Chapter 180: Eva wants to be a star
Third person POV
"Oh! I thought you were amazing in your presentation today. I’m sure you’ll win this competition," a handsome man with black hair and slightly effeminate features said.
Then, he took a step forward, entering the dressing room where Eva had just finished having her makeup done. He looked around but didn’t find anything that interested him.
Then his gaze focused on the beautiful woman before him. Eva’s eyes were so intense that they made the man feel a shiver run down his spine every time he looked at her.
"There’s a wonderful Chinese restaurant nearby. And I would be honored to introduce it to you."
"I’m not interested," Eva replied coldly and even a little cruelly. Her gaze revealed a hint of disdain for the man before her.
She wasn’t usually this aggressive, but the girl was tired of dealing with men declaring their feelings for her. That’s why she started rejecting them in the cruelest way possible, wanting to get rid of the problem quickly.
"I was just trying," the man took a step back but seemed to smile happily upon receiving such a cruel rejection.
Maybe he was a masochist? Thinking about this, the feigned contempt Eva had in her gaze became very genuine. She couldn’t help but find a man like him pathetic.
A woman could and even should be submissive if she found the right man. But having a masochistic husband seemed like the worst thing in the world. Well, she would never have to worry about that, since Liam was the perfect boyfriend.
And just by remembering him, she became slightly sad. Messages or video calls weren’t enough to quell her longing.
"Did something happen?" the masochist asked, noticing that she looked sad. "If there’s anything I can do to cheer you up, just ask me."
"You could disappear from my sight, that would be enough." Irritated, she tried to be even crueler to get rid of that man quickly.
"Oh!" he exclaimed, then fell to his knees, apparently overcome by... pleasure? Eva preferred to pretend she saw nothing.
"You truly are a perfect lady," he said once more. "Are you sure you don’t want to accompany me?"
"I am," she replied coldly, but this only seemed to make the man more interested in her.
Eva sighed deeply upon noticing this, realizing that none of the techniques she normally used to ward off men were working against him.
"If you’ll allow me, may I ask why you reject me so absolutely?" the young man asked. Then he commented that he was rich and handsome, implying that it was a good choice to get closer to him.
"You’re not my type, you’re boring, and you’re a useless masochist. Besides, I have the best boyfriend in the world."
"I understand you have a boyfriend, but I also have a wife; that shouldn’t stop us."
He said, moving closer, but as soon as Eva told him to back away, the man obediently took several steps back. At least he wasn’t the type to force himself on the girl.
But knowing that he had a wife and still acted that way only made Eva despise him even more. That’s why she asked coldly:
"Do you have any other business to discuss with me?"
"Yes," he straightened his posture immediately, shuddering under the girl’s powerful gaze. "Actually, I will be part of the evaluation committee for the final round of the reality show. Moreover, I have contacts with several companies in the music industry."
While he spoke, the man quickly opened his backpack and began searching for his business card, wanting to prove that he wasn’t just making things up.
"Are you perhaps trying to threaten me with your influence?" Eva questioned with an even colder tone.
The masochist was so scared that he couldn’t stop trembling and ended up dropping his things on the floor. Then he bent down to pick them up, and with a still shaky voice, he explained:
"No, I would never do that. I only came to offer my help." He knelt down in the way a servant would. "If you need anything, just ask me. I don’t need anything in return; just knowing that I could be useful to a lady like you is enough for me."
How could that man be so pathetic? The more they talked, the more Eva wondered if he was even human or some kind of inferior species.
"Are you telling the truth?" Eva asked with a tone of suspicion.
"Yes, I will do anything you ask."
Seeing this, she sighed, but an idea crossed her mind. "Then make your wife my boyfriend’s sex slave. And, let me be clear, you will receive nothing in return."
The girl hoped that with such an absurd request, the man would inevitably reject it and finally stop bothering her.
"No problem, my lady, I will make it happen," However, to her surprise, he didn’t even question her order.
"What are you saying? I was just kidding!" she replied quickly. "Besides, he already has enough girls..." Eva murmured softly.
Then, the girl turned to the pathetic man in front of her. How was it possible that he didn’t feel even a little offended by that request? Even if he didn’t love his own wife, he should at least have some pride.
"Are you sure you’re a man?" Eva asked with a tone of contempt, which made the man smile and tremble with pleasure. "Seriously, do you even have balls?"
The woman took a step forward, thinking about checking if the man had genitals with her own hands. But in less than a second, she changed her mind; after all, she didn’t want to touch another man with her hands.
So, instead, she kicked the poor guy in the groin, confirming that he did indeed have genitals.
Anyway, she didn’t intend to waste any more time on that. So she turned to Mina, who had been focused on fixing her hair the whole time.
"Shall we go to the ball?"
"Yes," Mina smiled ironically, looking at the man writhing on the floor. "You never stop attracting men, but that one was a little too weird."
"Yeah..." Eva agreed with a long sigh.
"But I think you should at least ask him to help you, don’t you think?"
"Maybe," Eva bent down and picked up the man’s card. "If I need to, I’ll call you. But I probably won’t contact you again."
Mina laughed lightly, observing this. Then she praised Eva for being so loyal. Ever since she started dating, she looked at other men as if they were an annoying problem.
The two proceeded to the hall where a short get-together was taking place before the final presentation of the reality show. At that point, only 5 competitors remained, and Eva was undoubtedly among the favorites to win.
And for the first time, she would be introduced to her 5 competitors; after all, each of them came from a different group.
And it was at that moment that the girl’s heart sank. After all, before her, beyond a beautiful girl and two other singers, was someone she knew very well: Zack.
Why was he there? Simple, with a little illegal help, he reached the final of the tournament. He wasn’t a completely bad musician either. The hours he dedicated to the guitar instead of studying in college had some fruit.
"Did something happen?" Mina asked, noticing that her friend looked terrified.
"It’s just that he..." She had difficulty simply explaining, while she continued to tremble, remembering the situation.
If only Liam were there. She would know she was safe. But being alone, she felt her chest sink. That was until Mona enveloped her in a soft hug.
"Come on, you can trust me. Just tell me once, who is he? I promised that boy I would protect you, and you can believe I will."
"Thank you," Eva said softly, still unable to overcome the fear she was feeling.
Still, she took a deep breath, determined to leave her trauma behind. Yes, she needed to calm down, win the tournament, and return to her beloved’s arms.
And for that, she needed help. So, with some difficulty, she recounted the whole story to Mina, who listened attentively despite the anger that filled her heart.
"That bastard," she said with a voice filled with rage after hearing the whole story. "I want to kill that damn man!"
That being said, she needed to think rationally. If she wanted to take revenge properly, she would have to keep her mind calm and prepare an appropriate battle plan.
"How would you like to get revenge on that damn man?" Mina finally asked.
"What do you mean, get revenge? I just want to avoid him..." she said, admitting that Zack still terrified her somehow.
But Mina didn’t accept that answer, insisting that they should get revenge and destroy that man.
Then, noticing that Zack was approaching a girl, Mina had an idea.
"Okay, listen, girl, today we’re going to make that past trauma of yours beg for forgiveness."
Eva still tried to restrain her friend, but Mina didn’t seem willing to listen.
