Harem Startup : The Demon Billionaire is on Vacation-Chapter 759: Panic-Buy, Panic-Sell
Chapter 759 – Panic-Buy, Panic-Sell
"This is the first time I’ve ever met a woman who sees me as her rival," Lux muttered.
He leaned back in his chair like a man personally offended by the concept.
Dinner was warm. Soft lighting. The long table polished dark wood, candles flickering lazily. Lyra and the other servants moved quietly, refilling glasses, setting down dishes that smelled rich and sinful. Mortal cuisine tonight. Grilled meat, herb butter, wine that cost more than most small companies.
Home.
Or at least, the closest thing to it.
Rava rested her chin on her hand, smiling lazily. "My assistant reported everything to me."
Lux groaned. "Of course you sent your assistant."
"I have assistants spying on everything."
He pointed a fork at her. "That’s toxic."
"It’s efficient."
She grinned.
"He said you and Sirena looked like two corporate rivals negotiating a hostile takeover."
Mira’s eyes lit up instantly. "Oh? Now I’m curious."
Naomi covered her smile with her glass. "I can imagine it."
Lux pouted dramatically. "That’s not funny."
Ely tilted her head slightly. "Was she aggressive?"
"She was protective," Lux corrected calmly.
That mattered.
He stabbed a piece of meat and chewed slowly.
There was something almost peaceful about this. The low hum of conversation. The quiet clink of cutlery. The fact that no one here was trying to assassinate him.
Probably.
"So?" Ely asked, leaning forward slightly. "Any other news? About your king? Or anyone making a move?"
Lux shook his head.
"Not yet. But I already set Corvus and Zehar loose."
Naomi’s brows lifted. "Loose?"
"Yes. Light reconnaissance. Nothing flashy."
Rava’s gaze sharpened slightly. "What are you hoping they find?"
Lux shrugged lightly.
"Anything usable."
That was the truth.
He didn’t need confirmation. He needed leverage. Weaknesses. Side deals. Hidden factions. Something he could turn into insurance.
Mira studied him quietly.
"You look relaxed," she said finally. "For someone whose life is technically on the stake."
He sipped his wine.
"Panic won’t do a thing."
His tone was easy. Almost lazy.
"Panicking is what low investors do," he continued. "That’s what makes common people panic-buy and panic-sell."
Naomi gave him a look. "So you’re comparing assassination attempts to market volatility?"
"Yes."
"That’s concerning."
He smiled.
"If I panic, I lose clarity. If I lose clarity, I lose control. If I lose control, I die."
Simple math.
Naomi’s voice softened. "So you’re not afraid at all?"
Lux paused.
The candlelight reflected faintly in his glass.
"I’m afraid," he admitted.
That made the table go slightly still.
"But I prefer not to overthink it."
He leaned back.
"Today I did nothing because I can’t do anything yet except wait. So I wait."
His gaze moved between them slowly.
"But I do have a plan."
Mira’s tail flicked slightly under the table. "What’s your plan?"
He smirked.
"I told you already. S*x."
The silence that followed was violent.
Ely sighed.
Naomi choked slightly on her wine.
Rava just laughed.
Mira stared at him. "S*x? Just s*x?"
"Yes." Lux folded his hands casually in front of him. "I got more reasons. Since the king wants to kill me, I need to make my heir. Fast."
Naomi’s jaw dropped. "You can’t just schedule heirs like quarterly earnings."
"Watch me."
"And you’re saying this so calmly," Ely muttered.
He leaned forward slightly. "And I need to get stronger." His eyes gleamed faintly. "Far, far stronger than I am now."
They knew what that meant.
He couldn’t openly hunt. He couldn’t openly train. Not without raising flags.
"Luckily, I’m an incubus," he continued smoothly. "S*x gives me power."
Rava clapped once slowly. "Strategic stamina investment."
"Exactly."
"Although we already heard it this morning. Still..." Naomi pinched the bridge of her nose. "You are unbelievable. I thought you were joking."
He grinned at her.
Mira crossed her arms. "So about the dragon mountain pass."
Ah.
There it was.
He turned toward her.
"You don’t want it anymore?" she asked.
"I still need it."
His tone shifted slightly. Not playful. Intent.
"But you need time to get it, right?"
Mira huffed softly. "My grandfather holds the key."
Lux nodded slowly.
"I see."
He leaned back again.
"So I will need to do s*x first."
Naomi stared at him. "You really think sleeping around solves this."
He raised a brow. "I don’t sleep around."
Rava snorted.
He ignored her. "I invest selectively."
"Lux."
"Yes?"
"This is not a joke."
He softened slightly. "I know."
The humor faded just enough.
"I can’t escalate openly. I can’t declare war. I can’t storm the infernal court." He tapped his temple lightly. "So I build strength quietly."
His gaze drifted briefly toward the window, where the city lights flickered beyond the glass.
"I accumulate."
Rava’s expression changed slightly. "You’re going into survival mode."
"I’m already in survival mode."
Mira’s voice lowered. "And if the king moves before you’re ready?"
Lux smiled faintly. "Then he underestimates how stubborn I am."
Naomi leaned back slowly. "You joke a lot."
"It’s efficient."
"It’s deflection."
Damn, she was right.
He looked at her. "Maybe."
The room softened again.
Rava reached for her wine. "So this heir plan," she said casually. "Are we voting?"
Lux laughed. "It’s not a board meeting."
"It sounds like one."
He tilted his head slightly. "Relax. I’m not forcing anything."
That mattered.
He would never force.
Choice was everything.
"Also," he added lightly, "power scaling through intimacy is technically productive."
Ely rolled her eyes.
Mira stared at him thoughtfully.
"You’re serious about this."
"Yes."
Lux didn’t even blink.
He leaned back in his chair like he had just announced a new investment portfolio instead of a stamina-based survival strategy.
"So," he continued calmly, cutting another piece of meat, "simply put, I will have s*x nonstop after this. As best as I can."
Naomi closed her eyes.
Ely pinched her nose.
Rava burst out laughing.
Mira shook her head slowly, tail flicking under the table. "You’re turning reproduction into a business expansion."
"It is a business expansion."
Naomi pointed at him. "You can’t just say that with a straight face."
He raised an eyebrow. "Watch me."
