Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 189: Pushed her down
Yuan Ni never expected Shao Xia to attack him. His eyes went wide with shock as he fell into the heavy current of the stream.
"Save me!" Yuan Ni tried to swim back up, but because Shao Xia had attacked him with her totem energy, it made it difficult for him to break through the surface. The flow of her totem energy had disrupted the flow of his own, which made him as vulnerable as someone who had no totem within their body. His head bobbed up and down as he tried to swim his way out of the violent waters. "Save...hah...save me." He shouted while looking at Shao Xia. She had once saved his life; certainly, she would do it all over again, right? She didn’t mean to hurt him just now—she definitely didn’t mean to hurt him. She would come to save him; he trusted her—she would!
However, even when his body continued to drift down the stream over to the waterfall and Shao Xia didn’t move, Yuan Ni’s heart couldn’t help but lurch to his throat. He parted his lips and shouted, "Shao Xia!"
Shao Xia stared at the mer who was frantically trying to save himself. Her eyes flashed, and she took a step close to the shore, but after taking two steps, she paused. Why was she even trying to save him? If this mer died, then she could still push the blame on Ruan Chanchan’s head and tell everyone that she was the one who pushed him into the water because she was angry at him for causing trouble for her.
That’s right. With such a good opportunity presented in front of her, why would she save this mer and cause trouble for herself? She might as well let him die. Her heart, which had softened a little, turned hard almost at once. She glanced at Yuan Ni one last time before turning around on her feet and heading toward the cave dwelling.
Yuan Ni’s face and body were almost engrossed in the water, but he still saw the fierce look on Shao Xia’s face. Even though she didn’t say anything, that look in her eyes was enough to let him know that she was not going to save him. All of a sudden, the hope in his heart diminished.
Shao Xia, you really are ruthless.
Yuan Ni’s heart turned cold. All these years, he had given his best to Shao Xia, and yet when the situation called for it...she actually turned her back on him? That too so resolutely. Yuan Ni sucked in a breath, feeling as if the world was coming to an end. He closed his eyes and stopped struggling. Fine, since she wanted to watch him die so much, then he was going to die for her to see. Since his death was what made her happy, he would do it for her.
Yuan Ni allowed his body to be washed down by the fierce current of the river.
Plop.
The sound of someone jumping into the river echoed in his ears, and his cold heart turned warm—did she return for him?
Water moved around him in circles before someone reached out and circled their arm around his waist and pulled him upward. Their actions were smooth and clean, and with Yuan Ni not fighting against the current, it didn’t take long for the two of them to break through the surface of the water.
Yuan Ni gasped as soon as they surfaced through the water; he took in big gulps of air and turned to look at the person who had helped him. However, as soon as he turned to look at the person who saved his life, his heart fell back into the pit of his stomach.
"You?"
Ruan Chanchan was struggling hard as she dragged the mer out of the water. Upon hearing his voice, she turned to glare at him and said, "Good, it seems like you haven’t fainted. Now help me. Do you even know how heavy you are? " She was nearly dragged down by him. She was not a totem warrior; thus, her strength was not as great as the others. She almost died while trying to save the life of this mer.
As she dragged and pulled the mer to the shore, her red hair, matted with water, stuck to her slender neck and back. With the water sticking to her skin, a small red mark appeared, and Yuan Ni’s eyes widened when he saw the mark. Maybe it was the shock that he had received upon seeing the mark that caused his body to turn stiff.
It only added more weight to the baggage that Ruan Chanchan was carrying, causing her to close her eyes and grit her teeth as she inhaled heavily before releasing the breath that she had taken. Ruan Chanchan pulled the mer to the shore and, with one last tug, she dragged him onto the land and questioned angrily, "You bastard. Are you really trying to do me in? Do you even know what will happen if you die tonight? Even if you want to die, then you should at least for a few days! That way, I will not be entangled with your death."
Ruan Chanchan was really angry. She couldn’t understand why this mer was so determined to die, and even if he wanted to die—why did he have to die when she was around him? Fortunately, she saved him just now. If he had died when she was not in the territory, she would have been caught and burnt at the stake by Shao Xia.
"I mean, even if you want to die, look for a place where you will not harm anyone innocent! " Ruan Chanchan exclaimed, feeling frustrated by the selfish actions of this mer; however, even when he was beaten to a pulp by his grandmother, he was still as stupid as ever. How could he just jump in the river like that without caring about anyone?
She was still speaking when Yuan Ni reached out and pushed her down on the hard, cold floor.
Ruan Chanchan: "..." ???
