Nadia hit the brakes to a stop behind the abandoned warehouse Milton has texted her about.

This was where they'd meet.

The place looked like it had lost a fight with a wrecking ball and never recovered… broken windows, rusted roll-up doors, weeds growing through cracked concrete like green fingers reaching out of a grave.

Nadia kicked the door shut with her bare heel.

The fob and watch box was jammed under her arm.

Cold bit at her soles as she ran.

Inside smelled like mildew and old chemicals.

A single hanging bulb swung over the makeshift lab in the center.

Milton was already there, hunched over the folding table as he stuffed vials of electric-blue liquid into a hard-shell briefcase like he was cramming for the apocalypse.

Nadia's breath fogged in front of her.

"Milton?"

He flinched so hard a syringe clattered to the floor.

"What the hell are you doing?"

She asked, wiping cold sweat off her forehead with the back of a trembling wrist.

"Getting rid of evidence."

He kept it brief.

But anyone would catch that panic in his voice.

He feverishly swept a baggie of newly-pressed blue pills into the case.

"Everything. All of it."

"Evidence?"

Nadia blinked, feeling slow-witted.

"Evidence of what?"

Milton froze up.

The briefcase latch clicked shut like a gunshot in the quiet.

He turned, shoulders rising as he dragged in a breath that sounded like it hurt.

"Jorrel's dead."

The words hit her like a slap.

Nadia's knees almost buckled.

"What happened to him?"

Milton's hands shook so badly he couldn't even pick up the next vial.

He just stared at it like it had personally betrayed him.

He was a pharmacist, not a killer.

All he ever wanted was money.

But now that he had heard Jorrel was dead, the guilt almost crushed him until he felt like he was drowning. He kept trying to tell himself that Jorrel was just a coworker who shared a few of his interests… but deep down, he knew Jorrel meant more to him than that.

"I warned him. Only so many times you can ride the lightning before it fries you for good."

Nadia wrapped her arms around herself.

She was ice inside and out.

"Did… did your serum kill him?"

Milton's head snapped up.

His bloodshot eyes blazed psychotically.

"Don't you ever say that again."

His voice cracked into a shout.

"My serum didn't do shit! Jorrel did it to himself!"

He was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane.

Nadia took two automatic steps back.

Her poor heart jackhammered.

『How much grief do I have to go through…?』

Her throat turned itchy.

『When will it be enough for me, huh…』

She coughed once and her heart felt like shattering.

But then her gaze slid past him to the open briefcase that held the glowing vials.

Seeing that blue puddle of sweet dreams on the table made every rational thought dissolve.

"I'll take my chances."

She crossed the floor in three frantic strides and hoisted herself onto the metal platform in the center, the one they'd used as an impromptu exam table.

"Just send me back. One more time."

"Are you deaf?"

Milton yelled furiously.

"You've shot up more than anyone! It's a miracle your heart hasn't exploded! How dumb can you be!? Police are probably already—"

Nadia shoved the velvet box at him, hands trembling so hard the lid rattled.

"Here."

Milton stared at the contents like they were on fire.

"You stole a Bugatti?"

"I borrowed it from a friend…"

She lied, banging a fist against her chest just to make her lungs remember how to work.

Breathing felt like inhaling broken glass.

A chuckle drifted out of the darkness behind them.

"Borrowed…"

It was a voice Nadia was familiar with.

"Might have to look that word up later. Right now I'm pretty sure the friend wants it back."

They both whipped around.

Nightwatch stood just inside the cone of light, arms loose at his sides.

The lower half of his face was covered, but those ice-blue eyes pinned Nadia in place.

Nadia's stomach dropped through the floor.

『He's here. NO. How did he—? He… he can't see me like this… I can't let him…』

Her fists clenched so tight her nails carved crescents into her palms.

She swallowed a sound that wanted to be a sob.

Nightwatch tilted his head.

"Fancy cars come with fancy trackers. Easy to follow when someone's desperate."

She slid off the platform on jelly legs.

"Look, I can explain—"

Milton shoved her aside hard enough she stumbled.

"You brought that psycho here?!"

