Chapter 218 – Records have favorites too

Noah looked at the notifications with a calm gaze.

He had now what he wanted. Now, his people could choose the Elysiari’s path to go beyond the Supreme rank. There was no longer any need to rely on other races.

And what a big event it was. And such a big event—naturally—the Akashic Records couldn’t hide it. They had to announce it.

After all, this was the birth of a whole new faction. Something that could shift the very fabric of power in this universe.

And so,

{DIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG!}

A loud sound echoed through the entire universe. In every world, in every domain, in every hidden realm—or even realms where no being had ever stepped foot—

All beings inside this universe heard that chime. From the most worthless mortal to the one who stood above the very definition of concept.

It was the same kind of chime that had once echoed through the cosmos when an abomination was born.

It would have looked the same if the Records had stopped there. But no.

This time...

This time, the Records spoke. Their voice was boundless, all-encompassing... and absolute.

{A new Faction has been born.}

Just that. The Records didn’t mention the name, the leader or even their location. And normally, they should have.

But why would they?

Noah was their favorite. So yes, they played favoritism.

Every being in all existence heard those words. They were simple by nature...

But the very implication of them shook those who understood what it meant.

A new faction... a new path... new competition... more battles for resources... and so... more wars.

Something many of the older factions certainly didn’t wish for.

...

In a world of light, in a world where even the weakest being could flatten Laeh with enough time, in a world where everything screamed purity, holiness, justice, and order...

In a hidden pocket dimension inside that world, a being levitated just above the ground in a cross-legged position.

The being’s hair... was truly a sight to behold. It was golden—but not like normal gold—it was like an ocean of flowing starlight, as if countless miniature suns lived inside his strands.

It was mesmerizing.

But what was most mesmerizing about this being was not his hair... but the power radiating from him.

That was a level of power Noah could not even begin to fathom.

And the moment the Records’ words echoed across the universe, the being’s eyes snapped open.

They were celestial gold with pupils shaped like a scale of balance.

"A new faction? Without even revealing the name?" the being muttered, before a small smile crept onto his lips.

He raised his gaze, looking up at the sky—

As if able to see things unseen to most beings in the universe.

"Is this your new favorite? Is that why you’re hiding him or her?" he asked, mockery dripping from his voice.

Then he placed a hand under his chin.

"Could it be those two troublesome brats?"

He laughed softly soon after.

"No way. They wouldn’t do something like that. So..."

He smirked.

"Is it the new abomination? The third one? Did he create a faction?"

"After all... you only hide the abominations. So tell me, Records... is it him?" he asked, almost expecting an answer. But none came.

His smile widened.

"How interesting. I bet my descendants are already panicking." he chuckled, then closed his eyes once again, clearly not giving this matter another thought.

That was not his problem. He would let his descendants handle it. After all, they had managed to limit those two before—

So why not a third one?

The being—the Progenitor of the Celestials—resumed his meditation.

But he was not the only Progenitor who reacted to this.

All of them did. Each in their own way.

But there were some similarities. Like the Dragon Progenitor, who, like the Celestial, didn’t bother himself with this matter.

It was beneath him. He just opened briefly one of his boundless purple eyes and billions of high grade world was destroyed instantly.

The Divine Beasts’ Progenitor also didn’t react much. He only woke up for a moment, yawned, before going back to sleep.

But that yawn...that yawn had birthed some low rank beast with S rank talent at least.

As for the Elves...

They reacted differently.

...

Elsewhere, at the exact same time the Records chimed—

Under a gigantic green tree that looked like it could support the weight of thousands of worlds, a simple wooden table sat with wooden chairs surrounding it.

And on one of those chairs, sat a woman.

Green hair, green eyes—her body was not human, it was made of wood, yet smoother and softer than heavenly silk. Her figure was something one could only call perfect in every sense possible.

Seeing this, it was clear that her body had been crafted with divine care.

And her beauty—her beauty was not something possible by any known standard. Even Noah would look ugly beside her.

Can you imagine that?

That was how breathtaking she was. And it was only logical.

After all... she was the World Tree itself. The Progenitor of the Elves.

