Chapter 22: Something To Tell You

The wedding reception was held in the hotel garden. One beautiful thing about Gardenia Castle was its beautiful garden, and for the first time since it was built, it was used as a wedding reception. Since it was getting late, those who wished to spend the night were allowed to because the entire hotel had already been paid for.

"Are you sad that your parents aren’t here?" Zach asked as they danced under the moonlight. After this dance, he planned to call it a night for the both of them, especially because he knew Eliana needed rest.

Eliana shook her head and said "I’m too happy to be sad. Thank you for today, I thought it really wouldn’t work out because it was kind of rushed, but everything is amazing. Far better than I ever dreamed of."

"I’m glad to have exceeded your expectations," Zach said with a slight smirk.

"Zach. I love you."

Zach suddenly stopped dancing when he heard her confession "You..... you have never said it."

"Because I always thought you only loved my body and not me."

"Remember the first time met?"

"When I was twelve and drowning?"

Zach chuckled and replied, "No when you were nineteen and had the guts to drug me."

"Oh. Are you still angry about that?"

"I was pissed about it at first but damn Eli, I couldn’t stop craving you like a drug. I kept remembering your scent and how you tasted, and before I realized what I was doing, I was tracking you down like a madman."

"That sounds like the perfect love story to tell our kid," Eliana said with a smile.

Zach laughed and continued, "One year became two years, and you slowly became my comfort zone. I felt relaxed whenever I was with you, and slowly, we started spending weekends together, and you somehow always convinced me to do crazy things with you, and I started caring and loving."

"Then why did you still insist on getting married to Amber?" Eliana asked

"About that, there is something I need to tell you."

"There is also something I need to tell you," Eliana said, a little nervous about how he would take her confession about her not being the adopted child of the Moores.

"Sorry for the interruption but your annoying assistant kept insisting there is something he wants to tell you." Ryan interrupted with a charming smile on his face.

Zach looked at Ethan and sighed, "Take care of her, I will be right back."

Ryan nodded and asked Eliana "Ready to get off the dance floor?"

Eliana nodded and followed him to a corner. "There are so many beautiful girls here, and yet you haven’t asked any for a dance."

"Why should I?" Ryan asked as they collected two glasses of champagne from the waiter passing.

Eliana looked at the two glasses in his hand and said "I can’t drink."

"I know, they are for me. Parties aren’t my thing." Ryan replied, drinking the two glasses of champagne within seconds.

"Are you all right?" Eliana asked, suddenly feeling concerned for her brother-in-law.

"I’m fine, don’t worry. I am curious, however on what you wanted to tell my brother."

"Oh."

"Is it something that would break his heart?" Ryan asked looking at Eliana and observing her reaction to his words.

"I hope not," Eliana replied truly hoping Zach won’t get angry at her for not telling him the truth.

"Then tell me, what is it you wanted to tell Zach?" Ryan asked.

Should she tell Ryan first? Perhaps that won’t be a bad idea, maybe Ryan could tell her if telling Zach the truth will make him get angry or not.

Charlotte, who was busy talking to the Mayor and the president’s wife, glanced at Ryan and frowned when she saw him smiling with Eliana. Why was he smiling? What could they be talking about?

"It seems your daughter-in-law does get along with the brother-in-law." Jasmine, the wife of the president spoke out.

"Well, isn’t that a good thing, but I do wonder if the rumors surrounding your daughter-in-law are true?" Julia, the Mayor’s wife asked.

Charlotte focused her attention back on the two women and asked with a smile, "What rumors are those?"

Julia looked around before saying in a low voice, "I heard your daughter-in-law stole her sister’s fiancee. I mean how could Zach fall in love with such a seductress?"

"Isn’t that better than him falling in love with a woman twice his age? Oh, forgive me. I only heard about it, but then again, it could also just be rumors, right? But now I am quite curious, are the rumors about your son true? How could he have an affair with a woman twice his age?" Charlotte asked with a smile.

Jasmine let out a laugh but quickly maintained her composure.

Julia, on the other hand, forced a smile as she answered "You said it yourself, they are just rumors met to tarnish my son’s name. I’m sure the rumors about your daughter-in-law are also false."

Charlotte only smiled and excused herself from the two women.

"I can’t stand her, she is so full of herself," Julia said as Charlotte walked away from them.

Jasmine laughed softly and said "If I was her, I would also be full of myself. Not only is she running a billion dollars foundation but her two sons are doing incredibly well. Do you have any idea how much it took for Zachary to rent out this entire hostel?"

"How much?" Julia asked curiously.

"I heard it cost half a billion dollars, and the wedding gown Eliana is putting on is the only piece in the entire world. Zach probably spent up to a billion or more for just this wedding." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"So what if her son is rich, my son is also wealthy, and my husband is the Mayor of Rosehill City? She should be bowing down her head whenever she sees me," Julia said angrily.

Jasmine sighed and said "Julia, don’t forget that Charlotte is the only reason you are the Mayor’s wife. My husband is the president, and your husband is the Mayor, we are both married to the most powerful men in the city and country, but yet even these powerful men are at the mercy of the Sanders."

Julia frowned as she asked, "What do you mean by that?"

"My husband is a brave man, but for some reason, he is terrified of Ryan."

"Ryan Sanders? He is just a twenty-one-year-old man."

Jasmine shook her head and walked closer to Julia as she whispered, "I once overheard my husband saying that Ryan Sanders is not what he seems. That twenty-one-year-old is a crazy man who hides his craziness in his charming smile. A word of advice, Julia, don’t make an enemy out of the Sanders, it is a war you cannot fight and will not win."