He rounded on her, hand already swinging.

"You dumb bitch—"

The slap never landed.

Nightwatch caught Milton's wrist from behind.

KRAAAKK!

It was a brutal twist.

The crack of bone was like popcorn in a microwave.

Milton screamed, high and animal.

Nightwatch yanked the other arm back, zip-tied both wrists then bodily hurled Milton across the lab.

Milton flew, crashed through a rack of beakers and hit the floor hard.

Broken glass rained.

A couple empty syringes stuck out of his thigh like porcupine quills.

He coughed blood onto the concrete.

Nightwatch stalked forward.

"You sick son of a bitch. This is all your fault. You're the one who turned her into this. Nadia's one of the best people I've ever known, and you broke her."

He loomed over the pharmacist.

"Start praying for a way to fix her right now, or I'll bury you and everyone close to you…"

He kept his voice low and lethal.

"I'm a vigilante… so trust me when I say you don't have the option of mercy."

Milton looked up, face drained gray.

All he could see were those furious blue eyes.

He laughed in deep disbelief.

"You want someone to blame? Try Scott. He's the source of her addiction."

The young vigilante's head snapped back like he'd been slapped.

"What?"

Milton's trembling fingers found the last intact syringe in his coat pocket.

"She never told you, did she?"

Nightwatch took half a step closer.

"That's not—"

That lapse in concentration was all Milton needed.

He jammed the needle into the meat of Nightwatch's thigh and slammed the plunger home.

The blue serum vanished into the muscle.

Nightwatch staggered.

"My body is… I… what did you…"

His eyes widened for one stunned heartbeat.

"You son of a—"

He dropped like a cut marionette.

His knees hit concrete as his body folded forward until his forehead almost touched the floor.

Milton didn't wait.

He snatched the Bugatti fob off the ground and bolted as he limped and bled.

Red footprints were everywhere.

Nadia didn't move. Couldn't.

Her eyes were locked on the shattered vials.

The cobalt puddle spread towards her like it was urging her to get one last taste.

Outside, red and blue lights painted the walls through broken windows.

Sirens wailed closer.

Milton burst through the side door and walked straight into a wall of rifles.

"FREEZE! HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM!"

"Down on the ground! Now!"

Commissioner Bennett stepped out of an unmarked SUV with a megaphone in hand.

"Milton Hargrove…"

His voice boomed across the area.

"You are under arrest for the manufacture and distribution of a Schedule-I controlled substance, reckless endangerment resulting in death, illegal pharmaceutical compounding, conspiracy to traffic metasapien-enhancing narcotics, and the murder of Jorrel Park. You have the right to remain silent—"

Cops swarmed.

Milton didn't even resist.

The cuffs clicked like a warning for a long sentence.

Twenty feet away, Emma stood next to a stone-faced FBI agent with her slender arms folded tight enough to crease her leather jacket.

"Thanks again…"

She murmured gently.

"Wasn't sure the Bureau would move this fast."

The agent shook his head.

"Are you kidding? We've had three undercover ops blown trying to trace this particular blue. There's two strains circulating… one's just a party drug, the other's tied to a metasapien trafficking ring running out of Meteor City and half the Northeast. You just handed us the chemist."

Emma's smile didn't reach her eyes.

She tapped the tiny recorder sewn into her collar.

『Scott's gonna owe me dinner for this one.』

Then she heard the shouting inside the warehouse.

A girl's breaking voice.

The FBI agent blinked and Emma was gone.

"Huh…?"

She zipped through the roll-up door, past overturned tables as she followed the sound of crying.

Until she found it.

Nadia was on her knees in the wreckage, palms scooping desperate handfuls of blue sludge off the floor to lick it off her fingers like an animal starving.

Tears cut clean tracks through the grime on her cheeks.

Her eyes were huge, bloodshot, wild.

"Nadia, stop…" Emma whispered.

"No!"

Nadia shrieked in a shredded voice.

She shoved another dripping palm toward her mouth.

"Nadia, please—"

"I said NO!"

Emma's voice cracked.

Tears spilled hot down her own face.

"Stop it, please!"

