick, guard the perimeter! Take care of the zombies!" He hurriedly barked out orders.
"You!" He pointed at the young Magus standing beside him. "Quickly enter the back passageway and call for reinforcements."
"Y-Y-Yes!!" The Magus hurriedly ran toward the back entrance.
"The rest of us will attack this man!" The bald, old man commanded the remaining cultists.
"Are you done?" Adam looked at them with his cold and murderous eyes. He removed his half-mask and threw it away. Then, he raised both his arms and slowly and calmly started weaving hand seals.
"Interrupt his spell component!" The bald cultist roared. "Everyone attack!"

The five remaining cultists all pounced on Adam at the same time. However, it was still too late.
Adam finished casting the physical component of the spell. The next moment, a large magic circle appeared on the ground, spanning a radius of 30 feet around him.
A tyrannical force descended upon the cultists.
Rank 2 Spell: Amplify Gravity!
BOOOM!!
The ground underneath caved in and large spiderweb-like cracks appeared all over. The zombies who found themselves under the pressure of the threefold gravity instantly turned to meatpaste.
Whereas, all the cultists fell on their backs or stomachs, unable to bear the sudden weight on them. The threefold gravity increase messed with their sense of balance and caused them to fall over miserably. Their muscles started to ache and their bones started to creak.
Some of them even felt their internal organs bleed from the sudden pressure.
With just a simple spell, Adam had immobilized all ten Rank 2 Magi!
The cultist who was running toward the back entrance of the chamber was only a few feet away from the domain of gravity. Only a little more and he would have escaped.
But would Adam let him?
With his hands clasped behind his back, Adam calmly walked towards that cultist. He ignored all the other cultists in the way. He walked right past them as if they couldn’t even do a thing to him.
And indeed, they didn’t even have the strength to lift their heads, let alone attack him.
He finally arrived before the cultist who was trying to call for reinforcements. He looked at him with an indifferent face, seemingly pitying his futile attempts.
"Please…" the cultist, a young man in his twenties, gathered the strength to speak, to beg for his life. Tears streamed down his eyes and he desperately pleaded, "Spare… me…"
Adam’s face remained cold and emotionless. He slowly raised his foot and then ruthlessly stomped on the man’s head as if he were stepping on an ant.
SPLAT!
The cultist’s head exploded as blood, bones, and brain matter scattered all around.
Adam’s eyes were indifferent to it all, not a ripple of emotions in them. He turned around and saw that the remaining cultists were slowly getting used to the gravity increase. Some of them had even got up to their knees.
He raised his hands and performed a series of hand seals yet again, delivering final judgment upon his enemies.
Rank 2 Spell: Mineral Spears!
He canceled the gravity spell a split second before he cast the last spell. For a mere moment, the cultists found their bodies free of restraint. They had seemingly found a moment of freedom. However, that was the last moment of their lives.
The ground underneath them trembled and earthen spears containing metal and mineral composites shot up from the ground and visciously impaled them.
As their impaled bodies hung from the dark spears, the life in their eyes slowly faded away, until death finally embraced them.
One minute.
Fourteen Rank 2 Magi slain.
This was the terror of Constantine the Tyrant!
