HEIRESS REBORN: MARRYING HER EX-FIANCÉ-Chapter 87: Lucinda’s birthday (2)
’’Happy birthday once again, Eldest madam.’’
’’May the heavens bless your new age, Eldest madam!’’
’’Eldest madam Kingston has truly raised such a remarkable daughter.’’
’’Hosting yearly banquets for her parents, my daughters can learn a thing or two from the first young miss.’’
"Oh my, have you seen her latest movie?"
"Indeed, she’s undeniably talented as an actress."
"Well, she is the Eldest Madam’s daughter. Expecting anything less would be unthinkable."

As the celebrant of the birthday banquet, Lucinda wore a warm smile fitting for the occasion. She was surrounded by many well-wishers, most of which came with intentions of forging connections with her family for their own benefits...as always.
Well...she never expected less from these bootlickers.
Today was her birthday and her precious daughter hosted another birthday banquet for her. If Lucinda was proud of something most in her life, it would be the birth of her precious daughter, Arabella.
Arabella was a miniature of her youthful self, and Lucinda had made sure to bring up Arabella the way she had handled society as an unmarried young lady.
Never fight at the battlefront and be smart in dealing with people to achieve your goals and desires. Be elegant and confident as a woman with a good reputation. Always be the winner in life, especially in the likes of men and marriage.
Lucinda had always strictly instilled these values in her daughter, especially with the scandal that happened years ago. Her daughter’s damaged reputation was something she never wanted to witness in their lives again.
’’Eldest madam....’’
When another madam called to offer her wishes, the corner of Lucinda’s smile almost twitched in response.
Eldest madam.
She deeply abhorred the title.
Even if it seemed like she was before others as the eldest, Lucinda felt that such title mocked her deeply. By marrying someone like her husband, she was meant to be a proud winner of life.
Yet, she married in as the wife of a managing director in an entertainment company of the Kingston corporation.
Not the wife to the President of the Kingston corporation.
It also didn’t help that these madams around here had once addressed her as Madam Kingston.
That was after the death of her younger sister-in-law. Most of them must have believed that her husband would eventually take over the Kingston family. Even she had been under assumption that she would be the true Madam Kingston.
The title originally belonged to her, and not her late sister-in-law. It was merely returning to its rightful owner.
But...who would have expected that little girl to have become the President of the Kingston corporation? Her husband, on the other hand, remained the same as the managing director of the Kingston entertainment company all these years.
As if that was not enough to insult her and her husband, tales had recognized that girl as one the youngest female billionaire in the world.
With most of the power in that hands of that little girl, Lucinda wasn’t surprised when she witnessed how these madams returned back to addressing her with ’Eldest madam.’
’’Happy forty eighth birthday, Eldest madam Kingston.’’ Lucinda’s gaze shifted slightly as she regarded a familiar madam appearing before her.
Madam Hitson.
’’Times indeed flies so quickly. I remember the times we spent in high school, then graduated and married much later. We had children, and now, celebrating our late forties.’’ She let out sigh as she recalled the past that she remembered her experiences like they just occurred yesterday.
The times when she graduated from schools,
Her engagement and wedding,
The birth of her daughter,
And now, she and Lucinda were nearing the age of fifty.
Times really does flies when one really doesn’t focus much on the moment.
Madam Hitson got a bit emotional, but she held herself, not wanting to display any hint of weakness, especially in the presence of her long-time nemesis.
’’Thank you for coming, Madam Hitson.’’ As always, Lucinda wasn’t particularly pleased about Madam Hitson. This woman’s existence practically meant trouble in her life, and she was that shameless to look for that on her birthdays.
Well, there was nothing other than to smile at the latter. She wasn’t that petty to chase the woman and her family out of her birthday banquet.
Besides, she would also return the favor in Madam Hitson’s birthday banquet.
Madam Hitson would certainly get the taste of her own medicine, and they would be even by the time that moment arrived in the near future.

’’....the first young miss.’’
’’Actress Bella....’’
’’...the first young master.’’
Lucinda’s ears pricked at the sudden rise in murmurs and chatters. Hearing the title of her daughter mentioned, her sky blue eyes quickly searched for the familiar figure of her precious Arabella
Her face brightened the moment she spotted her daughter approaching, accompanied by a distant relative who had been adopted as her son.
Approval flashed her eyes as she observed her daughter’s beautiful countenance that instantly turned all eyes in admiration.
There was once a time when her daughter was being looked down upon for choosing the path of an actress. Even she wasn’t in full support of the unpredictable career, but look at her daughter now, with a flourishing career as a rising global actress.
"Arabe..." Lucinda began, her voice filled with affection, but she barely managed to call her daughter’s name before Madam Hitson’s voice overwhelmed hers.
’’Indeed, an apple doesn’t fall far from a tree.’’ She remarked with a few nods. ’’You remind so much of the Eldest madam in her youth.’’ Madam Hitson grinned at Arabella before shifting her gaze to the one who she came truly for in the birthday banquet.
’’And you must be the adopted young master of the Kingston family.’’ Her sharp eyes scanned Liam in neatly ironed suit from head to toe. ’’You are even more handsome in person than on TV. ’’ A fleeting glimmer of approval crossing her features.
’’I am much flattered, Madam Hitson.’’ Liam replied with a polite smile.
Madam Hitson inwardly approved of his humble reply and countenance. Indeed, he was a modest as the rumors portrayed him despite his connection with the Kingston family.
’’Well, my daughter is more of an admirer than myself.’’ She chuckled softly. ’’She’s a great fan of your movie, a kiss in summer. Isn’t that right, Lilian?’’ Madam Hitson added, glancing over to her daughter, who met up with her before the arrival of her nemesis’s children.
"M-Mother..." Lilian stammered, her cheeks flushing a soft pink as she realized all eyes had turned toward her. Annoyance bubbled within her chest at her mother’s boldness and assertiveness, especially in front of the man she admired deeply.
’’Why so shy now, my dear?’’
Lucinda’s eyes flashed with disdain, regarding the mother and daughter pair. Was Madam Hitson planning to marry her daughter into the Kingston through Liam?
Even if, Madam Hitson didn’t need to make it that obvious to her.
Had she thought she was the only with her eyes set on Liam? Other madams had hinted at similar intentions in marrying their daughters to Liam over the years. Lucinda found Madam Hitson’s blatant efforts almost laughable.
She couldn’t blame either for their actions. After all, Liam wasn’t just admired for his princely looks and charm, earning him the nickname Prince Liam, but also for his immense success as one of the most sought-after actors in the entertainment industry. Coupled with his connection to the powerful Kingston family through adoption, he was easily one of the most eligible bachelors in the society.
Lucinda wasn’t surprised that some young misses have started to admire him with the intention of marriage. His prospects as a son-in-law was indeed good and suitable.
Even she would have done the same if she were same as Madam Hitson and likes for her own daughter.
’’Young miss Hitson’s admiration is no surprise.’’ Lucinda remarked lightly, her teasing tone directed to the bashful Lilian. ’’ Liam’s talents have captivated many and more, both on-screen and off. Though, I imagine he must be quite accustomed to such admiration by now." Her gaze shifted over to the Madam Hitson with a smile not reaching her eyes.