"I CAN'T!"

Nadia screamed back as her chest heaved.

"This is me now! This is my reality!"

She scrabbled for another handful, but Emma was faster.

She crashed into Nadia and her arms wrapped tight around her trembling body.

That hug pinned Nadia's sticky, chemical-smeared hands to her sides.

Nadia fought like a trapped cat with fists, elbows and shrieks but Emma held on.

She rocked Nadia and kissed her sweaty forehead.

Eventually the fight drained out.

Nadia sagged, forehead dropping to Emma's shoulder for her to finally weep bitterly.

They cried like that for a full minute.

So it wasn't long until a panting Jenna got there and saw the two laughing together.

"I can't believe you stole a Bugatti!"

"Issac's Bugatti too, that was just crazy…"

"Yeah, but I like your crazy, Nad."

"And I like us…"

"You sure?"

"Always, sister… always."

The two ladies hugged each other in tears.

Jenna almost didn't want to interrupt.

She tilted her head and smiled affectionately.

"And that's the end of that."

══════

Scott's eyes snapped open to the faint glow of a night-light shaped like a rocket ship.

The wallpaper was the same faded blue with tiny astronauts floating across it.

The plastic TIE Fighter he made himself dangled from the ceiling on a fishing line.

His old Shadow Monger bedsheets were tucked too tight around his legs.

He was ten years old again.

The epiphany felt like a punch to the gut.

He jerked upright, heart already sprinting, and stared at his tiny, smooth hands.

No scars, no calluses, no blood under the nails.

That was unusual.

This was around the age he got constantly abused.

"What the hell…"

His voice cracked, high and childish.

The last thing he remembered was Milton's sneer and the needle sliding into his thigh.

Then nothing.

He scrambled out of bed as his tiny bare feet slapped cold hardwood.

The room smelled like fabric softener and old fear.

Every poster on the wall, every science fair trophy on the shelf, every stupid glow-in-the-dark star on the ceiling clawed at his chest.

His lungs forgot how to work.

"I need to get out of here… I need to get out of—"

He burned up as a sweat bead on his forehead.

His vision started to tunnel.

He yanked the door open and bolted.

Two small arms flung around his waist from the side.

"BIG BROTHER!"

It was Scottie.

Pigtails, gap-toothed grin, wearing the same purple dinosaur pajamas she loved since she was nine.

She squeezed him so hard his ribs creaked.

Scott froze, every muscle locked.

Over her bouncing head he saw Martha in the hallway with an apron on and a wooden spoon in one hand.

She looked… soft. Happy. Alive.

Martha smiled the way she never smiled after the first time Megaman put her through a wall.

"You had your shower already, sweetheart?"

She took gentle steps closer.

"Dinner's ready."

Scott's throat closed.

He could still feel claws around his neck from the last time she'd slammed him against a wall.

"I—I haven't… I'll do it, I promise, just don't—"

His voice cracked again.

His breath sawed in and out like broken glass.

Martha tilted her head.

"Hm?"

Then she knelt so her warm palms could affectionately cup his cheeks as she kissed his forehead exactly where the scar would be in twelve years.

"Don't worry, baby. Shower later."

She gave him a wide smile.

His mother was a very beautiful woman.

But her monstrous actions never let him see that.

"Let's go set the table… Dad's almost home."

Scottie tugged his hand.

"I get to sit next to you tonight! I called it!"

He couldn't speak.

He just nodded, robot-stiff, and let them pull him toward the kitchen.

They moved around him like nothing was wrong.

Scottie chatted about school as Martha hummed while she stirred spaghetti sauce that smelled like childhood before it turned rotten.

Scott dished out plates with shaking hands.

Every clink of ceramic sounded like a countdown.

Then the air split open outside.

A sonic boom rattled the windows hard enough to make the silverware dance.

Scottie squealed and bolted for the front door.

"DADDY!"

Scott followed because his trembling legs moved without permission.

Megaman stood in the front yard like a god touched down to earth.

A tall, square-jawed man with thick beards.

A dark blue super suit with a long white cape.

