Heroic Spirit Deck in Yu-Gi-Oh!-Chapter 301 -
Chapter 301: Chapter 301
"I activate the effect of [Necro Gardna] from my Graveyard! By banishing it, I can nullify one attack this turn!"
[Seto Kaiba LP: 1100]
Kaiba barely managed to block the lethal flames, staggering back into position before he could be blown away. His voice remained steady, filled with absolute resolve. "I will never lose to someone who couldn't even protect their own brother."
Always one to strike where it hurt the most, Kaiba's words cut deep, mercilessly targeting Alister's deepest pain.
Alister clenched his teeth so hard it seemed they might crack. "You barely managed to block one attack, with no monsters on your field, and you still dare to talk big?"
"That's the difference between us—we're on entirely different levels!" Kaiba interrupted, drawing a card from his Duel Disk. "This duel ends here and now, with me and my Blue-Eyes White Dragon securing victory!"
"He... He's forcing the turn to end?!"
Hoshino pressed her face against the helicopter window, eyes wide with anticipation. She needed to see how this duel would unfold. If Kaiba truly could turn things around, then teaming up with him later to take down Doma and reclaim Yugi's soul might actually be possible.
"From my hand, I activate [Card of Demise]! This lets me draw until I have five cards!"
Step one of the comeback: card draw mastery.
With nothing left on his field or in his hand, Kaiba dramatically activated the game-changing spell.
After replenishing his hand with five new cards, his smirk grew more confident. "Next, I activate the Quick-Play Spell [Silver's Cry]! This lets me target one Normal Dragon-Type monster in my Graveyard and Special Summon it!"
A deafening roar echoed through the sky as the Blue-Eyes White Dragon materialized atop the plane, its massive form making the passenger aircraft seem like a mere toy.
"The monster I summon is, of course, my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
[Blue-Eyes White Dragon ATK: 3000]
Hoshino muttered under her breath, "This guy... It's been just a few days since I last saw him, and he's already figured out a new way to summon his Blue-Eyes. Seriously, who's really printing these cards? Pegasus or him?"
Alister sneered coldly. "Your Blue-Eyes White Dragon may be powerful, but it's still no match for my Fire King High Avatar Garunix, empowered by the Orichalcos!"
[Fire King High Avatar Garunix ATK: 3200]
"Is that so? Then what if I add this card to the mix?" Kaiba revealed two more cards from his hand. The Seal of Orichalcos flickered ominously, as if sensing the power about to be unleashed.
"[The Fang of Critias]! Combined with the Trap Card [Tyrant Wing]! I fuse these two cards to awaken the true power that lies within!"
As the Seal trembled, a new dragon descended onto the battlefield, merging with the Tyrant Wing to form a powerful new entity.
"—Special Summon! [Tyrant Burst Dragon]!"
A majestic dragon with radiant golden wings materialized, its aura overwhelming.
[Tyrant Burst Dragon★★★★★★★★ (Level 8)][LIGHT][Dragon/Fusion/Effect][ATK 2900/DEF 2500]
"So this is a Legendary Dragon, huh? My first time seeing one up close~" Hoshino, captivated by its form and incredible effect, couldn't tear her eyes away.
Despite momentarily being awestruck, Alister remained defiant. "Even if it's a Legendary Dragon, its Attack Points still don't surpass my Garunix!"
"I already told you, I'll use my Blue-Eyes to shatter your childish revenge!" Kaiba declared, pointing dramatically. "Tyrant Burst Dragon's effect allows it to equip itself to a Dragon on my field, increasing its Attack Points by 400!"
Both dragons roared in unison, their sheer presence overwhelming Alister's flaming beasts. Tyrant Burst Dragon transformed into an enormous pair of wings, equipping itself onto the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
[Blue-Eyes White Dragon ATK: 3000 → 3400]
"Now my Blue-Eyes surpasses your monster!"
The Blue-Eyes, now empowered by Tyrant Burst Wings, dominated the battlefield, its size and power eclipsing the flames below.
"Attack, Blue-Eyes! Deliver the decisive blow!" Kaiba commanded.
"—Tyrant Burst Stream of Destruction!"
A devastating energy blast obliterated Garunix, consuming it in blinding white light.
"Futile, Kaiba! Even if Garunix is destroyed, it will revive and summon another Fire King from my Deck! My Life Points are still far from depleted!"
Alister was confident his monster's cycle of resurrection would stall Kaiba out.
"Hmph!" Kaiba sneered, his coat flaring dramatically in the wind. "Who said I destroyed your Garunix? If it's going to revive endlessly, I might as well leave it stuck on the field forever!"
"What?!"

As the light faded, Garunix remained, battered but undestroyed.
Kaiba revealed two cards. "I activate the Equip Spell [Mist Body]! The equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle! And I also activate the Quick-Play Spell [Shrink]! This halves the Attack Points of one monster!"
[Fire King High Avatar Garunix ATK: 3200 → 1600]
"Even if it can't be destroyed, battle damage is still calculated! Now your monster is stuck on the field, serving as the perfect target for my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
[Alister LP: 4000 → 2200]
"I'll make your Garunix truly 'undying'! But eternal life comes with eternal pain!" Kaiba taunted.
With his Blue-Eyes still radiating power, Kaiba continued. "Tyrant Burst Dragon's special ability allows the equipped monster to attack three times during the same Battle Phase!"
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Launch your second attack! Tyrant Burst Stream of Destruction!!"
[Alister LP: 2200 → 400]
"Once more! Tyrant Burst Stream of Destruction!"
[Alister LP: 400 → 0]
The duel ended in a spectacular display of power.
[Duel Winner: Seto Kaiba]
"So, he actually managed to turn the tables? Are the effects of these Legendary Dragons really that overpowered?"
