Guide Me If You Dare-Chapter 124: UNINVITED GUESTS (1)

[During the Top 5 Guides’ video call meeting a few days ago...]

"SO, SINCE I pissed off Eun Rina, I’m sure she’ll target me during the party. She’ll probably use Yang Youngjae since I can tell that Yang Youngjae is already under her control. I’m 100% sure they’ll attack me once they get the chance."

Bambi nodded, agreeing with Noh Yuno’s claim. "Yes, that’s what I thought as well. You’re good at pissing off your opponents, after all, Guide Noh Yuno-ssi."

He could see the different reactions of the other four elite Guides on the split screen.

Noh Yuno remained stoic.

Mo Hanjin was, as usual, busy playing a mobile game on his phone.

Kim Jaeha, the youngest, looked flustered as if he was afraid a confrontation would happen.

Only Rebecca showed a lively reaction by laughing out loud while slamming her hands on the table.

I don’t think my silly banter with Noh Yuno is that funny, though.

Anyway...

"Then we don’t have to worry about you even if you become Guide Eun Rina-ssi’s target," Bambi said calmly. "I’m sure Gayoon Hyung won’t let anything bad happen to you."

"Right. I’m confident I’ll survive because I have Gayoon Hyung. But I’m worried about you all," Noh Yuno said bluntly. "We suspect that we have at least two serial killers on the loose. Attacking me might be just their way to distract you. So, we have to make a plan with the assumption that we’re dealing with two serial killers."

"Yah. Wait a minute," Rebecca complained. "You make it sound like our Espers can’t protect us, Noh Yuno. Whether it’s two or ten serial killers, our Espers are capable of protecting us. So, why are you worried about us, huh? That’s insulting."

"Oh, it’s not like that," Noh Yuno said, still indifferent. "Of course, I know that your Espers will protect you. But I’m worried because you’re not as skilled as me as a Guide."

It may sound arrogant to other people.

But all of them who had witnessed Noh Yuno’s excellent skills as a Guide couldn’t refute his claim.

Hence, everyone was rendered speechless.

Everyone knows Guide Noh Yuno-ssi is from the Lab— but only a few know that he’s an E-Class Guide. Most Guides just think Guides from the Lab are a bit more special than those who weren’t raised there.

"Alright, you already made your point," Bambi said, and then he quickly changed the topic. "Guide Noh Yuno-ssi, who do you think the second serial killer will attack after you?"

It could be anyone among the remaining Top 5 Guides.

But, even though Bambi hated to admit it, Noh Yuno’s insights as an E-Class Guide might be more useful than any of the other Guides’ ideas combined.

Hence, he had to ask.

And Noh Yuno didn’t disappoint him.

"This is just my hunch, but I think the serial killer’s next target would be..."

IT HAPPENED so fast.

Bambi froze in shock when Yang Youngjae and Eun Rina suddenly shot up in the air, bringing Noh Yuno with them using Yang Youngjae’s ability to control gravity.

He thought Ki Gayoon would immediately follow.

However...

"Are you not going after them, Gayoon Hyung?" Bambi asked, confused. "Guide Noh Yuno-ssi was just taken away."

"Not yet," Ki Gayoon said, looking up at the hole above where they could see Noh Yuno flying upwards nonstop. "Three minutes— that punk asked me to wait for three minutes before coming to his rescue."

And you’re listening to him even though you’re known for doing whatever you want?

Ki Gayoon may look calm outside, but anyone he could sense Mana could tell that Ki Gayoon was seething inside.

That made Bambi jealous.

I doubt Gayoon Hyung would make that expression if I was the one taken away.

"Bambi," Ryu Sungbin called him, covering his nose and his mouth with his hand. "The second serial killer is here."

As if on cue, the weaker Espers in the hall fell one by one— unconscious.

Ah, it must be that strange powder that Sungbin Hyung discovered.

"Espers, protect all the Guides here with your lives!" Bambi yelled, and then his eyes searched for the person he needed at the moment. "Esper Matthew-ssi!"

"I’m on it, Bambi-ssi."

Matthew then hopped into the air as if he were stepping on invisible steps, and then he clapped his hands once.

A strong gust of wind blew into the grand ballroom.

Everything became chaotic because of that, but it was needed to blow away the strange dust in the air.

However, since they didn’t give a public announcement, the Espers who fell unconscious earlier had now woken up— and were on the verge of a Rampage. Hence, their Guides immediately cane to their aid.

On the other hand, the undercover Awakened Department Police agents were busy evacuating the guests and the Civilians.

And the Top 5 Guides...

Argh!

Bambi let out a sharp gasp when a severed hand suddenly appeared out of nowhere, clutching at his chest.

And then he felt it.

This hand is trying to break my Core!

The severed hand only stayed attached to him for at least two seconds before Ryu Sungbin grabbed and crushed it.

But if Guide Noh Yuno-ssi didn’t teach us how to protect our Cores, I would have died.

"Are you alright?" Ryu Sungbin asked worriedly. "Is your Core alright?"

"Yes, I’m fine. My Core is safe, too," Bambi said, and then he turned to his colleagues. "The others..."

His fellow Top 5 Guides were also attacked by a severed hand.

Rebecca was safe because Jin Sooin destroyed the severed hand with her bare hands.

Mo Hanjin was also safe because Lee Sarang was there, freezing the severed hand and breaking it into tiny pieces afterward.

But Kim Jaeha...

Bambi’s eyes widened a bit.

No...!

"HYUNG, take down the walls, please," Yuno said, gently patting Ki Gayoon’s arms around his shoulders. "I need to guide Esper Yang Youngjae-ssi back to his senses."

As expected, Ki Gayoon clicked his tongue. "I can bring that bastard back to his senses with a punch."

"He’ll die if you do that, Hyung."

"Even better then."

Aigoo.

"Hyung."

"Fine," Ki Gayoon said, sighing before "unwrapping" his arms around Yuno’s shoulders. "But I’ll bring that bastard to you, so stay put."

"Okay, Hyung."

Ki Gayoon then snapped his fingers twice.

The walls around them collapsed, and the scenery also changed.

Oh, we’re now inside Gayoon Hyung’s dungeon.

After all, they were suddenly in the middle of a forest.

It was the same trick Ki Gayoon used to beat Yang Youngjae during their match, and it worked again since Yang Youngjae wasn’t in his right mind.

"Argh!"

It was as if an invisible force pushed Yang Youngjae towards them.

Yuno knew that Yang Younjae wouldn’t slam against him, but he still flinched since the Esper was flying towards him in an alarming speed.

He’s not going to hit me, right?

Fortunately, his fear didn’t come true.

A wall emerged from the ground— and Yang Youngjae slammed hard against it.

Then the wall— now with long cracks all over it— collapsed at the same time Yang Youngjae did.

The poor Esper’s forehead and nose were bleeding because of the impact.

If Esper Yang Youngjae-ssi was an ordinary person, he would have broken his face already and died from it.

"Hyung, this is too much..."

"That’s what he gets from trying to attack you. I don’t care if he’s in his right mind or not," Ki Gayoon said casually. "Stay here, Noh Yuno— I’ll catch the brat who ran away."

Oh, right.

Eun Rina disappeared.

"Take care, Hyung."

Ki Gayoon just nodded before disappearing from Yuno’s side.

Now it’s time to work.

Yuno squatted down next to the unconscious Yang Youngjae on the ground. "Esper Yang Youngjae-ssi, this is Guide Noh Yuno. I’m sorry, but I have to perform an Emergency Guiding on you. Hence, I have no choice but to touch you without your permission." He then placed his hand on Yang Youngjae’s back. "I’ll apologize to you later."
