Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 202: Lost a good thing
Chief Xie now believed whatever Ruan Chanchan told her. So, when she heard Ruan Chanchan say that they should look for a cave with a pool of water she knew that it was because of some reason.
Her eyes lit up, and she nodded before saying to Ruan Chanchan, "This is really smart. The idea that you came up with is something different. What is the explanation behind this process?"
"It’s simple, just look for a cave where snow or icicles usually form in winter. There must be a pond close to it that we can use."
Chief Xie’s eyes lit up when she heard Ruan Chanchan’s response. She hurriedly nodded and said to Ruan Chanchan, "Yes, there is one. We usually avoid that cave because it’s too cold."
"Then shall we go check it out?" Ruan Chanchan asked.
"Right away."
Chief Xie led her past the countless piles that were stocked in the cave. The tribe people who were working in the cave knew that Ruan Chanchan and Chief Xie had something important to do, so they let them walk out.
Chief Xie led Ruan Chanchan to a cave located behind the small waterfall. She said, "The Lang family used to live here, but once the temperature dropped, it became too cold for them to stay here. So when Lang awakened as a warrior beast woman the first thing she did was to change the cave as she thought this place wasn’t worth her."
"Well, someone else’s trash is another person’s treasure." Xiao Xi rolled his eyes when he heard Lang’s name.
Ruan Chanchan refrained from saying anything.
"Here we are." Chief Xie pushed a veil of what looked like ivy leaves scattered all over the mouth of the cave. "No one has lived here ever since the Lang family moved away. That’s why it’s so unkempt."
The two of them walked past the curtain of the gnarled and twisted ivy and entered the dark cave.
[DING]
The second Ruan Chanchan stepped inside the cave she heard a loud ding going off inside her head. She raised her head and turned to look at the small, white, translucent fruits that were hanging by the ceiling of a small, hidden crook, like baubles.
[Whisper fruit: Allows a person to hear every sound from 5 km afar. Can be sold for 5600 faith points.]
Ruan Chanchan’s eyes lit up upon hearing the notifications. Ignoring the yapping chief Xie, she turned to walk down the little trail that was on the left.
Chief Xie was still speaking when she heard Ruan Chanchan moving. She turned and saw Ruan Chanchan heading down a small cervice that led to nothing but darkness.
She immediately chased after her. "Eh? Where are you going Chanchan? There is nothing down there.
Chief Xie was still speaking when she heard Ruan Chanchan stepping away. She spun on her feet and turned to look at Ruan Chanchan, who was heading down the rickety rocky trail.
"Where are you going?" Chief Xie asked upon seeing Ruan Chanchan walking away. "There is nothing there."
"You sure about that? Because I have a feeling that there is something good in here."
Ruan Chanchan spoke in a mysterious manner which sort of made even Chief Xie a little bit curious. She turned her back on the ice pool and walked over to where Ruan Chanchan was standing. Her eyes continuously peered inside the crevice wanting to see what this good thing was that Ruan Chanchan spoke of.
Satisfied with the effect that she had created, Ruan Chanchan headed down the crease. Chief Xie was still feeling a bit dubious but when she thought about how Ruan Chanchan had never failed her before, she gritted her teeth and then followed her inside the cervice.
It was only when the two of them stepped inside the small crack in the wall of the cave that they realised that the space inside was bigger than they could have imagined.
Forget about four people even thirty people wouldn’t be able to fill up this space. What was more this cave was actually warmer than the other caves in the dwelling.
"If Lang finds out about this she is going to be so mad," remarked Chief Xie while staring at the space inside the cave. And she was indeed right. If Lang ever found out that the cave that she had abandoned was filled with so much abundance and comfort she would be so angry that she might throw up blood.
"Then we need to make sure that there is a healer stand by when she comes to find out about the cave," stated Ruan Chanchan with light twitch of her lips. That woman was too petty for her own good. Given how scheming she was that woman would lose her mind just thinking about how she lost such a valuable asset that she could have used to her own benefit.
Chief Xie shot a furtive glance at the woman next to her and lowered her head in silence. It seemed like Ruan Chanchan was not as forgiving as she thought she was.
Ruan Chanchan didn’t know that her small comment changed Chief Xie’s perspective of her. She turned on her feet and reached out to touch the Whisper fruits that were hanging by the ceiling of the cave. She touched them one by one. With every touch the information regarding the Whisper fruit started to get more and more detailed. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
What was more there was a high content of starch inside of them which meant that this fruit could be used in making vermicelli.
Ruan Chanchan thought of the dried vermicelli in her supermarket and her eyes lit up just thinking about how she could start selling vermicelli without being caught or questioned.
"This fruit doesn’t look like it’s worth anything," remarked Chief Xie while looking at the countless fruits that were hanging by the roof. And she wasn’t wrong. The Whisper fruits did resemble the ordinary fruits that grew in the forest. They didn’t look any different from the average fruits and from just a single glance they didn’t look anything special.
If chief Xie had seen them in the forest she would have ignored them for how normal they looked compared to the moon nuts that Ruan Chanchan had brought to the tribe.
Ruan Chanchan lips curled into a smile when she heard her remark. She turned to look at Chief Xie before saying to her, "They don’t look anything special but would you believe me if I tell you that these fruits can help you listen from five kilometers away?"

Elsewhere in another time and dimension. Three men were hiding in a dark corner of a cave. One of them was breathing hard as he looked at the dark surroundings.
"This is it," touching the sword in the sheath, one of the men turned to look behind. One look at the bleeding man whose eyes were shut close due to the poison injected into his veins and the guards lips couldn’t help but tremble. "I am afraid this might be it, your highness. All of our guards are gone and the people chasing after us are getting closer."
And the worst possible thing that could have happened to them had already happened. The crown prince had been poisoned and with him turning incapable to see anything their fate was already sealed. With him turning blind it would be a real surprise if they could even get out of this place intact but given the gruesome way those assassins were killing them all, there was a very good chance that they might not even escape from this hell hole with an intact body.
The crown prince sitting in the corner of the cave sighed heavily. He knew that this was his end, even if he escaped from those assassins the last time, he might not be able to escape this time around.
With his eyes turning incapable of seeing anything, he knew that he was dead for sure. With a heavy sigh he resigned himself to his fate. "It’s alright. Since the heavens have decided that our time then we need to accept it. There is no point in trying to fight against the will of heavens."
"Your highness." The guards felt their hearts ache when they heard the crown prince ’s words.
The crown prince had weathered all kinds of traps and schemes. They knew how much he had given up to be in the position where he was at the moment and yet after going through so many sufferings the crown prince still ended up falling under the schemes of the newly appointed empress.
"Your highness, don’t give up. We will be able to get out of here very soon. We... we just need to try a little harder."
The crown prince smiled softly before saying , "I know both of you don’t want me to lose hope but we all know that there is no turning around after this ---"