Yes. The old lady Noelle once spoke of.

That was indeed her.

Luelle Worldtree. That was the name she chose for herself.

She was calmly sipping green tea, her expression relaxed.

And the moment she heard the Records’ announcement, she suddenly paused and lifted her head.

Her green eyes glowed, and countless ethereal leaves began to swirl inside her gaze, dancing in a mystical pattern.

Then, she lowered her head once again and calmly said:

"Did you, by any chance, provoke someone lately, my dear child?" Luelle’s voice traversed billions of miles and reached a golden-haired man with green eyes who stood in the middle of lush green fields.

The man paused briefly, then replied, "Nothing out of the ordinary, mother. Just a couple of destroyed worlds." He spoke with pure nonchalance.

"What’s going on? Did the Records’ words worry you, mother?" he asked, a little curious.

Luelle remained silent for a while before finally saying,

"I’ve sensed something troublesome that is soon to happen... but I cannot detect why or when."

But her voice remained calm and unbothered.

"Look into it, Lari. And tell my dear Orien to stop fooling around and take his training seriously."

She cut the contact and resumed sipping her tea, as composed as ever.

Yes, it was a new faction.

But Progenitors hardly cared.

They had lived for eons, and the resources of the universe were meaningless to them. Their power levels were unmatched by anyone.

Except, perhaps, those two darlings of the Records.

So why would they care about mundane faction wars?

They wouldn’t.

They would only move if their race was at risk of extinction.

Otherwise?

Their descendants would deal with it.

But Luelle still gave the order to uncover the source of her unease.

And when Luelle gave an order...

The Worldborns became obsessed with fulfilling it.

"Call my son," Lari said softly, closing his eyes. freewebnoveℓ.com

"Yes, my lord," a voice answered with reverence.

...

But that was the factions.

What about the abominations themselves?

Well, one of them was currently standing before the Progenitor of Demons.

In the deepest pit of Hell,

An unusual meeting was taking place.

"Dude, I’m telling you—I’m sure it’s my little brother. Or sister." A man with blood-red hair and black eyes grinned widely as he spoke.

In front of him stood a male who looked like any common demon. He was simple and unassuming. But everyone knew better.

It was Lucifer. The Progenitor of Demons. The ruler of Hell.

"So you mean the third abomination created a faction? How do you know?" Lucifer asked, his glowing red eyes filled with curiosity. His voice was calm—nothing like what one would expect from a demon.

"Let’s just say it’s a family instinct."

"...Now you’re family? What do you call that bookworm? Big sister? Or little sister?"

"I call her mommy."

A long pause.

"You’re insane, Asaemon," Lucifer said, shaking his head.

But Asaemon just laughed harder.

"Hahaha! You should have seen her. She wanted to kill me so bad but couldn’t."

"So what are you going to do?" Lucifer asked, already annoyed.

"What else? I’m bored. I might as well go find my little brother—or sister. The third one sounds fun." Asaemon stood up, grinning.

"No... he sounds like trouble," Lucifer replied.

Asaemon’s grin widened.

"That’s why he sounds fun, dumbass."

Calling a Progenitor a dumbass—only Asaemon could do such a thing.

And Lucifer, already used to the insults, didn’t even react.

Instead, he waved him away.

"Get out of my realm. You’re a bother. Go find your little third. And tell him not to mess with my faction."

"Or what?" Asaemon asked.

Lucifer stayed silent for a moment before smiling, his expression twisting into a wide, demonic grin.

"I’ll kill him if he forces me to act."

But Asaemon only smirked as his body began to fade.

"If he—or she—is fun... then you won’t do shit, Lucifer."

And then, Asaemon disappeared.

Leaving behind a smiling Lucifer.

"Fucking abominations... always causing trouble."

He muttered, then went back to sleep.

Such a lazy progenitor.

...

As for the other abomination...

She only raised her head toward the sky for a moment, then lowered it again and continued to read her book.

But in the back of her mind,

’The third one... seems like a troublesome one. Just like Asaemon.’

She sighed quietly, already feeling tired.
