Chapter 84: Chapter 84 - regret and avenge ll

The children they had brought recently were all cuffed in chains and dragged to the mining area. Each one of them was handed a mining tool before being forced to mine the giant crystals in front of them.

"Hurry up, you useless maggots! There has to be ten thousand pieces by the end of the day!" a woman screamed while whipping the kids.

Nearby, there was an open hut, and behind it stood a closed one. Under the open hut was a group of people who seemed to be overseeing everything.

There were a few tables filled with various types of food. Drnim lay in a chair closest to the table, being fed by several young girls.

At the moment, as he was biting off a sausage, a few pieces fell onto his clothes. But the little girl feeding him didn’t notice.

"Am I the one who needs to clean this?" Drnim’s voice came sharply as the girl tried to walk away to fetch another sausage. His voice frightened her.

Looking back, she saw Drnim glaring down at his own clothes, where pieces of sausage had fallen.

"Are my attendants getting weak now? You know what happens to the ones who show weakness, don’t you? The diggers are always happy to welcome you into their nests. After being fed your friend’s flesh, they can’t eat anything else again."

The girl quickly moved and began to clean Drnim’s clothes, but suddenly, he grabbed her by the wrist and squeezed tightly. The little girl knelt down in pain.

"Oh, does it hurt? So you do remember what pain feels like. Then don’t make me remind you next time," he said coldly.

"Hey, don’t hurt my sweet little kitty," said another figure approaching. He was a slightly fat man who grabbed the girl’s other hand and touched her in a disturbing way. "Look, she’s already shivering," he said, his hand slowly sliding from her arm to her body.

"Huh?" At that moment, Drnim felt like someone was watching them from afar. A second later, he realized it wasn’t his imagination.

"Who’s that?" he asked, pointing at the figure he saw in the distance.

The fat man turned toward the direction Drnim pointed and, seeing someone standing there, let go of the little girl and walked forward.

"Hey, why are you coming back?" he asked, thinking it was one of the guards from the outer areas or one of the people feeding the diggers.

However, the figure suddenly raised his hand.

{Wailing Agony}

Henry cast the spell from his hand, instantly releasing a wave of dark mist that absorbed into the fat man.

"What...?"

"Whoa!"

The others immediately grew cautious upon seeing it, and Drnim stood up in a hurry.

{Wailing Agony.}

{Wailing Agony.}

{Wailing Agony.}

"..."

Henry continued casting the spell nonstop, silently unleashing the torment upon the entire group.

"Ugh, Arghhhh!" Suddenly, the first victim of the spell — the fat man — began screaming as if suffering from immeasurable pain.

He fell to the floor and clawed at his own body to the point that, bit by bit, his skin began to tear off. After a second, all the others Henry had cast the spell on also began to scream in the same way. They fell to the ground, some running blindly until they hit something and collapsed. Others grabbed knives and scratched their own skin or even attempted to kill themselves.

"Don’t bother trying to relieve the pain. Wailing Agony transfers the sensation of pain others suffer directly into your body. No matter what you do, it won’t stop unless I dispel it," said Henry, looking at the fat man on the ground, now barely recognizable as he tore into his own flesh.

"Enemy! Attack him!" Seeing almost all his surrounding allies screaming, Drnim finally acted, shouting his command at the one figure still standing.

To his command, three men responded. Two of them charged at Henry, while the third began casting a spell.

{Sinking Sand}

From the spell’s name, Henry immediately recognized that the caster was from the Earth Magic field. He could already feel the ground beneath him becoming softer.

Leaping away from the collapsing ground, Henry cast another spell, striking one of the two men rushing at him.

"Your mana resistance is terrible. It only takes a second for the spell to take effect," he muttered — and just as he said, the curse activated instantly, sending the man into a screaming frenzy.

The other attacker reached Henry and struck. Henry dodged the first blow thanks to the attacker’s predictable movement, but the second swing connected.

"Ugh!"

"A body-strengthening user..." he muttered. Then, grabbing the attacker’s arm, he cast Wailing Agony directly.

The man immediately froze, then shrieked in agony and stumbled away, rolling on the ground.

Having dealt with the two melee fighters, Henry turned his attention toward the earth magician. But at that moment, several pieces of rock flew at him, transforming mid-air into sharp nails aimed at his body.

"Ugh!"

The nails pierced through Henry’s side — but luckily, he managed to shift enough to avoid having any of them hit a vital spot.

{Negative Sensation}

He retaliated with another spell, aimed at the earth magician. Focused on controlling the rock nails, the mage failed to dodge in time.

As soon as the spell took effect, the very nails that were floating around Henry suddenly turned, rushing back toward their original caster. They shot through him, piercing his chest and head — and ultimately killing him.

"Huh, same thing happened with those two in the forest. Looks like I have a high affinity with Negative Sensation spells," Henry muttered to himself after seeing the result.

"Now, where’s the other one?" With all the others taken care of, Henry looked around to find the one who had been leading them.

Arghh!

Suddenly, Drnim came running at Henry, holding an unknown tool in his hand.

Thuk!

Aiming at Henry, Drnim fired the tool, which released a net.

Henry jumped to avoid it, but his reaction was too late, and he got entangled in it.

"Khaha—ha! I caught you! I caught a curse magician!" Drnim exclaimed in joy, watching Henry struggle to escape from the net.

"How does it feel to be caught by a healing magician, huh?" he asked mockingly.

"Actually, you used a tool with trap magic," Henry said calmly.

"So what? Even if it’s a tool, I still caught you. This tool isn’t easy to get either—it’s embedded with anti-magic enchantments! I was lucky to buy it at a cheap price from someone I know," Drnim bragged, showing off the trap like it was a prized trophy.

"Hmm... I don’t think you tested it before. If you had, you would’ve already known you got scammed."
