High School of Demon Hunting-Chapter 1604 - 348 Amber Shatter
Chapter 1604: Chapter 348 Amber Shatter
After sensing a threat from the timeline, the Black Mountain Goat left Beta Town. Instead of retreating to the depths of the Silent Forest as initially planned, it followed an instinct from the old days, traveled up the Silent River, found a vulnerability in the First University’s Guardian Array, and infiltrated the institution’s Lin Zhong Lake.
Fortunately or unfortunately, shortly after entering the lake, the Black Mountain Goat saw a Green Vine sprouting from the lake water, rooting itself between illusion and reality, connecting the two worlds.
Fortunately, the moment it saw the Green Vine, the Black Mountain Goat knew what to do—follow the path opened by the Green Vine, and reverse into the Dreamland to evade the pursuit from the timeline.
Unfortunately, a little Female Demon emerged from the Green Vine, drawing the focal attention of the School Guardian Array.
Originally a ’stowaway,’ the Black Mountain Goat nearly got exposed under the immense pressure of the Guardian Array. Fortunately, the array’s focus was on the Female Demon, and since the bottom of Lin Zhong Lake belonged to the Fishman Tribe with limited ’autonomy,’ the unauthorized Guardian Array did not excessively search the entire lake.
This meant that if the Black Mountain Goat wanted to enter the Dreamland, it had to find a way from the Green Vine within the lake.
This was not easy.
The underwater Green Vine hid among light and shadows. The Black Mountain Goat lowered its head, trying to bite the leaves of the Vine to capture a whiff of its aura to enter the Dreamland. But when its lips and teeth fell on the Vine leaves, it only bit into cold lake water. Meanwhile, dark red flames around it burned fiercely, and the giant hand formed by shadows on the flames grabbed everywhere but failed to grasp the Green Vine.
However, due to many fishmen gathering around, there was an unexpected gain of some followers—even though, for the Mother of the Mountain Goat of the Forest, which births countless offspring, those followers were dispensable, their prayers could add some power to it at that moment.
At this moment, for some reason, an Old Fishman at the lake bottom rushed up to fight it desperately.
The Fishman was already very old, completely snow-white, and in the water, gaining an environmental advantage. Just by the momentum of its rush, it was already touching the edge of the Great Wizard Rank.
The Black Mountain Goat did not want to cause too much commotion.
So, it tilted its head, used the intact and sharp horn to aim at the blue light mass charging toward it, and lightly flicked it, a streak of light flashed by.
Pop.
As if a bubble was pierced, the light mass instantly shattered into a bunch of dense light points. The water waves at the lake bottom surged and receded, and those light points disappeared into the endless darkness in the blink of an eye.
The entire process was extremely short.
All along, the Black Mountain Goat did not pay attention to why the Old Fishman had gone mad and rushed over. He didn’t care about the numerous followers strangled by the Fishman, nor noticed the frantically fleeing figures in the distant Fishman Tribe.
The Old Fishman thus disappeared quietly in the undercurrent at the lake bottom.
Its long and thin magic wand twirled in the water, slowly descending, and eventually sank into the lakebed silt.
The Black Mountain Goat retracted its gaze, started examining the Green Vine situated between illusion and reality, contemplating how to enter the vine. Yet, before it could attempt a new method, it suddenly sensed a swift current underfoot, striking directly where its heart and belly resided. The Black Mountain Goat swiftly retreated, dodging the current, only to see a withered yellow vine, akin to a long spear, break through layers of water curtains and impale toward it.
One spear followed another, piercing the cold lake water with a series of dense bubbles.
The Black Mountain Goat avoided several times before realizing that the Withered Yellow Spear was the magic wand dropped into the lakebed silt by the Old Fishman after its death.
It lowered its head, looking toward the area where the magic wand had fallen.
Flames of dark red ignited, instantly illuminating the entire lakebed, like a vast array of blooming Other Shore Flowers. The magic wand lay right in the center of the floral cluster.
Then it took one more look at the wand, confirming it had completely turned to ashes amidst the ’flowers.’
Just as the last bit of yellow disappeared in the flames, the Black Mountain Goat suddenly realized something, quickly raised its head, and followed the winding shape of the Green Vine, looking toward the water surface.
The series of water bubbles pierced by the Withered Yellow Spear had just then floated up to the water surface.
Pop.
Pop pop pop.
One, two, three, a series of dense bubbles burst on the water surface, and the aura of the Old Fishman and the Black Mountain Goat wrapped inside the bubbles dispersed into the golden ’Sun’ half-suspended in the air.
Buzz!!
The School Guardian Array detected a new, higher-status, and more dangerous Outer God aura. It abruptly shuddered, raising the risk level once again. Lines of semi-transparent golden talismans hovered in midair, poised to be dispatched, merely waiting for the Guardian Array to confirm the new target.
Simultaneously, the radiant golden light spread thicker over the lake, forming a heavy barrier, firmly sealing the Green Vine’s connection between the two worlds.
The Black Mountain Goat’s deep gaze wandered amidst the gold.
It realized that in order to immediately follow the Green Vine to leave the school, it had to shatter the cages forged by the golden light. The dark red flames spread across the lake bottom, violently dancing, while intense shadows swayed madly above the flames, as if countless souls were dancing in prayer on the fire.
The Starry Sky and reality interchanged in the prayer.
Massive amounts of information flowed through the Black Mountain Goat’s eyes, and a sliver of comprehension emerged in its heart.
Then it raised its head again, looking through the wavering water surface toward the dense golden light in the air and the three ’Ambers’ tightly bound beneath the gilded glow.
It realized that the half-suspended golden ’Sun’ in the sky was the source of all bindings, and those three Ambers were the key to breaking free.
Before it could summon powers from the deeps of the Starry Sky, utilizing the forces within the Ambers was the only way.
With this in mind, it lowered its head, nudged the rippling water beneath its hooves, revealing the horn melted by searing flames drooping by its ear, with dark red muscles and intertwined blood vessels on the goat face slowly bulging.
Threads of dense black slowly dripped from bubble-like holes on the horn resembling basalt, gathering at the tip of the horn.
"NIGGURATH!"
The Black Mountain Goat softly chanted, for the first time uttering that ancient and powerful name.
"Whoosh!"
Three slender, needle-like, inky black beams pierced the heavy lake water and the dense golden light, striking the three Ambers suspended in midair.
Crack crack...
A small yet crisp shattering sound reverberated slowly in midair.
The sound was low, yet it clearly echoed across the entire Lin Zhong Lake, resounding in the ears of every wizard beside the lake.
"Eh?!"
A puzzled yet unfamiliar childlike voice seemed to resonate in the heart of every wizard. But at the moment, no one cared who made this sound, as the moment the three black beams pierced the Amber, the school’s Guardian Array immediately retracted all the golden light above the lake, like a miser diving into a treasury.
The three figures bound by the Guardian Array were then exposed to the sights of all the wizards around the lake.
