Chapter 163: Jake’s Got It Bad

Jake could hardly eat his breakfast even though he loved it because he was paying too much attention to every move that Constantine made. Zach could see it was written in the sky—somebody was hooked totally.

"Well Jake, you got that meeting you need to attend to, and looks like we’re almost finished here eating. How about we have a late lunch? I got something planned—I’ll have your special meal prepared by someone very special."

"Zack, I don’t care what it is, as long as it’s prepared by someone very special over there, I’ll eat dirt."

Jake stood up and walked over to where Constantine was working. "Young man, thank you very much for the very delicious meal. I know it was a group effort, but I think you had your finger in a lot of it, and may I say that you are one beautiful young man. Don’t ever sell yourself short."

Constantine was in shock. He muttered the words thank you and smiled at the older human who had just paid him his first compliment. Yet he was a little bit older, but he still looked good, and since he was a friend of Mr. Zack’s, he figured he would be safe around him. No other Genmen on the ranch had ever told him he was beautiful, much less paid him any kind of compliment other than the occasional smile before they hightailed it away—they were terrified of so-called royal treatment by Mr. Zack’s decree.

Zack showed Jake exactly where Ed’s place was so he could have his meeting. Jake went to his meeting and Zack went back with Constantine.

Zach called Constantine out of the warehouse—they were going to have a walk and talk for a few minutes.

"I’m sorry, Mr. Zack. Whatever I did wrong, whatever the boys did wrong, I’ll make sure and correct it. We don’t want any problems here. We like living here and I like my jobs, but please don’t kick us off."

"Cool your jets, Constantine. You and the boys are just fine, but I did want to talk to you about a little bit of attention that you received today from my buddy Jake."

"You don’t have to worry about anything, Mr. Zack. I know nothing happens after my third cycle, and then we have to talk about who it would be or when it will be, but I’m not supposed to engage in any kind of physical bonding relationship or even courtship with anyone."

"Constantine, I already know that Jake is going to hit on you. Yes, he’s older and he’s human, but he has never taken a mate. He thinks you’re a beautiful young human—he has no idea that you’re truly a hybrid, and I did not tell him. If he makes his move on you, which I’m sure he will, that’s up to you to tell him in your own way. But remember, I do not want to see you swelled up until after your third cycle. Your body needs to mature in order to carry a child."

"Mr. Zack, what if your friend wants to get up in me and make a baby in me? He’s nice-looking and all, but I don’t want to raise the baby on my own. I’m raising my brothers on my own and that’s not how I want to raise a child of mine. If he thinks he’s going to hop on me and pump and dump, that is not going to happen—my vent is off limits. Yes, he’s good-looking and yes, he even paid me a compliment—first one I’ve ever had—but I’m not a Gen-Slut taking on every hard thing that wants to ram themselves into my vent."

"Well Constantine, I’ll tell you right now—he’s going to ask to take you out on a date off the ranch. Now you can go with him, I’ll give you permission to go, but when he starts up his little moves and everything, which I know he will, remember you are in control of who touches your body and no one else. And if he becomes insistent, slap the hell out of him and tell him that you’re not that kind of person. You go and go to the house and start on the lunch menu, and we will see you about 1 o’clock."

Jake had a very interesting meeting with Ed, and it was great catching up with Tim and seeing the boys that he had birthed. He also learned all about Constantine and his brothers—stuff that good old Zack had failed to tell him, but that was okay. He understood that Zach protected his special cases. That made Jake want to get to know Constantine even more now—he could actually conceive a child with someone that he was very attracted to.

Like clockwork, Jake showed up at Constantine’s place and there was Zach waiting on him, straight up 1 PM. The two chitchatted for a minute before Zach knocked on the door. Eli opened the door and invited the two gentlemen in. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"It’ll be just a minute, Mr. Zack. He’s getting our plates from the kitchen and he will have yours out in a minute, here in the main dining area."

Jake was the first one to speak up. "That is not going to happen. Everyone will be seated out here just like a real family, guests and all. So, go back in there and tell Constantine to get your plates up here so we can all eat together. I want to get to know all of you Freemans."

"Yes sir, I’ll sure tell him and we will be right back to eat like a real family should, as you said, Mr. Jake." Eli smiled.

Constantine came out of the kitchen with a strange look on his face. "Am I to understand, as Eli says, we’re to eat out here with you two?"

"You understand totally correct, Constantine. If you’re going to go through this trouble to cook a very delicious looking meal, I might as well be able to enjoy it with you and your family’s company, as Zach should also. Besides, how am I going to get to know you if we least we cannot talk? And if we cannot talk, I definitely cannot ask you out for a milkshake later on this afternoon," Jake replied.

"Damn Constantine, milkshake and a trip off the ranch—you better tag this one as your personal property!" Eli popped off.

Constantine turned red in the face. "That’s enough, Eli. You’re to watch your language and your comments."

Constantine was holding young Rusty when Jake stood up and took the child from him, then returned to his seat and sat the child on his left leg. "Now Mr. Rusty, we are going to get to know each other very well over our lunch, so let’s dig into it."

Rusty hugged up on Jake like he had known him all of his life. He let the man feed him, wipe his face, and for once in his life was a perfect little angel and didn’t throw food at everybody.

"If Rusty likes you, I know he’s a good person. So what if he’s a little older and maybe even a little bit of a player in his younger years—he still got a lot of fire in that furnace," Eli leaned over to his brother Constantine.