The same chiseled frame that looked heroic on every news channel and monstrous in his room at 2 a.m.

Scott's stomach folded in on itself.

Megaman laughed, deep and warm as he scooped Scottie into the air and spun her several times before finally setting her down.

To the world he was the ultimate patriot.

To Scott he was the man who broke his arm for spilling milk then smiled for cameras an hour later with the same hand that left bruises shaped like fingerprints.

Scott's fingers flew to his ribs.

His arms searched for the map of old pain.

Nothing. Smooth skin.

No evidence.

Megaman's boots thudded up the steps.

He unclipped the cape, folded it over one arm like it weighed nothing, and crouched until those famous blue eyes were level with Scott's.

"Your sister says you took real good care of her today."

Both massive hands settled on Scott's narrow shoulders in a very gentle way.

"I'm proud of you, son."

The world flashed white.

Scott gasped awake on his back, chest heaving like he'd been drowning.

Hospital lights. Antiseptic smell.

Beeping monitors.

And standing at the foot of the bed…

Nadia and Emma, both completely, gloriously naked.

Nadia's bronze skin glowed under the fluorescents as her long brownish-black hair spilled over her shoulders to frame her heavy, perfect breasts.

Her waist dipped in sharp before flaring out to hips and an ass so round and thick it looked sculpted by someone with sinful intentions.

She had such a charming body.

And her extremely private spot looked even sweeter up close especially with those few soft strands of hair peeking out from the neat little triangle shape.

When he had sex with Nadia in his dreams.

It looked exactly the same way.

Those little hairs on her were an odd turn on for him.

Then there was Emma.

Her skin was pale, with a soft pink blush on her cheeks.

Her breasts were full and perky, refusing to sag at all, and her rose-tipped nipples tightened from the cool air.

Her waist was so slim that Scott knew his hands would meet if he wrapped them around it. Below that, her hips curved out boldly into thick thighs… thighs he suddenly found himself wishing were wrapped around his head.

He rubbed his face.

"Oh. It's this dream again. Cool. Just be gentle."

They both folded their arms under their bare breasts.

They bounced in unison.

The ladies rolled their eyes in perfect sync.

Emma snorted.

"Of course he's had this one before."

Nadia shot her a look.

"Oh come on, like you haven't woken up sweaty dreaming the exact same thing."

Emma's lips twitched.

"Fair."

Scott lifted a brow.

His pulse still hammered from the last memory.

"I can see why this blue shit's addictive…"

Two smiles curved, wicked and warm.

They moved at the same time.

Nadia sliding in from the left, Emma from the right.

These beautiful ladies crawled onto the bed like succubi who planned to suck him dry.

Cool fingers slipped under the thin hospital gown to trace his chest as their nails dragged lightly over his nipples until his cock jerked hard against the fabric.

Nadia's hand found him first and wrapped around his shaft with a slow, possessive squeeze.

Emma joined a heartbeat later as both of them stroked in tandem while their slimy thumbs swiped over the head until his hips bucked involuntarily.

Emma leaned in, lips brushing his ear.

"It's not a dream, Scott."

Nadia kissed the corner of his mouth.

"But you're definitely gonna enjoy it."

Her face turned red.

『I can't believe Emma made me do this…』

She was trying so hard to look dirty.

But her shame levels were through the roof.

They kissed him together.

It was a very wet and dirty kiss.

Their soaking tongues slid against his until he groaned into their mouths.

A soft ping sounded in his ear.

[Ding! Harem expanded +$2,000,000 rewarded!]

Scott pulled back just enough to mutter.

"It did?"

Emma didn't see the floating text in the air.

She nipped his earlobe and whispered—

"Fun fact… Nadia's a virgin, so you'll have to be gentle with her first."

Her hand gave him another slow pump.

"But you already know how I like it."

Nadia's cheeks darkened, but her eyes glittered with heat and trust.

They climbed fully onto the bed.

Their smooth knees bracketed his thighs, gorgeous bodies pressed close, skin on skin.

Scott stared at the ceiling, exhaled shakily, and smiled like a monk who achieved Nirvana.

"Thank you, big guy…"
