Chapter 1678: Chapter 422: 3 Hunts

"Bang!"

Lady Shi Hui’s magic did not land as intended on the three Great Demons. A snake tail covered in dark green hexagonal scales suddenly shot out from the Mist Ship’s cabin, gently colliding with the witch’s pale hand.

The forces of both sides retracted with a touch, but still stirred a massive surge of magical fluctuations, spreading to all directions.

It was as if a fierce wind swept across a burning field; the magical fluctuations made the flames within the Keiform Flight Land even more frantic and violent, the fire almost licking the Mist Ship’s side.

But soon, at the tail end of the fierce wind, a mysterious drizzle emerged silently, with raindrops delicate like spring rain, yet the rain’s intensity surpassed the torrential downpours of midsummer.

...

"This is the power of a Legend."

Professor Yao had not officially entered the field, so he saw this scene in its entirety. Extending his arm, he opened his hand to feel the familiar, subtle chill in the air, exhaling lightly: "...Every action is manipulating a dimension woven into Law; every breath contains the principle of one’s Dao. It’s truly an admirable realm."

"If you wish... hiss hiss... you can perceive it every moment... I can even grant you a drop of true blood... hiss... real, Legendary Peak true blood..."

Accompanied by the subtle chill, a cold thought coiled around Professor Yao’s wrist like being licked by a snake’s tongue. Even as experienced as Professor Yao, his back chilled, feeling somewhat creepy.

Yet the words conveyed by that thought were full of temptation, like the venomous snake in the Garden of Eden beguiling Eve to eat the apple:

"... hiss hiss... I can sense you are just one step away from that realm... Come back, Three Hunts... The hypocrites at the First University fear your breakthrough... The rules and regulations set by those old relics are just to maintain their despicable advantage... Come back, Three Hunts, for slaughter, for deliciousness, and for the pleasure of breaking through everything..."

The dark red in Professor Yao’s eyes flickered, his outstretched arm’s wide sleeve suddenly shattered, transforming into pieces of dark red butterflies, fluttering down slowly.

On his withered arm, veins bulged out, pulling his five fingers closer, grasping tightly, seemingly clutching mere air, but this action equaled holding a small world.

Puff.

A faint cracking sound seemed to echo by the ear, and the cold aura entwining Professor Yao dissipated into nothingness with this sound.

He let out a gentle breath, slowly lowered his arm, the exposed arm gave him a slightly flippant appearance, yet the professor’s unpredictable expression banished the flippancy entirely, adding a touch of mystery.

"You know nothing about breakthroughs!"

A fierce face appeared first, gritting its teeth: "A drop of true blood? You must be craving this one’s body!"

Soon, the ferocity vanished, replaced by a merciful and peaceful expression, bowing the head, murmuring softly: "All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion... a dream, an illusion... my way is not of conditioned phenomena, conditioned phenomena are not my way..."

Before finishing the chant, the mercy on the professor’s face swiftly disappeared, replaced with indifference. ’He’ glanced at the Mist Ship, then cast a glimpse towards the inner castle walls.

On the wall, Vice Principal Ruoyu smiled, nodding slightly towards Professor Yao, then let his gaze fall on Lady Shi Hui’s location.

...

Patter patter.

The drizzle swept in by the fierce wind ceased before it soaked the blue bricks on the wall, along with the raging flames ignited by Lady Shi Hui’s ’Five Elements Inverted’ spell.

Just in a blink, the burning willows within the Keiform Flight Land restored their lush appearance, seemingly becoming even more verdant. The thriving green ocean once again lifted the three Great Demon ships, and the demonic battle teams aboard regained their bloodthirsty courage, howling and surging, launching attacks along the willows lodged on the walls.

"Don’t daydream, you bastards!"

"The tender little witch awaits to be pampered by masters!"

"Charge! Charge! Charge!"

"Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Similarly, the wizard hunting teams defending the Black Prison Castle on the wall were swiftly organizing, constantly mending the vulnerabilities in the Protect Legal Formation, severing those willows lodged in the walls, and hunting any approached demons.

"Divination Group command! Extend and release Fire Rage Spell in three stages! Embed Wind Curse!"

"Ready... Fire!"

"Frail wind blows!"

Five wizards raised their law books, chanting loudly: "Wind Bossuo erupts, end of the wind and storm!"

"Uncle in the Bush!"

Another five wizards stepped forth, raising their law books: "Fire Rages on!"

Then another five wizard roared in unison: "Frail wind drifts!"

"Uncle in the Bush! Fire Rages raises!"

"End of the wind and shadow!"

"Uncle in the Bush, Fire Rages thrives!"

Dozens of wizards together unleashed large-scale Wind and Fire magic, atop the walls, at intervals along the distance, teams like this were calling upon elemental beings in forms of Fire Dragons, Fire Pigs, Fire Crows, Fire Monkeys, Fire Chickens, roaring, spiraling, rushing under the drive of the great wind towards those interwoven willows at the wall’s base.

"Whew..."

From the cabin of the Mist Ship came a long sigh: "No wonder you are the Vice Principal of the First University... Judging by your degree of control over power alone, you’re not far from that tier, are you."

Lady Shi Hui stood at the prow without a step back, her expression now far more solemn than before.

"Sea Demon King," she softly enunciated the name: "...Xiangliu."

"Surprise!"

A snake head the size of a truck bed suddenly emerged from the cabin, slid down the side, looped under the hull, climbed up the deck, again and again encircling several times before aiming its head towards the witch at the Mist Ship’s fore.

The Mist Captain, Watcher Gustav Darren, Mark Bridget, the Time Usurper—three Great Demons crawled under the gigantic snake head, resembling inconspicuous moss on the deck.

The snake hairs on the ship’s figurehead acted against their usual timidity, hissing, stretching their necks trying to lick the scales on the large snake, but this time the figurehead female demon played dead, tightly closing her eyes pretending to be a stone.

"Hiss hiss," the Sea Demon King spewed a bright red tongue, its cold voice like greasy little snakes entering the witch’s ears, making her furrow her brows: "...Did you think I was still sleeping in the Mariana Trench? Hiss hiss... Fooled you!! Hiss hiss, there’s only the shell I shed!"

"That’s disgusting," Shi Hui curled her lips, inserted her little finger into her ear leisurely, flicking it aside: "Besides you, no one thinks it’s a clever move."

"I just urge you to come out fast... end this damned war quickly by killing you."

"You’ve disrupted my beauty sleep."
