Chapter 1657: Chapter 462: The Beginning and the End (8)_3

Mu Yichen sat on one side of her, with a gap big enough for one person to sit between them. However, he didn’t move closer, and neither did Qin Mu, although his hand was resting on the back of the sofa, almost touching her shoulder.

Qin Mingzhu: "You said that on purpose, didn’t you? You don’t want to take care of Dad yourself, so you want me to stay!"

Qin Mu: "You guessed it right! After all, he raised you for so many years, and only had me for a few."

Qin Mingzhu: "You’re still resenting Dad and me!"

Then several pictures of people crying and yelling to slay her came through one after another, and Qin Mu couldn’t help but chuckle softly as she looked down.

Qin Mu: "If that were the case, would I still be here talking nonsense with you now?"

Qin Mu typed the message and sent it, then glanced up to meet Mu Yichen’s gaze. They locked eyes, expressionless, for a few seconds.

Mu Yichen was the same, looking at her wearily, as if she were a familiar stranger.

Qin Mingzhu: "I’m not talking to you anymore. I don’t even know if Dad will come home tonight, and I’m worried!"

Qin Mu: "Weren’t you going to sleep with Wang Huanyu?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Qin Mingzhu: "Qin Mu, you’re too much!"

Qin Mu: "Got it right, didn’t I? Tell Wang Huanyu not to sleep too early; wait for his father-in-law to come home!"

Qin Mingzhu: "Nagging, I know! Huanyu already said to let me sleep, he’ll wait for Dad. We both have more heart than you!"

Several more pictures came through, and Qin Mu smirked, but didn’t reply.

Since the phone was on silent, there was no sound to disturb Mu Yichen and the old man, but while the old man was focused on watching TV, Mu Yichen focused on staring at her as if glaring at his enemy.

"If you two are tired, go to sleep! I’ll stay a bit longer!"

The old man said.

"It’s fine, I’m not tired either, I’ll keep you company!"

Qin Mu saw Mu Yichen looking a bit lazy, as if weary, so she gently turned her head to speak to Grandpa.

Grandpa smiled at her, then looked at his grandson who was just about to get up and leave, chuckled, and thought, boy, you’re in for it tonight; better ask for my help while you still can.

"Alright then! Stay a little longer."

But after another half hour, the old man got tired too and then slowly stood up: "You two continue watching if you want, I’m tired, I’m going to sleep!"

Mu Yichen quietly watched the old man leave without saying anything, lying slumped on the sofa, just waiting for Mrs. Mu’s order to go upstairs and rest.

Qin Mu was dumbfounded seeing Grandpa getting up.

"Grandpa! You’re not watching the ten o’clock news?"

Qin Mu stretched her neck, trying to remind Grandpa about the news so he would stay.

"Not watching! You two should sleep early too! Isn’t Yichen still having a headache? You better go to bed with him early, take care of him!"

The old man reminded Qin Mu kindly, then disdainfully glanced at his grandson.

Mu Yichen half-lying on the sofa, listened to Grandpa.

"Oh!"

Qin Mu replied dully, very unwilling, but still bowed her head.

"Do you want to watch TV or go to sleep?"

Qin Mu looked at Mu Yichen lying half on the sofa, pointing his foot at her.

Even though his feet were good-looking, was he doing it on purpose? Deliberately pointing his foot at her.

"Sleep!"

Mu Yichen immediately replied, thinking she was inviting him upstairs.

"I’ll watch for a bit longer, you go on to bed!"

Qin Mu saw him sitting up to put on his shoes, then spoke leisurely.

Mu Yichen’s actions of putting on shoes paused immediately, then he turned to look at Qin Mu, his gaze sharp.

"Didn’t Grandpa say so! You’re still having a headache, you should rest early!"

Qin Mu reminded him, seeing his displeasure.

"But Grandpa also said you need to take care of me!"

Mu Yichen reminded her coldly.

"You’re not a three-year-old, can’t you take care of a little headache by yourself? I know Mr. Mu isn’t so delicate; Mr. Mu, please go upstairs, good night!"

Qin Mu tried to give him a smile but quickly withdrew it, eyes coldly fixed on the TV.

So stubborn that it seemed it’s written on her chin.

Mu Yichen couldn’t help but sneer, then stared at her piercingly: "Are you sure you’re not coming up?"

"Yeah! I have a drama to catch up on!"

Qin Mu replied, eyes already not on him, though she could sense his dagger-like gaze on her from the corner of her eye.
