Her Dark Desires-Chapter 38: Not His First Kill
After an exhausting, passionate activity, Amber fell asleep for a while, and when she woke up, she saw Mason already getting dressed.
"You are leaving?" Amber asked.
Mason smirked and teased, "Why? You don’t want me to go?"
Amber rolled her eyes and got off the bed wearing her clothes as well as she said "I can’t believe I fell asleep."
"With the way you were screaming for more, it would have been a wonder if you weren’t exhausted," Mason replied with a smile.
"Stop your nonsense and tell me if your errand boy has done the job. Has he killed her?" Amber asked.
"Always so impatient," Mason muttered as he checked his phone to see if Jeremy had left him a message, but there was none. He then decided to call him, but his phone was switched off. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"What’s wrong?" Amber asked as she saw the frown on his face. "Is she dead or not?"
"Jeremy’s phone is switched off," Mason said.
"And what does that mean?"
"Calm down. I told him to kill her and knowing Jeremy, I’m sure he has already done the job." Mason said
"That better be the case, Mason, because if you mess this up, only you will take the fall for it. I’m leaving." Amber said and put on her face mask before leaving.
Mason sighed and whispered to himself, "Why did that bastard switch off his phone? I have to go there myself."
....
Zach held Eliana’s hand as she was rushed to the emergency room, but he was not allowed inside and was asked to stay aside.
"Save her. Please save her and our baby." Zach pleaded with tears in his eyes. For the first time in his life, he felt powerless, and the only thing he could do was wait for the doctor’s verdict.
"Zach." Charlotte, who just arrived at the hospital, called out. Ryan had called her to inform her what was happening and the hospital they were probably going to be at.
"Mom." Zach softly called out and rushed to hug his mother.
"My baby boy. She is going to be all right, I promise. " Charlotte said. Zachary has always been strong, and seeing him like this did nothing but shatter her heart.
"There was so much blood, so much blood that I’m afraid little treasure....." He couldn’t complete his sentence. No, he must stay positive. He must believe that both Eliana and his little treasure were going to be all right.
Half an hour later, the doctor came out of the ER and removed his mask. He looked at Zach and Charlotte as he said , "Your wife is all right. We have cleaned her wounds, and once the anesthesia wears off, she will be awake, but unfortunately, we could not save the child. I’m so sorry for your loss."
"Thank you for your effort. Please transfer her to the best ward in the hospital." Charlotte said as she realized Zachary was not going to say anything.
The doctor nodded and left.
Charlotte looked at her son and said "Zach...."
"I want to be alone," Zach said calmly. He turned to leave the hospital without saying a word to anyone.
Charlotte’s heart broke as she saw him leave; she closed her eyes with a sigh as a tear rolled down her cheek.
...
"Do you know who he is?" Zachary coldly asked his brother as he rolled up his sleeves walking into a basement.
"A forty-year-old loser who claimed he did it to send his children to the best school," Ryan said. He had received a message from his mother saying that Eliana had lost the child and begged him to be there for his brother.
It didn’t take long for him to track down the cab driver who had taken Eliana from the airport and brought him here to be questioned since taking him to the police station would just delay things. However, what he did not expect was for Zach to collect his gun from his hand and point it at the man who had already peed in his pants.
"Who paid you to kidnap my wife?" Zach asked coldly.
The cab driver, who was tied to a chair, shook his head and said, "Nobody paid me, I promise. I only kidnapped her because she was looking rich and ..."
BANG!.
The sound of a gunshot was heard and a scream immediately followed.
The cab driver looked at his leg that had been shot and began pleading, "Please don’t kill me. I have two little daughters who need me, and I swear I only did it because I needed the money. I never knew she was someone not to mess with. Please, spare my life."
"Give me names. Who paid you?"
The cab driver swallow and immediately started spilling the true "His name is Mason."
"Last name?" Zach asked coldly.
"I don’t know his last name, I swear it. I only know his name is Mason, that’s all I know. Please spare my life." The man cried desperately.
Zach looked at him silently and slowly lowered his hand. After a while, he said, "You said you have two daughters."
Thinking he had touched a soft spot in Zach, the cab driver nodded and said, "Yes, I have two little daughters, and I only did what I did for them, I swear it."
"Their father has done so much for them and I feel so touched. I should also do something for them."
"What?"
"Today, I will be doing them a favor by getting rid of a scum like you," Zach said and shot him in the forehead.
There was no expression on Ryan’s face as he watched his brother’s action.
Zach gave Ryan back the gun and ordered "Get rid of this mess."
Ryan nodded at Colt, who had been standing silently, and followed his brother outside.
Colt looked at the body and thought of various ways to get rid of it. He has been following Ryan for years but only knew a thing or two about his brother and even though he was a soldier, he felt chills down his spine when Zachary shot the man without blinking an eye. That was not his first kill, and tonight made him curious about who Zachary Sanders was behind that suit and business smile.
