Mu Yichen called her again to say there was a dinner engagement tonight and asked her to go home by herself. She responded with a yes, then hung up the phone.
When she got up, she leaned on the sofa and only then realized her period had started. She went to the restroom to change clothes before going home.

She didn’t keep calling Jian Yan. If Jian Yan didn’t want to tell anyone his whereabouts, no amount of calling would help find him.

Feng Fanghua knew she was on her period and seeing her like this thought it was because of that. She asked Auntie to prepare some brown sugar water for her and didn’t have her take care of the child. After dinner, she sent her upstairs.
Once the brown sugar water was ready, Feng Fanghua didn’t let Auntie carry it up, instead, she took it herself. She opened the door and didn’t see anyone on the bed, then she turned around and saw her sitting on the sofa, hands in her hair, as if in severe pain.
"What’s wrong with you? I’ve never seen you so haggard during your period!"
Feng Fanghua thought, maybe she ate something wrong while she was out alone.
"I’m fine! Mom!"
Qin Mu lifted her eyes upon hearing Feng Fanghua’s voice, smiling rather stiffly, but still managed to laugh a little and asked her not to worry.
"You don’t look fine, your husband just happened to not be home for dinner tonight, and here you are. If he comes back, he’ll think I’ve done something to you! Just drink this brown sugar water first!"
The brown sugar water in Feng Fanghua’s hand was still steaming, though her words were sharp, she was genuinely worried and concerned for her.

"Mom said you look pale and have a stomachache?"
