Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 258: From Heroes to Info Dumps
Chapter 258: From Heroes to Info Dumps
Zain leaned against the wall of the alleyway, arms crossed.
Velra stood near the entrance, keeping watch.
Starjack blinked slowly as the system’s influence settled into his mind.
His posture was loose, like someone in a trance.
Ironstride sat on the ground, his eyes dazed but focused.
"Talk," Zain said. "Start from the basics."
Starjack nodded.
"There are dozens of heroes in this district. Some stronger than us."
"Most stay closer to the central plaza."
"Names?" Zain asked.
Ironstride listed a few. "Raen Voss. Mira Quell. Caldon the Beamblade."
"They mostly rotate through day patrols."
Zain waved a hand. "Enough."
"I don’t need faces right now."
"What I want is layout. Sector data. Give me something useful."
Starjack blinked again. "This district is Ether Haven," he said.
"It’s the civilian zone. Family housing, clinics, tech centers, trade points... no heavy combat is allowed here."
"Like Velra said," Zain muttered. "A peaceful front for a war machine."
Ironstride nodded. "The people here believe they’re safe. They are, usually."
"No one dares start a fight in Ether Haven. Not unless they want to answer to the Apex Guardian."
Zain’s eyes narrowed. "The leader of this whole place?"
"Yes," Ironstride said. "No one sees him. But he’s watching." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Zain didn’t answer. He looked down at his own hand, opening and closing it slowly.
"Keep going," he said.
Starjack shifted, adjusting his back against the wall.
"Southwest of here is the Hero Forge District. That’s where training happens."
"Training?" Zain raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Starjack said. "New recruits, elite drills, simulations."
"They train there using all kinds of setups. Close-range, aerial, group formations. Even multizone crisis drills."
Velra stepped closer. "How many people are stationed there?"
"Hard to say," Ironstride said.
"Maybe a few hundred on active rotation. Not all are elites, but many are stronger than us."
Zain tilted his head. "Anyone patrol from there?"
"Sometimes," Starjack said.
"They send people to test them in real conditions. Especially those close to promotion."
Zain tapped the wall behind him twice. "And what’s the last sector?"
Both heroes went quiet for a moment. Then Ironstride answered.
"Sentinel Core."
Zain looked up. "That sounds more important."
"It is," Ironstride said.
"That’s where the command center is."
"Battle plans, emergency controls, surveillance tech. They watch the whole Dominion from there."
Zain smirked. "So that’s the brain."
Velra folded her arms. "How’s the security?"
"Extreme," Starjack said.
"No entry without high-level access. Even we’re not allowed near the gates."
Zain gave a slow nod. "Good to know."
He stepped back, glancing at both heroes.
"Thanks for the information," he said. "Now... sleep."
He raised one hand.

Both heroes twitched as the system activated again.
Their eyes rolled back slightly. Their bodies froze.
A few seconds later, they slumped forward like puppets with cut strings.

Zain looked at them for a moment, making sure the system’s work was clean.
"Perfect," he muttered.
He turned to Velra. "Put them somewhere. Don’t let anyone see."
Velra nodded and walked over.
She picked up both heroes effortlessly, one on each shoulder.
With quiet steps, she carried them out of the alley.
A few moments later, she returned, brushing off her hands.
"Dropped them behind the medical station. Someone will find them eventually."
"Good," Zain said.
Velra tilted her head. "So, Master... now that we have what we need, what’s next?"
Zain looked up in the direction of the inner district.
The city shimmered with clean towers and glass bridges.
A bright banner with the Hero Association’s logo hung from a nearby hover-drone, drifting above the street.
"We move," he said. "Hero Forge District."
Velra raised an eyebrow. "The training sector?"
Zain nodded. "Savra brought Zelia to A-Zone for training."
"I don’t know if she’s there now... but it’s our best lead."
Velra smirked. "Perfect. I’ve been itching to stretch my legs and break someone."
Zain chuckled softly. "Let’s walk for now. No need to draw attention."
They stepped out of the alley and blended into the foot traffic.
Civilians passed by, unaware. Patrol drones scanned quietly overhead.
Zain’s eyes were sharp, always watching.
This was just the beginning. The pieces were set.
He reached into his coat and pulled out a single red token.
He turned it in his fingers.
"The next sector," he said quietly, "might be harder."
Velra grinned. "Even better."
They walked side by side, disappearing into the flow of Skyreach Dominion.
---
Starjack blinked as his eyes opened. The ceiling was bright white. He sat up fast.
"What the—where the hell am I?"
Ironstride groaned next to him, holding his head. "Hospital? How...?"
They both looked around. Clean walls. Medical machines. No signs of a battlefield.
"I remember fighting the mutants," Starjack muttered.
"Five of them. Real nasty."
Ironstride nodded slowly.
"Same. Then... nothing. I blacked out. Next thing I know, I’m here."
Just then, the door opened. Two men in black suits stepped in.
No capes, no smiles. Serious types.
They both wore pins with the Hero Association’s symbol.
One of them spoke. "Ironstride. Starjack. We’re Sentinel Core operatives."
They pulled up a hologram of the city alley.
"You two were last seen here. Reports say you fought off five mutants. No civilian deaths. Good work."
Starjack smirked. "You’re welcome."
"But," the man continued, "there’s a problem. No bodies. No remains. No traces."
Ironstride frowned. "We... don’t know. We remember fighting, and then... it’s just blank."
Starjack nodded. "Yeah, same here. We didn’t fake anything. We woke up here."
The other operative tapped his tablet.
"Medical scans confirmed memory gaps. Brain waves show forced disruption."
"No signs of lying. No drugs or mental tampering detected."
The two agents looked at each other and nodded.
"Alright. You’re clear," one said.
"Stay available. If anything comes back to you, report immediately."
"Of course," Ironstride said.
Starjack waved a hand. "If I remember anything, you’ll be the first to know."
The agents left without another word.
The door closed.
Starjack leaned back and sighed. "Man... I hate feeling like I missed the good part."
Ironstride stared at the wall. "Something’s wrong. We didn’t just collapse for no reason."
Neither said it aloud, but both knew: this wasn’t over.
