His Beloved Treasure-Chapter 1628 - 455: The Beginning and the End (1) Relentless Love
But none of that mattered, as long as Jian Yan was safe.
In the morning, after breakfast, she hurried to the studio. Her colleagues weren’t there yet, but she was already in the office finishing up the design.
Suddenly, she couldn’t focus on this piece anymore and sent a WeChat message to Mu Yichen: "Do you really have news about him?"
There was no reply. She wasn’t sure if Mu Yichen had seen her message, or maybe he was in a meeting and didn’t have his phone with him.
Qin Mu had a terrible headache. After finishing the drawing, she took the blueprint to the factory. As she was going downstairs, she coincidentally met David and Qiu Xiang, who were also headed there, so she hitched a ride.
However, throughout the ride, she didn’t say a word. David and Qiu Xiang, sitting in the front, noticed that she wasn’t in good shape today. Qiu Xiang knew she was on her period, but she had never been this gloomy before during it.
"Sister Qinqin, if you’re not feeling well, do you want to go to the hospital?"
Qiu Xiang turned her head from the front to look at Qin Mu and asked.
Qin Mu continued to gaze outside, not turning her glance back, and leaned against the car, softly saying no.
Her lips barely moved; the sound, too soft.
After six o’clock in the evening, Mu Yichen looked at his phone again. Since that WeChat message from Qin Mu, there had been no further messages.
They, as a couple, understood each other’s temperament too well, so neither would pester the other. Mu Yichen stood in front of the office’s glass wall, speculating that Qin Mu was probably at the factory, working frantically on that piece due to his morning remark.
There was no need to overthink it; he knew clearly that this surprise had already lost her sincerity.
She must have hastily sketched a drawing and then taken it to the factory for production.
Mu Yichen glanced down at his feet, subconsciously letting out a sarcastic laugh.
Whenever it’s about Jian Yan, she can’t think calmly. Anytime Jian Yan encounters a problem, her first thought is to fly to him.
But even if she flew to Paris, what would be the use?
Paris, not a densely populated city, yet still dauntingly vast like finding a needle in a haystack.
Mu Yichen lightly sighed again, then turned, grabbed his coat, and headed out.
When Qin Mu came out of the factory, it was already eight o’clock. The factory driver drove her back. In her hands was the freshly made brown suit, neatly folded. She thought she could exchange updates with him once home.
Yet, upon arriving home, she found the living room empty.
"Young Mistress, why are you back so late? Everyone’s been waiting for you to have dinner!"
The housekeeper emerged from inside anxiously asking.
"Has Mu Yichen returned?"
Qin Mu asked softly.
"The young master? He’s been back for a while! Let me take your clothes. You should go to the dining room first."
Qin Mu nodded but didn’t hand the clothes over, keeping them draped over her arm.
"Grandpa, Dad, Mom! I’m sorry I’m late!"
Qin Mu perked up slightly when she reached the steps beside the dining room, greeting the elders as usual once inside.
"Why are you back so late?"
Feng Fanghua asked, noticing she didn’t look well, but didn’t scold her harshly.
"Oh! I went to the factory!"
Qin Mu hesitated before looking at Mu Yichen and placing the clothes on the chair behind her, then sat down.
Everything would have to wait until after dinner with the elders, though she had no appetite.
In truth, Mu Yichen had no appetite either, but he ate as if it were just another meal.
The elders all looked a bit tense, unable to understand where the couple had run into issues, but their expressions were one of melancholy and the other of indifference.
After dinner, Mu Yichen played chess with the old man on the sofa, while Qin Mu sat next to him, feeling as if she were sitting on pins and needles.
He didn’t seem in any rush to give her a reply, so maybe he already knew Jian Yan’s whereabouts?
Qin Mu speculated internally and felt a bit less anxious.
Because as long as he knew, she could wait. After all, it was just a few games of chess!
"Go upstairs and wash up first!"
Mu Yichen suddenly said.
When she didn’t move, he turned to glance at her.
With that not too deep, not too shallow gaze, Qin Mu’s heart thumped, then she obediently nodded.
"Alright! Grandpa, I’m going upstairs first! Goodnight, Mom and Dad!"
Somewhat reluctant, she went upstairs.
When Feng Fanghua could no longer see her on the staircase, she turned to look at her son sitting diagonally across and asked, "Did you have a fight with Qin Mu again?"
