The sand swirled and swirled, and with a whooshing sound, wave after wave of sand rolled over.

Evan looked up and saw the god Horus flapping his wings, and his huge body was slowly rising from the desert.

He looked much more disheveled than before, with the explosion leaving obvious marks on him.

His shiny armor was shattered, the feathers on his head were disheveled, and the flesh on the left side of his chest was drooping, exposing his stark white bones.

Magic power seeped out from the wound, exuding a terrifying aura.

The flesh and blood that separated from Horus turned into red mud and sand as it fell, and merged into the sand waves.

Wounding a god known for his strength to such an extent showed just how powerful Evan’s strike had been.

The magic power of the Philosopher’s Stone was enough to destroy everything, but it was not enough to defeat a god!

It was unexpected. Horus hadn’t anticipated that a human, who seemed as insignificant as an ant in his eyes, could unleash such tremendous power.

He now took it seriously, staring at Evan with cold eyes, and the energy orbs around him flashed a heart-pounding light.

A mortal dared to offend the dignity of a god, and there would be a price to pay!

He raised his right hand and pointed at Evan. Magic power gathered at his fingertips, forming a colorful energy orb.

Since you do not fear death, then go die!

Evan smiled bitterly. He was covered in wounds and his strength was rapidly depleted. Now he couldn’t even move.

Was this the best he could do?

Getting the eye from Horus — was it simply an impossible task from the start?

From the beginning to the end, he had no hope.

Or perhaps, at one point, he had thought he could defeat a god, but now that hope had turned into despair!

But the expected magic did not strike. Suddenly, a tentacle made of sand shot out from the abyss and tightly wrapped around Horus’s ankle and calf. In disbelief, he looked down at the suddenly appeared tentacle before being yanked down forcefully.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!!

The sound of Horus’s body colliding with the ground was even louder than when he had been struck down earlier.

He seemed to be going down and being dragged into an endless abyss by the tentacle.

As Horus moved downward, a large amount of sand and gravel gushed out.

Evan felt himself being lifted up; he looked down and saw the sand beneath him rising rapidly like a mountain.

He stared in shock at the sudden turn of events, unable to comprehend what was happening.

What was that tentacle? Why was Horus being dragged back? Was it Ramses II who intervened?

Evan had too many questions. A loud rumbling sound came from the abyss ravine. The entire desert was shaking violently. Even the air was trembling. The degree of vibration was much greater than anything Evan had caused earlier. Brilliant colorful lights emanated from the chasm.

That was the result of the collision of magical energy; the god Horus was battling below.

In a flash, towering sand waves hundreds of feet high surged forward, covering the sky and the sun. The yellow sand enveloped everything and swallowed everything.

Evan could hardly breathe. If this continued, he would be buried under the sand and suffocated to death.

He struggled to raise his wand, but because he had no strength left, he let it fall weakly.

Then, he was covered by a blue transparent orb of light, rising into the sky and flying towards where Ramses II was.

The orb of light rose, and Evan gasped for breath, feeling like he had been reborn.

He saw that in the abyss below, Horus was fighting another giant.

It was a god with a jackal’s head and a human body, who could manipulate the yellow sand to entangle Horus. His ferocity was beyond imagination, and he even opened his mouth and bit Horus directly. Horus also had an extra weapon in his hand, and every time he swung it, it carried a heart-pounding energy.

The two men fought evenly in the abyss of the desert, and the scene was breathtaking.

Even from a great distance, the energy radiating from their battle made Evan’s heart race — it was indescribable.

The only word that could capture the feeling was “awe” — a profound, soul-stirring awe.

“What’s going on down there?” he asked Ramses II.

“An unexpected sneak attack, or rather, a revenge that has been brewing for a long time,” Ramses II pondered. “This battle will last for a while, and a huge sandstorm will sweep across my lands. I must ensure that my people are prepared.”

“Who is the god fighting Horus?”

“Set, the most troublesome ally,” said Ramses II. “Violent and restless, yet very powerful … I think it must have been the sound of battle that drew him here. He and Horus are natural enemies — one is the god of the sky, the other the god of the desert, and both vie for the position of the Pharaoh’s protector.”

Evan realized that this was the god of war Set, also known as the god of sand and storms, who, along with Horus, served as the guardians of Upper and Lower Egypt.

It was said that the two of them had fought for thousands of years to become the pharaoh’s only protector.

According to legend, it was Set who had gouged out Horus’s left eye.

In terms of blood relationship, Set was the uncle of Horus, and the brother of Osiris, the god of fertility.

But Set killed Osiris out of jealousy, and there was a strong hatred between him and Horus who was seeking revenge.

“Alright, Evan, don’t worry about those two. Let them fight. Now, let’s talk about your situation — the time has come.”

“My test is over?” Evan asked breathlessly.

“That’s right, the test is over. Your performance was quite satisfactory. Though there were some unexpected events, you did better than I anticipated,” Ramses II said with a smile. “I will give you a replica of the Eye of Horus and the method to enter the temple and activate that weapon…”

His wand swept through the air, and the magic rune that Evan had seen at first appeared again, imprinted on the center of his forehead.

In an instant, a lot of information flooded into his mind.

The replica of the Eye of Horus, a gemstone, appeared out of thin air before him, slowly descending onto his lap.

“If you manage to see my servants more than two thousand years from now, this item will assist you, making them follow your commands,” Ramses II said. “This Eye is considered my symbol, and I do not intend to pass it on any further. Therefore, I will be the last Pharaoh to possess the Eye of Horus. Additionally, it can help you alter the rules of time three times…”

“What should I do?”

“There is a spell within the information I’ve given you. Use it after you travel to a new time point,” said Ramses II. “Well, you may go back at any time now; so while we still have some time, I want to talk to you about the item around your neck.”

“Are you talking about the Philosopher’s Stone?” Evan tried to take out the Locket, but he let his hand fall weakly, utterly exhausted.

“No, not the Philosopher’s Stone… Although it’s rare, it’s not impossible to make. At least, I have more than a dozen of them in my treasury. But it’s not your own power, and there are many restrictions on its use,” said Ramses II. “I want to talk about the Locket around your neck that holds the Philosopher’s Stone…”
