Chapter 51: Chapter 51 - stray nick’s mantion
After jumping into the wormhole, Auran’s vision went dark.
"This smell is terrible," he muttered, complaining about the awful stench that hit him.
After a short journey through the darkness—where Auran felt like he was being sucked through a tube—he saw a glimpse of light far ahead in the direction he was heading.
Swoosh!
Auran was pushed out from the wormhole’s mouth into the open. Turning around, he managed to land on his feet without falling.
After him came Henry, Nimuk, and Octo, who also managed to stand without collapsing after being ejected from the wormhole.
Once they were all out, the wormhole closed and disappeared from the ground.
Looking ahead, Auran saw that they had arrived in front of a giant gate leading to a magnificent mansion nestled in the center of a grey garden.
Marian was the first to step forward as she made her way toward the mansion gate, but before she could barge past, she was stopped by three muscular guards.
"Do you think this is a public place? Get out!" exclaimed one of the guards as he pushed Marian.
But she grabbed the man’s arm and pulled him down to his knees.
"What did you say, you punk?" she growled.
"I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’ll let the boss know someone came to visit him," the guard said quickly, with none of the rudeness he had shown earlier.
"No need. I’ll meet him myself," said Marian as she opened the gate and stepped in.
"Okay, but only you. The boss won’t let us live if we let a whole group crash into his place," said the guard.
Marian turned again and grabbed the guard by his collar.
"What’s that? Are you saying you won’t let my friends come in?" she asked.
"I... I’m sorry, but it’s the rule," said the guard hesitantly, unable to meet Marian’s intense gaze.
"You’re making me angry," Marian said, her voice trembling with fury.
"It’s okay. We’ll wait outside. You go and do whatever job you have to," Auran said from the side at that moment.
Only then did Marian release the guard from her grip.
"This will be over quickly," she said as she made her way down the road leading to the mansion.
From the gate, Auran and the others watched her as she walked away. Then he looked at the guards Marian had confronted, and they awkwardly looked away, avoiding eye contact.
On her way down the short road leading to the mansion, Marian saw a figure rushing toward her.
"You must be the guest that the security at the gate informed me about," said the figure, who was actually another guard.
"Follow me. I’ll guide you to our boss. You came here to meet him, right?"
The guard took the lead, and Marian followed behind him.
The two gradually came to the mansion and entered through the giant door. After that, the guard guided Marian through a specific section of the mansion until they ended up in a wide open area filled with a group of powerful-looking individuals.
As soon as they arrived, the man who had led Marian quickly took a step forward and jumped away.
"It’s her! She’s the one the boss told us to take care of—kill her!" he screamed, and the group of people immediately began attacking Marian.
Those skilled in hand-to-hand combat were the first to rush at her. With their powerful bodies, they threw strikes from all sides, not giving her a chance to evade.
However, Marian didn’t flinch. She dashed straight toward the first man in line, clapping her fists together before slamming them into the man’s face—crushing his skull and spilling blood. The blood that pooled from the injured man twisted into sharp, knife-like shapes and shot themselves toward the others rushing at Marian.
She didn’t stop with the first man and continued to crush the others that stood in her way.
{Wind Cutter!}
Suddenly, several of the blood knives were sliced apart by a sharp gust of wind. Holding one of her victims by the arm, Marian turned to see a group of specialized individuals standing behind the others.
"They must be long-range magicians, not skilled in close combat. Nick, you must’ve spent quite a lot to hire them," she said coldly.
After seeing the group, Marian didn’t waste any more time with the others and quickly rushed toward them.
Fortunately, none of them seemed exceptionally powerful.
On her way, she extended her arm, and the blood spilled all over the place from her victims gathered onto her hand, forming a giant hammer.
Holding the hammer tightly, Marian swung it toward the group of long-range magicians with all her strength.
{Iron Shield}
{Barrier Wall}
{Minor Mana Shield}
{Iron Skin}
The magicians cast as many protective spells as they could, but the massive, bloody hammer struck down with immense force—Marian being of a rank above every magician present.
As a result, all of their protection spells shattered like dust and were crushed under the weight of the hammer, as if they were bugs.
Only a few managed to jump away at the last moment and narrowly save their lives.
However, before anyone could sigh in relief at having saved their lives, Marian grabbed them.
"Now, should I proceed to kill you, or would you be wise enough to lead me to where Nick is?" she asked with a sinister expression.
---
"Oh, look at that guy. He looks nothing like the previous one."
"No no, that woman—look at her. She has a charm of her own."
"She’s nothing like that guy."
"What about that short guy?"
"Sh... short guy? Where? I need to hide!"
In front of the gate leading to the Stray Nick’s mansion, Auran and the others leaned against the wall as they observed the street—more specifically, the inhuman figures moving left and right.
Sitting among them, Auran had already taken out another Brain Declaration Potion and was sipping it slowly.
"Hmm!" At that moment, Henry heard the sound of the gate reopening. Looking back, he saw a group of guards—each looking very strong—stepping out and heading in their direction.
As they got closer, Henry also noticed that none of them had a kind expression on their faces; in fact, they looked at them as if they were enemies.
