Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 705: Saratoga Loyalist
Council Keep, Downton Quarter, Ravenfell.
The seven councilors of the city sat at the round table with solemn expressions on their faces. Behind them, stood all the Count, Viscounts, and Barons of the city.
Finally, at the edge of the walls of the circular room stood the Magus guards, the scribes, and the important family members of all the nobles present.
Today was an important day for the city, as they were going to finally begin their assault on the biggest criminal organizations to have ever plagued the city.
In the past few years, thanks to the efforts of the Flynn Family, the Umbra Thieves had been driven away from the city.
Now, however, the time had come to completely eradicate them once and for all.
"My Lords," Sabrina Benton began, her eyes scanning all the councilors present at the table. "The preparations are complete. The day has finally arrived."
Everyone had solemn expressions on their faces. The Umbra Thieves wasn't just any small time band of thieves. It was a proper organization with three Mana Vortex Magi leading it!

It needed to be said that in a battle between Rank 3 Magi, there was the possibility of quite literally anything happening. It could be a draw, it could be that one side died and the other survived, or it could even be both sides dying.
The battle by Magi of such caliber was extremely unpredictable. Unless, of course, the difference in the strength between the two was enormous, the outcomes would almost always be incalculable.
"For this upcoming battle, the Council has agreed upon three of its members to lead the city's forces," Sabrina continued.
"First, Lord Flynn. You have been instrumental in the war against the Umbra Thieves, so it is only right that you be there to conclude this battle."
Brigham Flynn nodded with a solemn look on his old and weary face, "It would be my pleasure to erase them."
Sabrina Benton nodded, her gaze shifting to Qamara's father, Nylian Feno. "Lord Feno, you have personally volunteered to participate in this battle, and for that, the city is grateful. You shall be the one to lead the charge."
"Leave it to me," said the elf at the peak of the Mana Vortex Rank, his eyes gleaming with a cold light.
The Umbra Thieves had a hand in putting his dearest, eldest daughter at risk. For that, he would never forgive them.
The traces of the Cult of Bones had mysteriously disappeared, and the Red Fists had been taken care of. Thus, he could only take out his anger on the Umbra Thieves who were suspected of colluding with the other two.
Finally, as for the third Councilor who would take part in the battle.
Sabrina Benton's gaze landed on an old man who had his eyes closed. He had a head full of white hair and had a sturdy build.
"Lord Ranzenberg, please allow me to thank you in advance. I know how much you dislike getting involved in such matters." Sabrina Benton looked at the fence-sitter with an appreciative look.
Daniel Ranzenberg opened his eyes, emotionlessly gazing at the Lord Marshall of Ravenfell. He then nodded every so slightly before closing his eyes again and slipping into silence.
"Furthermore," Sabrina Benton added. "Along with the Magi led by the three councilors, the Black Legion will also be participating in the battle."
She paused for a moment before turning sideways, "Count Constantine, step forward."
Everyone's gaze landed on a fair young man with striking facial features and piercing dark eyes.
He wore well-fitted black robes and trousers that seemed to have been custom-made for battle. Furthermore, he had donned an ash colored cape that created a splendid contrast with his garments.
A black pointy hat occupied the top of his head, concealing half of his face in the shadows of its brim. And each of his ears was pierced by five obsidian hoop earrings, giving him a wild and untamed appearance.
The councilors had varied expressions when they looked at him. Some looked at him indifferently, some were impressed by his confidence he displayed amidst so many Mana Vortex Magi, while others blatantly showed thier disgust at having to share the same air as him.
Of course, the Tyrant did not care about any of them.
"Lord Marshall," Adam looked at Sabrina and gave a nod of acknowledgment.
Seeing the youth's casual demeanor, Ives Ballard did not hesitate to point it out. He spat maliciously, "Impudent fool! You are in the presence of the rulers of Ravenfell. Show proper etiquette and bow this instant!"
Adam had a thoughtful expression on his face as he started to stroke his chin. "Rulers of Ravenfell? Interesting choice of words, my lord. I was always under the impression that the ruler of Ravenfell had always been the Headmaster of Saratoga Castle. Hmm, perhaps I might have been wrong."
"You!!" Ives Ballard was furious. The boy simply refused to listen to him!
Nylian Feno suddenly chimed in, "Councilor Ballard, the Count is right, you know." His eyes narrowed and he added, "I thought I had mentioned to you before that the Council of Seven are not the masters of this city."
This fucking Saratoga loyalist, Ives Ballard thought to himself in annoyance.
He then glanced at the raven-haired youth, full of indignation.
Once again because of this gutter-born boy I am being embarrassed in front of everyone. I hope you die the most cruel death!
At that moment, Adam glanced at him and displayed a polite smile, "Lord Ballard, please control your fury. You aren't young anymore, and anger is bad for your health.
"I have heard stories about angry old fools with one foot in the grave bark back every time a dog barked at them. Anyways, their anger caused their hearts to stop functioning and they died."
His smile turned deeper and he added, "We wouldn't want a high and mighty councilor such as you to die out of anger now, do we? That would be such a loss."
"You low-born cunt!" Ives Ballard roared. "You dare threaten me?!"
"Threaten?" Adam asked innocently. "But I'm only worried about your health, my lord."
