’’Ma’am! Young master Kratos has another bouquet of flowers.’’ Lisa announced happily as she entered her office with a bunch of flowers in a fine ceramic vase.

The sight was so familiar to Ayana that she didn’t need Lisa to tell her the name of the sender.

’’You have always been excited receive the flowers more than the recipient, Lisa.’’ Ayana glanced at her assistant’s cheery face in amusement. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Every time she received flowers from her fiancé, Lisa has always been particularly excited and jittery like she was the recipient of the delivery.

’’Well, ma’am.....’’ At this point, Lisa was not embarrassed anymore. Her boss had always pointed out her unusual attitude towards the Young master Kratos’ delivery.

She has been with her boss for almost nine years now. Her boss had always been a kind person to her, and Lisa had developed a soft spot for the hard-working young lady.

Her boss literally grew right under eyes from a young lady to charming grown lady. Lisa felt like a big sister experiencing the growth of her younger sister.

It doesn’t help that she has two unruly brats as brothers in her family. Being with her boss had probably fulfilled her desire of having a young sister.

’’Thank you, Lisa.’’ Lisa heard her boss say as she carefully placed the flowers on the office desk. Her eyes caught sight of the inserted envelope in the ceramic vase along with the flowers.

’How sweet.’ The corner of her lips tugged up as she respectfully withdrew from the office.

There was a reason why she had always been particularly excited about the relationship between her boss and the rumored Young master Kratos.

Lisa was a total sucker for romance.

Love stories in general.

Her entire book shelves at home were fully packed with romance paperbacks. Even her phone had reading apps that she downloaded fluffy and romantic stories during her free time.

Basically, she was addicted to romance, and witnessing the development between her boss and her fiancé was like watching the live show of one of her completed online stories.

The love between two strong-headed billionaires.

An r18 book that certainly hit the horny spot, and the tension between the main characters was so out of the world. Lisa couldn’t stop herself from comparing her boss and the Young master Kratos with those two main characters that couldn’t get enough from each other.

’I hope the author writes a book 2 though.’ Lisa let out a sigh as she entered her office that was nearby and on the same floor.

Indeed, her boss’s relationship was similar to that steamy story...but!

The development between her boss and the rumored Young master Kratos seemed to be as slow as a snail.

Young master Kratos doesn’t bother to pay a personal visit to her boss.

Her boss doesn’t seem like one in a relationship because she worked from morning to night, practically every day!

At this point, the Young master Kratos only sends flowers and nothing else to her boss in the office.

Perhaps the bouquet was a special love language between them, or they must have progressed much more than her keen observation.

When Lisa realized that her thoughts were not in the line of her work and going haywire, she quickly stopped herself from furthering them. As a personal assistant, she couldn’t have personal thoughts about her boss or her relationships.

Focus on work Lisa!

She must focus so that she could go home early and spend time with her family on Christmas eve!

Indeed, as Lisa guessed in her office, the bouquet was similar to a love language in the relationship between Ayana and her fiancé. When Lisa had left the office, Ayana pushed her work aside and lifted the ceramic vase closer to her.

*Snap*

She took a quick shot of the flowers on her office desk and forwarded the photo to the man who wanted to turn her office into a flower shop.

*You must be really determined to turn my office into a flower shop, Axel.* She quickly typed under the photo and sent the message to him. Her eyes instinctively shifted upward to the time on her phone and guessed it must be night time now with the time difference.

The time clocked 4:55pm and Axel was currently in France.

Ayana put her phone aside and checked for the envelope with the flowers. Her fingers were more than familiar with cracking the seal open, and she took out another beautiful greeting card that Axel must have left his message inside for her.

She opened the card, her heart racing as her eyes read the familiar handwriting.

*Dear Ayana, It’s been almost nine months that we’ve seen each other aside from our video calls. Not as day has passed by without missing your rare smiles. I’ve always missed the holidays in New York and deeply regret not spending our Christmas together. Last year, I made a secret vow that I must celebrate this Christmas eve with you. By the time you’re reading this card, I’ve already booked my flight from Paris to New York. If all goes as planned, I estimate that I should arrive at night hours in New York. I’ll be waiting for you at the spot where we had our first date.

Forever yours,

Axel Kratos.*

’’....He’s really making it hard for me all these years.’’ Ayana remarked with a melancholy smile after reading the writing once again. Which lady wouldn’t fall for a man that puts her first in every way?

Over the four years, she and Axel had steadily developed their relationship despite the miles of distance between them.

Ayana couldn’t say they were lovers per say, but she and Axel were definitely more than just close friends.

Axel had always made it clear that he was pursuing her. It was she who still had a line drawn against his intentions.

However, Ayana could never deceive herself that she had never felt something during all those years. No matter how distant she came off to Axel, he would press harder with his actions and words.

Ayana carefully placed the greeting card aside and dialed the office number of her personal assistant on the office landline.

’’Lisa....’’

’’Yes ma’am?’’ A second did not pass by until her assistant picked up the call.

"Check if anyone from the Kratos family has booked a reservation at Étoile Royale." Her eyes remained on the greeting card.

’’On it, ma’am.’’
