Heart Over Sword-Chapter 301: Wedding of the Century (2)
Chapter 301: Wedding of the Century (2)
Near the middle rows on Evanna’s family side were the men and woman closest to her. Ger sat in the last seat next to glowing flowers in a bouquet beside the aisle. He may not be with the woman he was moving on from, but he still wanted to see her walk down the aisle. It was already hurting him, something he didn’t think would be possible after all he’d been through, but here he was with a small stabbing sensation in his heart. Yet, simultaneously, he was happy for Evanna.
Although Ger would be forced to leave soon, the slight rumbling and itch to spill blood becoming ever so present, he would have left nonetheless. It would be better for both of them that he did. Beside him, Axel’s thoughts were the complete opposite. He stared at everything in awe and had misty eyes before even seeing his precious younger sister walking down the aisle. She’d grown up so quickly in such a short time! He’d had such little time to spend with her, and now she was about to get married and live in a foreign land!
Axel sighed dreamily. The mammoth of a man, his broad shoulders and size, started to cause a stir behind him, one enough to snap him out of his dopiness. The elven ladies had been whispering among themselves, some irritated that they couldn’t look past his height.
Yet, they did not speak in Muranthian. Axel could understand them. His ears had grown red and his mind utterly confused and blank, his mouth almost agape.
"He’s just so... big," one gushed, almost squealing.
"So manly and rugged," another breathed.
"Stop it! Our elven men are far more superior-"
"Pfft! They are pretty... He... He is... exactly how a man should be. I wonder what it would be like to be held against those huge muscles..."
"Shhh! He can hear you!"
"I want him to."
Axel’s eyebrows shot upwards, and Ronan’s shoulders shook as he held back his laughter. Axel looked over his shoulder, unable to hold back his curiosity. He knew without looking that these women were out of his league. The one directly behind him who wanted him to hear her looked at him with sparkling brown eyes like that of a doe’s and beautiful chestnut hair. She was absolutely captivating, and whatever obsession she might have with him would soon diminish. Like her friend said, he was not pretty like their elven men.
Axel nodded once in greeting and turned back to face the front.
"His name is Axel, and he is single!" Ronan winked at them, causing them to gasp. Axel’s eyes bugged out, and he smacked his friend on the shoulder and tried to shrink in his seat.
"Why are you acting so shy?" The woman with chestnut hair asked right beside his ear. Axel turned his head, shocked she was leaning over, staring up at him like he was some sort of good-looking god! "You know, it only makes me more curious. Axel, it’s a wonderful name. I am Nariel."
Nariel. "Beautiful," Axel mumbled before clearing his throat as his ears reddened more to her breathy, delighted giggle. Her name truly was beautiful, and she had to be blind to take such interest in him, but he wouldn’t complain of the lass’s attention.
Ronan watched his friend, a genuine smile on his face. It was about time the big oath found someone. Or even if this Nariel wasn’t serious, Axel should at least get his dick wet. Axel was more of a gentleman than any, even if he looked least likely to act so. Especially compared to himself. Somehow, the elves behind them figured out he was not a one-woman man. Well... He would have been, for a certain woman, about to walk down the aisle. Ah well, there were plenty of beautiful flowers; maybe a few might have a few thorns like Raven, he hoped so.
Ronan smirked to himself, then felt the gaze of the man sitting beside him. Garrett clicked his tongue, his stern, faceless expression turning from Ronan’s after a small hand slid along his inner thigh, making the elf’s back straighten. Who would have thought Fiza would attend Evanna’s wedding?
Was she invited, or did she just invite herself? The latter seemed more likely, yet Evanna did have some strange connection with her. Who would have also guessed she would attend and act as Garrett’s date?
The fae stuck her tongue out at Garrett when he swatted her hand and clasped the side of her neck with his large hand. She was fearless even as Garrett glared at her, a glare that had made ice fall down Ronan’s back one too many times. These two were an odd pair anyway. I could see the strain on his pants from his hard-on, and Fiza was looking at him like she wanted to straddle him; all the while, he kept his hand around her neck.
Kinky fuckers.
Garrett wanted to slam Fiza against the wall and take her. His thoughts shouldn’t be going there, but the fae was being a little tease, especially with how those starlight eyes looked at him with so much heat. He didn’t know when she slithered under his skin, but he couldn’t remove her now.
Fiza was meant to be travelling the fae lands, yet she came to attend Arawn and Evanna’s wedding, and she’d been insistent on sneaking into Garrett’s chambers. Slowly, after his watch was done, he’d been doing the same. Though there was no sneaking into a spymaster’s bed chambers. Every time, she attacked him from a new position. He was sure it was all a part of her game, one he didn’t mind playing.
The doors behind everyone were tugged open by the guards on either side of the door. Next to enter the atrium was Arawn, dressed in white, his hair in a half-up hairstyle, a silver thorny crown behind his head. His ethereal appearance was accentuated by his piercing blue eyes that were complimented by the subtle shimmery hue of his attire, elevating his overall striking presence. He was a prince but already walked the aisle like a king.
