Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Little Girl

Neither of them spoke.

Suddenly, Little Cheese, who had been sleeping soundly to the side, stretched lazily and stood up.

Then, with a jaunty and proud little stride, it unceremoniously stepped over Sebastian Prescott and walked straight onto Sienna Monroe’s lap, found a spot, and curled up in her arms.

Both of them were taken aback by this scene.

It happened to dispel the frozen atmosphere after watching the four video clips.

The little creature gently patted the small accessories on Sienna Monroe’s clothes with its pink paws, looking at her with very relaxed and round eyes.

Sienna Monroe’s tense expression softened at the sight, and her lips curled into a faint smile as she raised her hand to stroke its head.

The little creature cooperatively made a happy "purring" sound.

Sebastian Prescott also reached out to pat its back, speaking in a clear voice, "It really likes you."

Sienna paused, turned her head to look at him, just as he looked back.

For some reason, she seemed to read another layer of meaning in his obsidian-like eyes.

It is said that pets resemble their owners.

In other words, if Little Cheese likes her this much, perhaps its owner does as well.

Sienna’s heart skipped a few beats as she realized this layer of meaning.

Her eyes began to flicker.

Last time, he used his home decor style as a metaphor for whether she liked him, and now he uses the cat as a hint for his affection for her.

This...

It’s hard to tell.

Usually aloof and unfathomable, Lawyer Prescott doesn’t show it openly.

He has quite the charm.

If it weren’t for his clean reputation and lack of scandals, she would have thought he was a seasoned player in the field of love.

She simply withdrew her somewhat unnatural gaze and lowered her eyes to look at the little creature in her arms.

With a smile, she teased, "Didn’t you say it wasn’t afraid of strangers and was very affectionate? Seems like it’s the same with everyone."

Sebastian nodded subtly, "Yes, being affectionate is a personality trait. That’s unlike me. However, while it’s affectionate, it never casually lies in others’ laps to sleep."

Sienna glanced at him quietly, not replying.

After this interlude, they discussed the issues related to the video clips for a few minutes.

When they were almost done talking and she got up to leave,

Sebastian seriously reminded, "Vivian Nash’s purpose for stalking you is still unclear, but it’s definitely not for anything good. You should be cautious when going out these few days."

Sienna nodded, "Yes, I know."

Sebastian escorted her to the elevator, "Until Vivian Nash reveals her true intentions, try not to go to places with few people alone.

Send me a message when you go out in the morning, I’ll accompany you, and if you return late at night, call me and I’ll come to pick you up."

Sienna knows Vivian is ruthless.

There must be more schemes ahead.

She won’t underestimate her, agreed, and stepped into the elevator.

Back home, she took a shower; the weather was getting warmer and the air much drier, so she applied a face mask.

When the time was up, she washed her face and went to bed early.

Tomorrow is the day Leo Monroe comes out of the ICU.

She slept fairly soundly during the first half of the night, but in the latter half, probably because she was sleeping deeply, she accidentally fell into a dream.

In the dream, a little girl in a grass-green chiffon dress was waving at her. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

About four or five, maybe five or six years old.

A pure and adorable little face, with bright and clear innocent eyes filled with joy.

She couldn’t make out the surroundings, only saw the little girl say something to her, then stand up and twirl with her dress held up.

Like a little fairy accidentally fallen to the human world, playful and lively.

She didn’t hear what the girl said, and as she tried to focus harder to discern it, she quickly woke from the dream.

It was already six thirty.

She turned her head to see the faint morning light; the base of the eastern clouds seemed brushed with unseen golden paint, faintly blooming a warm color.

Sienna slowly opened her eyes, her gaze a bit dazed.

Her thoughts and consciousness seemed not yet recovered from the lingering effects of the dream.

In the dream, the girl appeared to be only five or six years old.

Could she be the daughter she dreamed about before?

She tried to pull back the original dream from her memory and compare it to the one she just had, to see if the girls were the same.

But try as she might, in that dream she merely sat holding her daughter’s cold body throughout the night.

The girl was wearing a white princess dress, and she couldn’t see her daughter’s face clearly in the dream.

She massaged her slightly sore head.

Thinking she still needed to go to the hospital later, she couldn’t dwell on it further.

Since it’s all dream-related, it is unresolved in her current situation.

What’s the use of pondering so much?

She glanced at the time, quickly got up to wash up, then went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast and food for Leo Monroe.

The portion for Leo requires extra care; his stomach is particularly weak now, and should not have any hard food whatsoever.

After seven-thirty, just as she changed into her clothes, the doorbell rang.

Opening the door, she found Sebastian Prescott in a tailored black suit and tie.

Sienna was momentarily stunned, looking at his meticulously tied dark green tie, blurting out, "Are you going to court today?"

Sebastian chuckled softly, "How did you know?"

Sienna hesitated, her slender white fingers gesturing at his tie, "You don’t usually wear ties much. Only for court..."

She had witnessed it a few times, including the mediation with Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash.

This detail naturally stuck with her.

Sebastian’s eyes flickered with realization, then nodded, casually saying, "You’re very observant."

"..."

Sienna was speechless for a moment.

This remark sounded quite like she was constantly observing him.

Noticing her odd expression, Sebastian formally and earnestly answered her question, "There’s a panel session in the morning. Have you had breakfast?"

"I have."

"Heading out?"

"Yes, I’ll be leaving soon."

Sienna realized he was waiting to leave together, returned to the kitchen to pack the cooked porridge into the thermal container, and poured the prepared carrot juice into a thermos cup before carrying everything to the door.

Sebastian looked at what she was holding, his gaze lingering a bit longer.

But he didn’t ask any further questions.

It was only when they reached the parking lot that Sienna said she wouldn’t be going to the art gallery, "I’m going to Delmore University Hospital."

Sebastian paused, looking back at her with a hint of surprise.

Of course, he wouldn’t think that the contents of those containers were for Claire Grant.

Sienna didn’t hide it, straightforwardly explained, "My dad is at Delmore, and today he’ll be moved out of the ICU."

An expression of astonishment briefly flashed across Sebastian’s handsome face, pursing his lips to ask, "Is it serious?"

"Early-stage stomach cancer; he had surgery in Eastwood earlier this year. Recently, there was a post-operative infection, things weren’t good, so he had another surgery.

They say he’s stable now, but we’ll have to see about his wound recovery."

Sebastian furrowed his brows.

Stomach cancer...

No wonder she seemed unrested these days, worrying must be what’s troubling her.

"Let me drive you there."

"No need, you have the court session in the morning, right? I can drive myself there, it’s convenient."

Over-insisting felt insincere, so Sebastian’s thin lips formed a straight line, gazing at her serene and gentle eyes.

He could only offer some seemingly trivial advice, "Drive safely, take it slow, don’t rush.

Remember to eat regularly, rest if you’re tired, don’t push yourself, and call me anytime if you need anything."

Sienna nodded, revealing a soft smile, "Yes, I understand."

With that, she got into her car first.

Moments later, two luxury cars worth millions, one after the other, drove out of The Left Bank Courtyard, parting ways at the second junction.
