Chapter 338: Chapter 337-Fun.

"A situation that is twisted."

Hephaestus spoke, the eye spearing down and pressing at Azrail, who understood the meaning of the words. It will then combine into two situations: either the move that Azrail is doing right now is something that will be helpful to Hera, something that is helping her, or Azrail has somehow broken through a contract that is impossible to break free from.

But the question of the first choice comes with a problem hard to believe. The information that Azrail had written in the scroll that Hephaestus took contains a bit more detailed path on which these people are taking to bring down Hera, and if she knew it by then, their actions would have been tougher to establish. As Azrail said, Hera’s fate is sealed.

It was something set in motion far too long ago, and changing that is impossible now, but that doesn’t mean the situation can’t get twisted. And if Hera did know what was written by Azrail, then the situation should have been twisted a long time ago.

’An unknown unwilling situation.’

Azrail could understand the thought process here. What would Hephaestus’s next step be?

Should he take into account that Azrail is someone who has broken through a seal placed on him? Then how will it be that Hephaestus could trust Azrail to make any kind of contract? The word of another is rarely upheld, so forming any kind of trust is difficult.

And even if it’s the first option, then perhaps there would be a rarer game at play, and Hephaestus would perhaps fall into a trap set in a path he might not be able to see. Both ways sounded bad for the people involved in this situation, so the next steps, or for any kind of actions to be taken, there is no path that lies.

’And I need to give him that path.’

Azrail’s mind fumbled with the information. What the next action should be will be the most important one.

"It’s a no-win situation if you look at it from an angle. You can’t hold me here or torture me, you can’t seemingly trust a contract that will be formed, but right now, at this moment, you can help make a choice."

"Hahaha...the arrogance in you could match the Titans back on the day..."

Hephaestus muttered, his curiosity fully lit, but that still didn’t mean he was about to jump into this without any plan or focus put in. The eye made of fire seemed to shift and turn, and Azrail could feel the heat rise again: a certain edge to pressure that seemed to be trying to bundle him up into a ball.

"The cosmos is vast and even I, who has lived through many of the unspoken cycles can’t seem to tell what it completely contains, but I know an anomaly when I see one: someone that walks a path or possesses something the cosmos hasn’t seen....yet."

The bundle of joy in his voice was concentrated, but above all that, Azrail could feel the passion of it—the passion of a creator that seems to tremble and shine with a certain emotion to it.

"I know that you broke the contract. Let me guess, you were sent here to gain my trust because you mentioned to her that perhaps I might have a hand in her fall?"

The words are making Azrail twitch.

’Damn these old monsters. Dealing with them is a pain.’

Azrail could feel like his schemes were open to interpretation to Hephaestus, but Azrail had already considered that. What Hephaestus will see is only the outer layer of Azrail’s plan; he will never be able to see the end goal that Azrail is playing towards.

"I did. She didn’t believe it, but she still made her move with me, and if you were to use me, perhaps the plans set in motion would flow even more smoothly."

At those words, a heavy sound of laughter sounded out—one filled with the emotion of fun.

"Use you. It’s funny: a situation where you are using Her and where you want to use me. A boy who is barely a baby in my eyes wants to mess and play in the scheme of the Gods. You got guts, I can give you that, and I like it."

There was only humour in the tone of Hephaestus, as if he was looking at a little amusement in his life, and Azrail understood it too.

’In the grand scheme of things, I won’t be able to do anything to them at all: just an ant they can have fun with.’

Azrail knows that it’s the same with Hera. Doesn’t she believe that Azrail will be truly the one who shall be of great help to her?

Not at all.

Azrail was interesting. Azrail’s character opened up some fun, and Hera fell in with that to see what this young ant that came her way, boasting about, will do. The moment Azrail turns away any fun from her, he will be thrown away without a second thought. Azrail is more of the wild card; Hera just simply put in place.

In the end, she acted as if Azrail were something important. Everything she did was just to make the young boy feel like he is important: a classic tale and use of the Gods, and it’s the same for Hephaestus too. Sure, Azrail seems to know too much, but once again, in their eyes, he is still a little ant that can’t make big waves.

’I am giving him the fun he wants, even more, showing as an anomaly he can’t help but want to create for.’

Azrail’s mind ran with options. Every step that Azrail took was intended to focus and match: him selecting Hera, him fighting with that domain, and now the recommendation that ended up with him now with Hephaestus. Every path and every thread was carefully created and pulled by Azrail to end up here. It was all planned.

Azrail had created this plan from all the information he had: understood the basis and working of how each God function. If it were any other gods, they would have just squeezed the life out of Azrail or toyed with torture for fun, but Hephaestus is among the Gods that enjoy seeing and watching and even getting involved and guiding the story of ’Heroes’ or more accurately anomalies.

His great interest and fun come from his weapons—things he creates that are used in the legends of the cosmos, in the hands of powerful beings. Hephaestus as a whole has more of a laid back sight: creation and stories being in his best interests, which is brought down from his greatest asset.....’curiosity.’

And Azrail has now awakened that very curiosity deep within him. The threads were slowly forming in the eyes of Azrail—his plans for the future slowly coming together. Thus, Azrail looked up at the fiery eyes as Hephaestus spoke. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Sure, I will be of use in this game you want to play, but first, I want to check something."

Before Azrail could even reply, he was once again squeezed into nothing and moved, and before Azrail could react, he was once again brought to another location, but this time, the scene in front of Azrail made his eyes widen.
