Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 267: The Speaking Shadow
Generally, no totem warrior was willing to pay this price, as they believed that if they were to change tribe, that would be equivalent to betraying their tribe. Thus, they would rather stay in their tribe than go to another tribe. However, the same couldn’t be said for Shao Xia. Ever since she returned in time, she always wanted to move to another tribe. A tribe that was bigger and stronger than the Big Bear Tribe. If not, she would have never broken her engagement with Xie Daiyu. Though losing Xie Daiyu did hurt her a lot, Shao Xia felt like her ambitions were way too high for her to drop them for the sake of a mer. She pursed her lips when Xie Daiyu’s image flashed in her mind.
Honestly, it would have been better if Xie Daiyu had been a normal mer, then she wouldn’t have had to worry about leaving him behind. She could have taken him along with her. Either by hook or by crook, and the tribe wouldn’t have bothered to chase after her, either because they would not waste so much of their time over a little mer. But Xie Daiyu was not the same; he was the son of the chief. If she dared to kidnap the son of the chief, then they would definitely chase after her.
And forget about the tribe chasing after her; Xie Daiyu himself would knock her out. That mer had loyalty in his bones; if she dared to go against him, then he would certainly not leave her alone.
You should be worrying about yourself instead of worrying about Xie Daiyu. That mer is destined to die – but you... You, on the other hand, are destined for something bigger. If you do not want to suffer the same ending as Xie Daiyu, then you’d better think of a way to join another tribe, or else you will go down the same path as these weaklings. Do you want to have the same fate as the rest of them??
No.
"Of course not!" Shao Xia refused to have the same sorry fate as the members of the Big Bear Tribe; she was not going to die like a common totem warrior who had no future other than dying for their tribe. She wanted to get much more powerful than anyone could ever imagine. She wanted Xie Daiyu to regret choosing Ruan Chanchan over her.
Then you need to get your hands on something that you can exchange. You cannot get her medical skills, but you can at least get her other skills, can you not?
Anyway, if you go on your own, then there is a chance that the tribe would kick you out—only those who are useful to a tribe will be accepted and kept. After all, someone who is not of any use to them – why would the Mighty Eagle Tribe go against the Big Bear Tribe for them?
Shao Xia’s eyes narrowed when she heard the words of the shadow that had been following her for a while. She pursed her lips and realised that what the shadow was saying was indeed correct. If she were not useful to the tribe, then they would rather return her to the Big Bear Tribe rather than cause trouble for their tribe.
Now she finally had an opportunity to become an important part of the Mighty Eagle tribe. If she were to learn Ruan Chanchan’s skills of how to detect edible fruits and mushrooms, then maybe she would be able to become just as important as Ruan Chanchan was for the Big Bear Tribe to the Mighty Eagle Tribe.
Shao Xia decided that she would learn Ruan Chanchan’s skills of finding out the edible mushrooms and fruits, as well as how to make jerky and the other dishes that she knew how to cook. But there was a little problem. She had to get her hands on the flames. Without getting her hands on those burning flames, there was no way Shao Xia would be able to get her way inside the Mighty Eagle Tribe; after all, without the burning flames, all those recipes would be useless!
Shao Xia was not interested in the idea of getting her hands on a burning log and taking it all the way to the Mighty Eagle Tribe. She knew very well that these flames would die down by the time she arrived at the tribe; what was more, that tribe was quite far from the Big Bear Tribe. If she were to take the burning log with her, then there was a very good chance that the flames would disappear after all; she had to hunt down beasts as well as rush to the Mighty Eagle Tribe. How was she supposed to manage the burning flame till then?
Shao Xia had asked around, but no one knew how to light the fire other than Ruan Chanchan. The core technology still lay with Ruan Chanchan and in her hands. Since that was the case, she had no other choice but to get close to Ruan Chanchan. Thinking of this, she looked around and finally found Ruan Chanchan, who was standing next to Priestess Yuan and taking a look at the hollowed oaks that the totem warriors had found somewhere.
When she found Ruan Chanchan, she walked over to where Ruan Chanchan was standing.
"Chanchan."
Ruan Chanchan almost jumped in the air when she heard the sound coming from behind her. She turned around and looked at the person behind her. She looked at the woman and then turned to look at the sun that had risen in the sky. She turned to look at Xiao Xi, before saying to him, "Are you sure that the sun rose from the east and not the west? Because I have a feeling that there is something wrong with the planetary circulations today."
Xiao Xi also eyed the woman with a wary look in his eyes as he said to her, "Darling, be very careful. I think this woman is planning something."
Of course, this was something that Ruan Chanchan knew. This woman was not someone who would come to look for her for no reason. There must be something that was going on in the head of Shao Xia, or else this woman would have never come looking for her. She narrowed her eyes and stepped away from Shao Xia and asked, "How can I ...help you?"
"Chanchan, it was really my fault before. I apologise to you. I hope that you can forgive me," said Shao Xia as she reached out and took Ruan Chanchan’s hands affectionately in hers.
When Ruan Chanchan saw Shao Xia’s actions, she was confused and became even more troubled. A shiver danced down her spine as she could see that Shao Xia’s eyes were full of calculations. She looked at Shao Xia as if she were looking at a ghost. Moreover, Ruan Chanchan knew that Shao Xia was really selfish. This was something that she had noticed at a single glance. Because she wanted to kill her, she flattered a mer and coaxed him into almost giving his life. In the face of such a ruthless person, Ruan Chanchan wanted nothing more than to stay away from her and hide.
She eyed Shao Xia with a wary gaze while wondering what this woman was trying to do. She quietly broke free from the restraints that were holding her. She retracted her hands and looked around, making sure that there were enough people around her and only then did she turn to look at Shao Xia. She wanted to make sure that the person in front of her wouldn’t be able to kill her, or else she was worried that this brat would run her claws through her stomach and kill her.
Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and carefully said, "Shao Xia, if you have something to say, please say it outright."
There is no need to act so chummy with me for no reason! Ruan Chanchan roared in her heart while looking at the woman. She knew that there was something wrong, but unfortunately for her, she just couldn’t prove what was wrong. Ruan Chanchan didn’t want to act carelessly, or else she was worried that this woman would scheme against her once again. Shao Xia was the kind of woman who would only play like this when she needed something.
While Ruan Chanchan was eyeing Shao Xia, the latter was also looking at her. She carefully eyed her and asked the shadow behind her, "Is she really blessed by the beast goddess?"
The shadow following behind her couldn’t even see Ruan Chanchan carefully because, as per his view, the woman was shrouded in nothing but golden white light. Seeing this, the shadow couldn’t help but frown and say, "I believe that she is indeed blessed; she is shrouded with such a vibrant light that I can’t even see her."
So, Ruan Chanchan was really blessed by the beast goddess? The same beast goddess who watched her die just because she made the mistake of betraying her mate?
