Help! I transmigrated to a Beast World-Chapter 95: The Goddess Reveals Herself
"WAIT!" She pounded on it. "LET ME OUT! I CHANGED MY MIND!"
There was no response from the other side.
Only darkness.
And silence.
"System," Xin Yi whispered. "System, I’m scared."
System didn’t respond to her. What was going on? Why had it suddenly gone mute?
Xin Yi took a shaky breath.
Then another.
Then started walking.
Into the darkness.
Slowly, light began to appear, and not from torches or crystals.
From the walls themselves.
They were covered in flowers.
Lotuses. Hundreds of them. Thousands of them. Growing from the stone like it was the most natural thing in the world.
White. Pink. Purple. Blue.
All glowing softly.
And between the flowers.....
Serpents.
Carved into the stone. Painted on the walls. Coiled around the pillars.
The symbol. The mark. Everywhere.
"What is this place?" Xin Yi whispered to herself.
She kept walking.
The passage opened into a chamber.
MASSIVE.
So large she couldn’t see the walls nor see the ceiling.
There was just space, a space filled with light. And in the center...
A lotus.
But not a normal lotus.
This one was HUGE. Massive, almost the size of a building. Its petals were pure white and glowed like the sun.
And coiled around its base.....
A serpent.
Real. Alive. MASSIVE.
Its scales were iridescent. Shifting between colors. Its eyes were closed. And it was.....sleeping?
"What the hell," Xin Yi breathed.
"System?" she whispered desperately. "SYSTEM?!"
[...]
Nothing.
The System was still quiet.
She was alone.
With a giant lotus.
And a giant snake.
In an ancient temple.
Underground.
"This is fine," she muttered. "Everything is FINE."
She approached slowly.
Carefully.
The serpent didn’t move.
Its breathing was slow. Steady. Deep.
It was definitely sleeping.
Okay. Okay. Lán Yù said to touch the lotus. So I just.....touch it. And then what? I meet a goddess? How does that even WORK?
She reached out.
Her hand trembling.
Closer.
Closer.
Her fingers brushed against a petal.
And everything went WHITE. Blinding. Overwhelming. All-consuming white.
"WHAT—"
The chamber disappeared.
The serpent disappeared.
Everything disappeared.
~
When she opened her eyes again, she was.....floating?
In nothing.
In WHITENESS. Ehh???
"Where am I?" Her voice echoed. "What is this?! HELLO?!"
Then she heard it.
Laughter.
Light. Melodic. Almost filled with a mischievous energy.
"Hellooooo~"
A shape appeared in the whiteness.
Golden. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Glowing.
Moving toward her.
It got closer.
Closer.
And resolved into......
A woman?
No.
Not quite.
She was small. Tiny. Maybe the size of Xin Yi’s hand. Floating. Glowing with a golden light.
She had long, flowing hair that seemed to be made of pure light itself. Her skin was luminous. Her eyes were ancient, old beyond measure, but sparkling with youthful mischief.
She wore robes that shifted and flowed like gold. And behind her...
Wings?
No. Not wings.
Light. Pure concentrated light shaped like wings.
She looked like....
Like a goddess.
Like something that should not exist.
Like something IMPOSSIBLE.
She twirled in the air. Spun. Did a little loop-de-loop. Then stopped right in front of Xin Yi’s face.
And smiled.
Bright. Beautiful. Terrifying.
"Hello!" Her voice was cheerful. Light. Like tinkling bells. "I’m Mán Shū!"
Xin Yi’s brain short-circuited.
"Ehhhh??????"
Mán Shū giggled. "You look confused! That’s okay! Everyone looks confused when they first meet me! Well, not that a lot of people have met me!" She floated closer. Peered at Xin Yi’s face. "Hmm. You’re cute! I like you already!"
"I..." Xin Yi’s mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. "You’re......you’re Mán Shū?" This tiny thing?!
"Yep!" She did another little spin. "The one and only! Goddess of Transmigration! Creator of Marks! Bringer of Others!" She struck a pose. "Pretty cool, right?"
"I....." Xin Yi’s brain was trying very hard to process. "You’re a.....a FAIRY?"
"Eh? What? You dare call me that?" Mán Shū looked offended. "I am not a fairy! I’m a GODDESS! There’s a difference!"
"You are TINY!"
"Size is relative!" Mán Shū huffed. She snapped her fingers.
Suddenly, she was HUGE. Towering over Xin Yi like a giant.
"See? I can be big!"
Snap.
She was tiny again.
"But I prefer this size! It’s cuter! And way less intimidating!" She floated upside down, her hair defying gravity. "So! You’re Xin Yi, right? The newest transmigrator?"
"How do you—"
"I know EVERYTHING!" Mán Shū sang. "I’m a goddess! Duh!"
"But—"
"You have questions! SO many questions! I can see them swirling in your little human brain!" She tapped Xin Yi’s forehead. "Like: Why am I here? Why did I transmigrate? What’s with the mark? Who is Mán Shū? Why are there krakens? Why is everything so WEIRD?"
"YES!" Xin Yi grabbed at the tiny goddess. "YES! ALL OF THOSE! ANSWER THEM!"
Mán Shū dodged easily. Giggling. "Okay okay! But first!" She flew in a circle around Xin Yi’s head. "Let me just say—you’ve been doing GREAT! Really! I am very impressed! Really really impressed! And I don’t say that to everyone!"
"Impressed with WHAT?! I have been kidnapped! Attacked! Nearly drowned! TWICE!"
"Exactly!" Mán Shū beamed. "And you’re still ALIVE! That’s amazing! Most transmigrators don’t make it this far! Nobody has actually! I thought Lin Zhiying and Wang Xianmo would, but they failed."
"WHAT?!"
"Oops!" Mán Shū covered her mouth. "Probably shouldn’t have said that! Forget I mentioned it!"
"I CAN’T JUST FORGET—"
"Anyway!" The goddess clapped her tiny hands. "You want answers? I’ll give you answers! But you have to promise to listen to EVERYTHING I say! No interrupting! No screaming! No fainting!"
"I’m not going to faint—"
"Don’t be too sure because uou might!" Mán Shū’s expression went serious. Ancient. Terrifying. "Because what I’m about to tell you......it’s going to change EVERYTHING you thought you knew."
The whiteness around them began to shift.
To change.
To show.....something.
Images. Memories. History.
Xin Yi’s breath caught.
"What.....what is this?"
Mán Shū’s smile was a little sad now.
"This," she said softly, "is the truth about the Beast World. About transmigrators. About why YOU are here."
She floated closer, her golden eyes locked onto Xin Yi’s.
"About why I brought you here."