Seeing the Legendary Dragon's effect for the first time, Hoshino was completely stunned. If you could just draw a random card and fuse it with The Fang of Critias to create something so powerful, then forget the Orichalcos barrier—even the three Egyptian God Cards might not stand a chance.
"Damn it, I want to be a chosen Duelist too!" Thinking this, Hoshino hugged Lemon and gave it a couple of licks for comfort.
The collapsing Seal of Orichalcos constricted around Alister's body, just as it had when Yugi lost his duel against Rafael. Even as its wielder, Alister's soul was now doomed to be sealed within the Orichalcos.
Wait, the Seal is gone, but they're still standing on top of the plane! Is this really okay?!
Valon and Rafael exchanged a tense glance. "This is bad. I can't believe Alister actually lost. It's a good thing we came to check things out."
Kaiba, as indifferent as ever to the fate of a sealed soul, turned his back on the duel without a second thought after securing victory.
"Hmph, Kaiba. Do you really think you'll walk away from here alive, even after winning this duel?" With the last shred of his consciousness, Alister sneered at Kaiba's back.
Honestly? I doubt it. Hoshino certainly couldn't see any way for Kaiba to get off the top of the plane safely.
Boom!
A sudden explosion—one with enough force to feel utterly real—shook the plane violently. It wasn't a mere duel effect. The shockwave nearly sent Kaiba plummeting thousands of meters through the sky.
"I've finally avenged you, brother..." Alister muttered, discarding his Orichalcos Duel Disk. His eyes, now devoid of light, marked the sealing of his soul.
From their helicopter, the trio of Valon, Rafael, and Hoshino saw smoke billowing from the airplane cabin. It dawned on them that Alister's so-called resolve hadn't been mere talk.
"He never intended to come back alive, did he?!"
The pre-set explosives ensured that, win or lose, both Alister and Kaiba would perish together in this sky-high duel. The unexpected development left Hoshino and the others completely unprepared.
And no one was more caught off guard than Kaiba, who struggled to maintain his balance on the violently shaking plane.
"Damn it! If you want to die, don't drag others into it!" Kaiba gritted his teeth, but even he had no immediate solution.
"That fool acted on his own!" Rafael growled, visibly angered. "Even if his soul is sealed, destroying his body too means there's no way to bring him back!"
As Rafael had previously said, despite their use of dark powers, the bond among Doma was as real as family. Watching a comrade sacrifice himself was not something he could accept.
"What do we do, Rafael? You're the one with the invincible Card Spirits! Think of something!" Valon exclaimed anxiously.
But Rafael was just as helpless as Kaiba. Even with the power of Cards, stopping an entire falling airplane was beyond their capabilities.
"Roarrr!"
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon, still equipped with the Tyrant Burst Wings, let out a deafening roar. Even though the duel had ended, the dragon, seemingly possessing a will of its own, began to act.
"Blue-Eyes... you...!" Kaiba's eyes widened in shock as he watched his dragon desperately grip the wing of the plane, trying to hold it steady.
"How is this even possible? This doesn't make sense..."
"Kaiba, is now really the time to talk about science?!" Hoshino yelled, completely exasperated as she opened the helicopter door.
"Hoshino? What are you doing here?" Kaiba asked, looking up at the windswept figure of the girl, her hair whipping wildly in the high-altitude breeze.
Even Valon was startled by her sudden action. "Hey, Hoshino, what are you doing? Don't fall out!"
"The Blue-Eyes' strength is too focused—it'll crush the plane!" Rafael shouted, observing how the dragon's claws were digging into the wing, threatening to tear it apart.
"That's why I'm coming up with a solution!" Hoshino yelled back, activating her own Duel Disk. The energy from her cards began to resonate with the Tyrant-equipped Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
"Summon—Enkidu, Goldy!"
Slamming two cards onto her Duel Disk, Hoshino materialized two glowing figures—one green, one golden—beside her in mid-air.
"Mongrel! How many times must I tell you not to call me that?!"
"Master, I and Gilgamesh have arrived at your command," the green-haired Enkidu said, smiling calmly as always.
"Enkidu, you're such a natural at this! Look, you've already made Gilgamesh turn as green as your hair!" Hoshino teased with a laugh.
Enkidu's smile twitched, and he replied, "Master, you're just as much a natural at provoking him, you know."
"You really can summon Card Spirits..." Rafael muttered, no longer even surprised as he watched Hoshino's new allies appear.
Gilgamesh crossed his arms and turned his crimson gaze away disdainfully. "Is this really the time for idle banter? If we don't act now, there won't be anything left to save."
"Goldy and Enkidu! I'm counting on you!"
"Stop calling me that, mongrel!" Despite his anger, Gilgamesh allowed himself to be pulled into action by Enkidu's calm demeanor.
"Let's go, Gil! You know what to do!"
"Of course! Such a trivial task could never trouble the King!"
As they fell through the air, Enkidu and Gilgamesh exchanged a brief glance of understanding before unleashing their magic.
Chains shot forth from the heavens, intertwining in a dazzling web of metal. The sound of clashing links rang out as the chains locked onto the airplane's frame and connected to the Tyrant-equipped Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
"So that's their plan—to harness the Blue-Eyes' power to hold the plane aloft!" Valon realized, his eyes lighting up in understanding.
With the Blue-Eyes' immense strength now redirected through the chains, the plane's descent slowed significantly.
"—Hoshino!" Kaiba shouted, regaining his composure as he realized the situation. The chains extended upward, stabilizing the plane and giving him a brief moment of relief.
Seeing the falling plane finally stop, Hoshino pushed off the helicopter with both feet, leaping into the air. "Goldy, catch me!"
Sorry, but I'm switching to the other side now!
